Zillah....In DH's family his birthday is on Lincoln's b-day the 12th and one of his brothers is on Washington's b-day the 22nd so in his family President's Day is a combined birthday party! Jana Cute idea BeckyHere is what I found in a quick surf: Washington loved ice cream! My kids will be happy about that addition to the menu. Lincoln's fav was Mary Todd Lincoln's White Almond Cake http://www.abeusa16.com/html/favoriterecipes.html Washington liked crab soup. All the recipies I found had too much cream for DH's diet. I have one that is brothy and gingery...but it has crab so it I'm counting it. Here is the final menu...hoecakes, crab soup, white cake and ice cream. Maybe we'll make log cabins with pretzels and frostine too. This morning DS had cherry yogurt. I told him the cherry was in honor of Washington. He thought I was a super mom coming up with a breakfast menu for the holiday! I have to make up for Valentines day. It was a crazy week, DH was out of town and I was all tapped out of creativity and fun. Today turns out to be very low key and I'm running with this! Thanks for the idea Becky.
