Challenge - take one ball of yarn........
....and come up with ideas of something to knit with it
I have a number of odd balls of wool in my stash, doesn't everyone? A knitting magazine I bought recently has a regular challenge each month to find different things to knit with one ball or less. In the issue I bought the item was a cellphone cover, so I knitted one of those last night in a pink funky 'boa' type yarn. I love it
I'm throwing the challenge out to the knitters here at TNH - what can you make with one ball?

Ask Lynn about her socks
pester her til she posts them up, I'm serious, they're a scream. I forget how many different odd balls she's using up to make them.
Oh, and I accept your challenge: I have one and only one ball of a yummy eyelash yarn (green), I am going to make a "magic" scarf/cowl/wimple with it on my knifty knitter. Hope it'll be long enough to go all the way over my head...

love the socks!
They're so cool
Sock patterns, even the simple ones you guys have given me before, are completely Greek to me (or Turkish
). I've decided to stick with simple stuff for a bit. As soon as I have some spare cash I want to make the poncho in The Knit Stitch, until then I have to be content to with using up the yarn I have.
The 'magic scarf' sounds great, I'd love to see a pic when you've finished it Anhata.
replay to one ball of yarn left.
You could make dishcloths with it if it is that type of yarn. pinkroses.

And before I saw your comment! I ripped out the heel. I made the mistake of taking it mid-turn in my knitting bag and it got hopelessly screwed up. And I think I would have run out of the tiger striped yarn anyway. So I found two other balls that are a little more sedate than the tiger and I think will pull it more together. They'll also make the yellow really pop. It is SCREAMING, people.
