Not much actual housework today, tomorrow will be more of a home day with laundry and vacuuming, etc.
Andrea-when you said DH was a rerun I thought at first you meant your Dear Husband!! LOL
Yes,my dream house would have a large mudroom equipped with a wall of hooks for coats and backpacks with a bench underneath and another wall of built in cabinets for storage.
Have a good one guys!

Me too!
I thought the same thing, Heidi, about DH. Took me a second.
The weekend was very productive here. I organized my laundry room shelves, and made a little more room on the floor. I need to give the sweeper back it's home in there. Also, I'll need room for the litter box whenever kitty arrives.
Also, I windexed/bleached all of my counters and the stove, and shined my sinks! Was also able to find a bit more room in the cupboards for some of my Pampered Chef stones. I like having them out on the microwave cart for convenience (especially since they're so heavy), but with the mouse family coming and going sporadically....you know.
I even got about 4 hours of paid work in last night. Oh, and two loads of laundry washed, folded, and put away.
POWA (weekly, get it?):
Gather bills to pay
ALL Floors are FILTHY
Write proposal for class
GO to class
Start new semester of voice lessons
Closet in kids' room

Was kind of thinking about you this weekend, Jenny. Not sure why exactly--just one of those things.
Happy Monday Rompers to all...

My DH is a rerun everyday.
My DH is a rerun everyday. Get up, spend 30 minutes on the throne, play playstation, zone out in front of TV, eat, more tv, have a mid morning nap... LOL! I knew what you meant. LOL! I can't get DH to watch DH yet. We have been watching The Girls Next Door and Sex in the City lately. I just can't convince him to turn off the dish and go to network. Finally got him to start watching American Idol! LOL!
Hey julie! Thanks for thinking of me!
The girls ate all the bread this weekend, and I forgot the cheerios the other day and flourescent lightbulbs for the laundry room, so I'm going to town. I have a few other things to do there as well. So that's the plan.
Monday Morning
Still flying pretty well. Did my evening routine last night, and morning this morning. Did the Weekly Home Blessing yesterday, as Sundays are just better for me and I get more help then.
I also did my meal planning and got groceries yesterday.

Jenny, you are hilarious! My DH is pretty much a rerun too.
Julie, I'm so envious of your PC stones. I had two and loved them, but with 3 careless males in my house cooking, they just don't last. When the Dss are gone to college I am getting another!
Way to go with the paperwork Heidi, wannna come over here and do mine next?
Have a good one,

Our basement is half done. The finished half has newer carpeting and dark paneled walls(from the first owner),the other half is concrete slab and cinderblock walls. The finished half is the kids' playroom and the unfinished half is the laundry room. Well, dark panels make for a very dark playroom so I finally convinced DH to lighten it up and he will start on that today. He is in a slow period now for work so this is the perfect time to do this, yeah! It will make a huge difference down there.

Well, hopefully this thread will rejuvenate and I won't be here talking to myself. LOL

Where has everyone been!
Where has everyone been! Just me and you, Heidi!
I didn't get much done yesterday. Drew insisted on being held most of the day, so I did that. I did manage 2 loads of laundry and found the top of the dryer (hey, it's white!).
Going to Sam's tomorrow, need to make lists.

I'm here reading! I think a lot of gals are on the other threads now. susannah has not been around, posting anyway, nor has Jamie Lea.
Have a great day Heidi and Jenny!
Andrea
Good afternoon
There are other threads? I am true to this one.
I spent two frustrating days with the church printer, trying to print out a newsletter. After much complaining, the company will exchange the Ricoh for another one. I hope it's better.
I'm around
Just sitting on my butt not getting much done!!
Sticker Shock
Paid the bills today. The gas bill was $330. This house is sucking me dry. But I can't seem to get it cleaned up to put on the market. Selling it will be severing the last tie with my old life (wife, mother, exec. director) so I've got mixed emotions. I just can't seem to come up with a credible "vision" for my future self.
Just need to file the paid bills and do the two online ones.
Sent the notebook and clipboard case off today. I put the skeleton of a "control journal" together for my sister to record and organize our mother's business.
I put a stapler, pen & pencil, and some pre-printed blank inventory forms in the clipboard case. I use mine to manage all the records for donating clothes and household goods to charity. My mother is starting to clutter bust the 50+ years of stuff she has in her house.
I'm cutting class (I'm learning to speak Italian)and going upstairs to watch TV in bed. I'm taking a Marie Callendar's dinner with me. I'm not cooking or anything else. I'm supposed to be deciding who and what I want to be when I grow up.
Later gators.
Blues Gal Lisa
Good Morning! Lisa-if you
Good Morning!
Lisa-if you are having a Marie Callender dinner than you aren't truly cutting Italian class!!! LOL
By the way,my mom is clutterbusting too, with some prompting from yours truly.
Lois- maybe an email version of the newsletter would be easier? Or are there many people without computer availability?

Light day here today, feels good. I took a bracelet of mine in to the jeweler's for a broken clasp. I haven't worn it in years and am looking forward to wearing it again. So here's an idea for ya:gather up all your broken jewelry and have it repaired or sell it to a pawn shop!!!
Later.
Heidi
Morning!
Morning All -
Hey Lois - great to see you! Sounds very frustrating to me.
Hi Heidi - that's great about your bracelet. I don't think I have anything broken - just earrings that I've lost one of the pair too - I hate that!
Hi Lisa - not to be nosy, but are you coming off of a divorce? Sounds like you are in transition. Don't answer if you don't want to!
Hi Becky!
Well, flying? Hmmmmm. Mostly maintaining.
TADA yesterday:
one load laundry done
exercised
made dinner (pork tenderloin, rice, pierogies, brussels sprouts and carrots)
cleaned up dinner
kept on top of paper piles

OK, must run - have a nice day everyone.

Good morning
Good morning, Ladies
The newsletter problem will be solved next week when we get the new printer. We need a printer (or copy machine) for other office things, anyway. We bought this one in August and have had many many problems with it. The new printer will come and all will be hearts and bunnies and ponies. I am an optimist.
I'm Here Too!
But between the flying and taking control and running around for DH I just havn't had time to create a good post.

what an awful day!
Nothing bad actually happened, just had to do a lot of unpleasant chores.
TADA:
-got some cat food (free! free samples at the vet's office!)
-bought dishwasher detergent and cleaning supplies
-worked on my California taxes until my eyes bugged out
-went to the DMV
I still need to do some studying, but I promised DH I would go to a concert with him tonight. He doesn't want to go either, but we're both sort of obligated so we're going to share the misery.

Our basement playroom is pretty empty now and DH and DBIL are painting it today. It will be a light color, cream probably which is a vast improvement over the way dark wood panelling that makes it dark and unchildlike down there. DH is also getting a couple white 6ft tall storage cabinets(with doors) to put on either side of the kids' craft desk/table.
We will have ample storage with room to spare! Can't wait til it's all done and put back in place though.
DD and I will venture out to the craft store today since I need to get a couple things for DS's Valentine party at school. Last year for all those class holiday parties since he is starting middle school next year. But Dd will be starting Kindergarten so it truly won't end, just passed on!! LOL
Becky- I would call a trip to the DMV and doing taxes a most awful day too. At least it's over, right?
Jenny-$350 at Sam's,ouch. But I guess it holds you all for quite some time. We belong to BJ's which is like Sam's Club.
Better run......
Heidi
Hi Jenny and Heidi!
Jenny, I went to Costco Thursday. That's where I got the detergent and cleaning supplies!
Heidi, that Valentine craft stuff sounds like fun! I'm not doing anything on those lines this year, but I hope to next year.
TADA:
-morning routine
-went to pharmacy
-worked some more on California taxes (almost done!)
-went to a required school lecture
Tonight I still need to make dinner and ought to vacuum, but DH has camped out in the living room and his stuff is all over the floor. So I might only get to vacuum the bedroom.
TADA
My TADA list for the last two days:
* Decided on the spur of the moment to go to Los Angeles to see a play that a friend of mine wrote and produced.
* Stopped at a couple of places on the drive home to see what interesting birds might be about.
You know, Ladies, being middle-aged with grown children really DOES have its benefits!

Good Morning!
Well, our basement playroom is painted. The main wall you see when you enter the playroom is.....lime green and the other 3 are cream. It looks happy and brighter and definitely kid color! Finally, a day at HOME!
I'm so glad to just be home for a day. And it will be spent cleaning madly. I know, it's not the flylady way. But the house is just horrible and while I have the kids here to help (and they WILL help. they will help, they will like it, and they will SMILE doing it!!). I've got a load of laundry in the dryer, one in the washer, I've done the breakfast dishes. Going to run the dishwasher, mop the kitchen, clean the bathrooms, do zone stuff in the living room/dining room. Pick up all other rooms so I can vacuum some. Lots to do! And I"m going to turn the computer OFF so I won't be tempted to check in. LOL!
Putting on the headphones
I've been listening to books on CDs when I walk the dog every morning. I've started "A Name of Her Own" and it's really intruiging (?sp). Anyhoo, I'm putting the headphones on and seeing if I can make as many as possible of the baskets piled with stuff that goes somewhere else but still laying on the floor taking up space, looking tacky, and collecting dirt EMPTY.
We had big doings last night, the Junior Ring Dance. DD (17) wore the Vera Wang dress her father let her buy off eBay. White stapless satin bodice, empire waist with simple skirt in deep rose satin, a simple white inset train, just a touch of crinoline under the bottom to make the train flair out a bit, and a wide white grossgrain ribbon around the empire waist that ties in the back and drapes to the floor.
She has gained a little weight since she got the dress that discovered Wed night (at 10:38 pm) that she couldn't zip it closed. Yes, she had to call me and tell me about it immediately. What were WE? going to do? Not one thing right now but go to sleep and see about it after school the next day.
Thursday night, I sewed on a series of three eyelets sets made out of skinny white grossgrain ribbon which we laced up while the big ribbon hid the zipper top. Plus she wore most of her hair down and as it comes to her waist, it covered the back of the dress. Super Mom to the rescue.
Next time I'm in my control journal, I'm giving myself a really big attagirl sticker for that one! (The first page of my control journal is my sticker page, a piece of paper I keep inside a page protector) I figure stickers are cheap, calorie-free, and not toxic to the environment. What more could one ask for in a reward?
Everyone take care of yourselves
Back to the cleaning....Later gators. L.

Okay, remember that vacuuming thing?
Yeah. That didn't happen. Today I'm going to do that! Yesterday turned out to be laundry and baking day.
Lois, I hope you had a nice time here in Los Angeles, even if I didn't get to see you.
Heidi, I like your kid-color description of the playroom! Sounds great.
Jenny, I have been doing a little weekend cleaning myself. Sometimes you just have to stretch the "flylady way" as you say.
Lisa, that dress fix sounds really great! Wow.
PODA:
-vacuuming, as I said
-grocery shop
-put away the laundry I hung up to dry yesterday
-handwash bras

That's Thank Goodness I Flew
The boys are in a community service youth group, and we were hosting this month's meeting on Saturday night. Three extra adults and 12 teenagers in the house for 3 hours.
DS13 broke his thumb skiing Thurday, which threw all plans into total disarray.
Thanks to having kept up, all I really had to do to get ready was sweep the floors and clean the bathrooms. Whew!
TADA
dishes all caught up
two loads of laundry to go

PODA

go watch some of the Super Bowl at DSIL's
Heidi, that playroom sounds great! Good for you having the courage for lime green. What fun!
Lisa, good save on the dress. I would be hopeless in that situation.
Jenny, you made me laugh with the "they will like it and they will SMILE..." comment!
That's so funny.
Becky, I hate vacuuming. I don't know why really. And even though I know I should handwash my bras, I never do. You're a good woman.
Lois, I'm hanging on to the hopeful thought of being middle aged with grown children as I go to the ER, ballet lessons, PTA meetings, basketball practices...
See ya,
-Jo
Becky --
I was only in town a few hours -- I arrived about 5 p.m., 8 p.m. curtain, slept until 7 a.m., and was on the road! And I left for LA an hour after deciding to do so. Totally spontaneous!
