Jim Malcom, Sinead O'Connor, need I say more?
If you're a snob in regards to compilation CDs, just keep on walkin. If you want to sample the works of some of the finest Celtic musicians and vocalists of our time, get your feet wet with this one. I've been introduced to several artists I'd not known before, like Ashley MacIssac (where have I been on that one?) and have gotten to enjoy some new songs by artists more well known, like Sinead O'Connor and her achingly powerful "Her Mantle So Green".
If you like this album, you'll probably like the Celtic Tides album by the same label. Dougie MacLean, that's alls I'm sayin.

thanks!
I have been wanting more Celtic music. I have Women of the World, Celtic from the Putumayo label and I LOVE it!I will check out your recommendations
There's synthetic and electrical instruments, I should note
If your a purist for all acoustic folk music, you may be less than thrilled with this one. I think it's innovative and thrilling what they've done, but that's just me. They've introduced modern music technology or other "new" elements into the mix, hence the concept, "crossroads". I love it. Wild Mountain Thyme gets a lot of play.
