![]() Happy MondayThanks Becky! I was just going to start it. HOpe you get all your errands done! I am home today with a sick DS9 - taking him to the Doc later for a strep test. So, my PODA is fairly big since I will be at home! Will check in later with a TADA. Have a great day everyone - It is snowy and ocld here for the first time in weeks - we're not used to this (this winter anyway!) Andrea ![]() Cold here tooMy big plans for today are to go to the grocery store -- we are cash poor and (gulp) I need to use the credit card rather than the auto withdraw from my delivery service -- and make some headway on my freelance project, so I can pop it in the mail Wednesday. Need to keep things moving out so the cash can start moving in! I think I'll tackle the living room. It looks like an abandoned children's library -- books on every surface, piled almost a foot high! Oh, and the scary bathroom -- everyone here has had stomach flu except me. Yuck!! SSDDStarted several things, but don't seem to be able to finish many of them. I sorted through my stash of coupons and tossed the outdated, don't want ones. They're not sorted yet, and it's a start, but now there's just a slightly smaller pile on the kitchen table. Folded half of last week's laundry, but didn't get it put away. Want to crawl into a hole and pull the grass over top, but will go to Italian class instead. I am in the part of the Julie Morgenstern books where one is to set goals and objectives. I appear to be stuck and can't come up with anything larger than get up tomorrow morning. That's probably more info than anybody wants to hear, sorry. L. Blues Gal Lisa TADA:1 load of laundryTADA: Feel pretty darn good about my TADA. More than I have done in a while. Good Evening! TADA morningGood Evening! TADA Lisa-you sound down, hope you feel better Cold? Yes,we have that here and lots of snow to go with it. All the puddles from all that rain froze into iceskating rinks. Yikes! Ds was reading to me tonight and his reading is so improved over all. It is such a long journey but so heartwarming when he feels that pride in his growth. Have a good one Heidi warm here!Well, sort of. 70s-ish. Hope your DS feels better soon Andrea. Shaun, congratulations on escaping stomach flu! Yikes! Lisa, getting up tomorrow morning is a perfectly good goal. I know what you mean, and hey, you have to start somewhere. As long as you're thinking about it in a general way, you'll come up with something eventually. Jenny, WOW! That's a big TADA. Heidi, congratulations to your DS on his reading. TADA from yesterday: I did get my errands done. I have a big PODA but it's on paper. I'll just post a TADA later on. Becky, hope you get yourBecky, hope you get your poda done! Heidi, send us your snow. Please. DH is now an official firefighter on our volunteer dept. as of Saturday, and on Sunday he got called out to fight a grass fire. Thankfully, it only burned about 1,000 acres. I woke up and the house was still clean! Cool!! Last night before we went to bed, I even got Chance's room fairly picked up. Made the girls work on their room and it's not done real good, but the middle of the floor is clear somewhat. Did my Cindy Crawford video this morning, my legs can tell it now! Drew is asleep so I've been working on bills. Figured them out in my handy dandy spreadsheet, got the money transferred from one bank to the other, now I may just go ahead and pay them! Oh, and one load of laundry washed and drying now. That will be all for the laundry. And I'm going to TADA/PODA Matt, the high school hired hand. He's chopping up a dead tree we pulled down with the tractor and lots of limbs from some other trees DH trimmed. Also have some other limbs that need to come down and DHH (dear hired hand) will work on that too. I've got him doing lots of outside stuff that I just can't get to with Drew. I'm going to have him haul off the dead cat that's in the garden. Move some old whiskey barrels, transplant my crepe myrtles, maybe dig a trench for putting in a drip system for my trees. And for his reward (besides $6/hour), I'm going to let him work my crazy horse for me so hopefully soon I can start riding again. Going to a game tonight. Go Broncos! ![]() HI all- Lots of snow here -HI all- Lots of snow here - well 4 inches. Lots for this winter! You are amazing Jenny, look at all you and DHH are getting done! DS9 is home again today! Thank God I have sick days. He does have strep and is on amoxicillin, which has helped finally today. He was miserable and crying a lot yesterday because his throat was so sore. Nothing worse than seeing your child in pain and not being able to do much to help. Got my PODA done but won't list it, pretty typical stuff. Hope to spend the rest of the afternoon napping and reading! Andrea WhewJenny, I'm tired just reading your tadas. Did you find some latent last trimester "nesting" hormones? LOL. Go girl. Good luck with the poda becky. Congrats to shaun and heidi. Blues Gal Lisa ![]() New scheduleI've been trying for years to get this house on a schedule, and I think the addition of the dog finally did it. Of course DD2 is not cooperating by falling asleep during her naptime, but that's minor! Catching up on the laundry today -- all these sickies plus the Mad Pe-er (my dog) creates a lot of laundry! Jenny, Go Broncos?!? The Super Bowl was this weekend. Isn't it a little late for that?! Hi to all, need to get some work done! Shaun, I don't even know whoShaun, I don't even know who PLAYED in the Super Bowl, and the only reason I even knew it was going on was because our pastor kept mentioning it in the sermon and the church admin. board meeting. LOL! Broncos are our high school's mascot. LOL! Pittsburgh vs. SeattleThat's why you didn't know. They weren't very high-profile teams outside of their own regions! Our "region" doesn't evenOur "region" doesn't even have a team! LOL! Well, I guess we do. I here them talk about Dallas and Denver on the radio sometimes. New Mexico is mostly a college and high school sports place. We really didn't know because we don't watch football. At all. Trying to get into college so I can at least learn the game for cheering purposes and for Chance's sake (since he will play when he gets a little older. He already has tackeling down good). Go Broncos!Yes, we watched the Super Bowl, know who played. But my husband is such a die-hard Broncos fan we were still "cheering" for the Broncos. Kind of strange, but true. Good Morning! TADA fromGood Morning! TADA from yesterday: DD had a blast playing with the kids while I had a facial. The products are very nice, bought a couple things. Found a lime green/blue area rug at Target, lime green/blue/purple 1960's style round flat beads that hand in the doorway as a curtain. Know what I mean?? You attach them to the top of an open entryway and push them to the side when you walk in. I put a single stem orange Gerber daisy in a clear vase in each of the 4 basement window wells. It looks really cool down there and definitely not a dark dungeon any more. PODA Big day, lots to do. Personal posts later guys. Heidi ![]() Morning all - Arbonne Heidi?Morning all - Arbonne Heidi? Skin care? Gotta love Target - that stuff sounds cute. I'm jealous of your basement - ours is concrete floor and cinderblock walls with a few area rugs scattered! We do exercise down there though. Hey Jenny and Becky and Shaun! Glad you can join in Lisa! Well, up early getting ready for work. DS is going in today, he is feeling much better, thanks to the meds. PODA: Bye! ![]() No waterSo how can I clean? Water is shut off for the day. That's OK, I need to work on this project deadline. Almost there! Your PODAs are impressive, guys -- makes me feel like I need to get it in gear! Glad DS is better Andrea. Shaun Decisions, decisionsTrying to figure out what will make the biggest dent in both my current physical environment and my mood. Could I rent a storage unit and move some things out as a sign of getting serious about putting the house on the market without falling apart? Hmmmm. Thanks to everyone for the support. Heidi, I love Target's stuff. It's all so cool and groovy. L. Blues Gal Lisa Yes! Get a storage unit. This made the biggest difference when we got our last house ready to sell. I had the unit for three months. And after those three months I figured I could live without some of the stored stuff, anyway, flung it before we finally moved. It was a great feeling. I'm baaaaaaack....Yes, once again. Just wanted to say it's so cool to see many of the same people here for YEARS. I'm making TNH my homepage now, hoping to plug in more. Finally have some routines working in this house, flying a little better, have more time for the computer. Yeah!!!!! --Karin Good Morning! Hi Karin, goodGood Morning! Hi Karin, good to have you around. How are the kids? PODA Stuffed and labelled for 3 hours last night at the LDA office with a few other people. Our invites go out today. That is one big chore done. We ordered 2ooo(yes,thousand)invitations. We expect close to 500 attendees though. hope you guys have a great day today Heidi Holy cow, Heidi!THIS is what I would like my day to look like, YOUR PODA. If I don't write things down, put routines and todos on paper, I get distracted so easily... Boys are doing good, thank you for asking! DS7 and DS5 have short hair like their (Army) daddy, but DS3 is my "hippie child". DH understands that under penalty of extreme PMS-like insanity will he ever get DS3's hair cut short. DS3 is my "baby". He's taken a bit more therapy than expected w/his cochlear implant rehab, but he's still progressing, at his own pace. --Karin Please, I shouldn't putPlease, I shouldn't put anyone to shame, Andrea. I just plug at it like all of us.LOL Glad the kids are well Karin. My DS who is not the baby, has the long shaggy look going on now. It drives my DH crazy but I don't mind it. All the boys at school are wearing it that way now. Trends come and go,not a battle worth fighting in my opinion. See ya Heidi Well, motivated and achieved. :)Yeah! I WAS motivated, not shamed, ha ha! I cleaned up the downstairs (living room, dining room, kitchen), then mostly picked up the basement (kids' area, laundry and bathroom). I've flung about as much as I could in the past, so it wasn't too hard. The kids are used to me giving them tasks, so they helped. Their options are help, or spend the afternoon/evening in your room. Not too strict, eh? DS3 was the challenge. He's constantly one step behind us tearing things down. So half my job was keeping him distracted. It was actually kind of cool, worked well with the other two boys. They were rewarded by eating dinner in front of the TV, watching Huckleberry Finn. Thank you for the motivation! --Karin Welcome back Karin!Great to see you again! TADA: -almost all of those tedious phone calls I'd been putting off for, like, three weeks *THUD* Tomorrow I have to go to school, so I'll be studying pretty much all day. Miss Kitty not doing so well.I have to take the young ones to the dentist this morning, then I'm going to try to get my older cat in to be looked at. I can't touch her around her hips. I just thought she was cranky and hiding out since we got a new kitten, but have noticed a huge decline in her this past week. Eating less food, not jumping. I'm hoping it's arthritis, but I'm kind of bummed for her. Morning routines done, I'm focusing on the family the rest of the day... ![]() Hi karin!I'm just peeking in before taking off out the door for one of a million appointments this month. (I am SOOOOOO SICK -- yes I am yelling -- of appointments, I just want to live my d--n life!) Wanted to say hey to Karin, glad to see you back!! I struggle to keep up around here these days, but it is so great to see familiar "faces." Happy Friday everyone! Hey Karin!! Big choreHey Karin!! Big chore done. I roto-rooted the kitchen sink. Same sink that was clogged Christmas. Got 'er done. We broke down and had bought a big ol' motorized thing for it. Kinda fun to run. LOL! Also finished a baby gift project I was working on, and Drew's birth announcements. No, not flying, but those all needed to get done. Not much flying, though. Went to town this morning for groceries. And I fit into my old fat jeans today! I still have 20 pounds to lose, but I feel good again in these. They are size 9s. I want to be a 5 again. That is my goal. Much to do. Game tonight. SIZE 5?????You go, girl!!!! I would personally LOVE to be a size 9. I still have twenty pounds to loose, from each of my three pregnancies, last delivery over three years ago... Not so hot on flying today. Kind of distracted by the cat. She does have an internal mass. Waiting for bloodwork results, but I don't think we'll be going for the ultrasound. Oh, my. --Karin Prayers for your KittyHi Karin, I am hoping that everything turns out ok for your kitty. I recently put one of mine to sleep because of feline leukemia....never went outside either :/ Karin- I hope your cat pullsKarin- I hope your cat pulls through, thoughts are with you on that one. And yes, size 9 would be good. I vary from a 10 to a 12 and sometimes 14 depending on the manufacturer. I USED to be a 4-6 in my prekid days,oh well..... Shaun- I know what you mean about all the running around til your head spins, hope you get a break real soon. TADA Winter Olympics start tonight,on now I think so will watch a bit of that, put the kids to bed, and read. Heidi I remember size 9That's what I was when I first started posting here! Now, after much prednisone and a pregnancy, I'm a 24. Oh well, it's still 50 pounds less than my heaviest. No ta-da today-- as I said I was at school all day. But I made $25 for participating in a psych study! Size 22 here.Gosh, that was hard to write. I was a 10-12 when I got married, 16 after the first kid, 18 after the second and 20 after the third. Since gained a few more pounds. Okay, that said, I have to do something about it. (I'm 5'10") I was on the computer too much yesterday. Still waiting on cat's bloodwork to come in. Limiting myself online, tick tick tick tick goes the timer. --Karin Finally homeBeen a long day. Both boys and girls lost (girls by a landslide. Don't understand, we beat them 3 weeks ago!!), and the boys just barely til the last minute, then by 9. I was a size 1 to a 3 when we got married. Which is why a 9 is horrible to me. But it felt GOOD to be in those jeans. Except by the end of the night. Guess I ate too much during the day to stay in them. LOL! I'm in my comfy flannel pj pants now. Back to flying tomorrow. Especially now that I've fixed my sink. haha! My post on Mommybloggers.com!!!!!Well, I was online too much yesterday, actually timing myself today. But I submitted a posting to Mommybloggers.com 's Valentine's Day Rumble, and it will be up today! Yeah! Here's the info from my blog: From their site: "Beginning at 8 am, CST, we will be posting an entry every hour, until 8 pm, CST. We will do this each day for the next four days, beginning Saturday, February 11th, and continuing through Tuesday, February 14th." MY POST will be up by 12 noon CST, or 1 p.m. here on the East Coast. Yeah!!!!! You're welcome to read it -- please leave a comment! Now I must get on with my day, focus on some kind of routine, put the roast in the crock, and figure out something to do for Family Fun Day... --Karin good Morning! TADA morninggood Morning! TADA PODA Fun Day today consists of baking rest of Valentine cookie dough and kids can decorate them, pack some up with thermos of hot cocoa, and go to the sledding hill down the road aways. Come home and dethaw by the fire, play whatever board games the kids want, hang out, have dinner and watch a video. Sounds like a plan, better get movin'. Enjoy your weekend and inject some Fun in! Heidi baking dayHeidi, I'm joining you. Today I want to make some Valentine cookies and also some other cookies to mail for DH's grandma's 87th birthday, on the 17th. Plus some miscellaneous muffin-type things to freeze for future breakfasts and desserts. Hope the kitty's okay Karin. Sorry about the defeat Jenny. Just wait till next time! PODA: Kitty okay. :)Blood work came back okay, go figure. I'm not going in for the cat ultrasound, though. Something's up with the cat, we'll just have to keep an eye on her. Becky and Heidi, Valentine cookies sound like a great idea! Maybe I could steal your idea to do with the kids tomorrow. --Karin ![]() Just poppin in to say hi!I'm reading along every now and then, it's hard to keep up when you miss a day or two. Heiei and Becky, did you guys need my address? I just know you wanted to send us some cookies Andrea, thought of you the other day when we ate at Alamo Cafe It's cold, cold for TX anyway. I think this is our coldest night this winter, dh built us a fire tonight. Good Morning! Jamielea-gladGood Morning! Jamielea-glad you stopped over to say hi,miss seeing your posts. Hope everything's going well your way. Well, the kids nixed the sledding idea yesterday, pretty much cuz we got busy doing other things at home and DS was having a friend spend the night. Watched the original Jaws with the boys last night. We all screamed at some points! PODA See ya Heidi ![]() Morning Guys - Hope you hadMorning Guys - Hope you had an enchilada for me Jamie Lea! Great to see you here. Jaws - yikes! That is still scary for me. HI Karin and Becky! Well, today is grocery shopping and a scouting event for DS9. So mostly busy with that.
