I obviously have nothing better to do, so I clicked on the weird ad over there on the left and it took me here http://www.whoisbenjaminstove.com/
So, the question is, what the heck is this all about?

I'm following it HoneyLike you Honey, I clicked onto the add and have since read just about every forum post on his site. I've bookmarked it so I can keep following it. As far as I can figure the mystery is not who Benjamin Stove is, but the painting itself and whatever "event" led the grandmother to paint it. Advertising companyI think it's some kind of experimental advertising, I found stuff on the web that says the site links back to an ad company somehow. Alternative Reality GameThen again, I found another site that says it might be a new Alternative Reality Game... I don't care what it isA mystery...for real? An elaborate hoax? Whatever, it's got me hooked. I had a grand nightmare after reading all those posts the first night I looked at it. And I don't usually remember dreams at all. I'm lovin' it, and I sure hope it turns out to be somthing. ![]() Facinating readDoesn't sound like a hoax, but I'm gullible, what do I know? I was nearly convinced at the end of Princess Bride (the book) that Florin and Guilder did exist...I thought maybe they were over by Romania somewhere. I was ready to go try to find the "original" book by Morganstern and everything. Till I did an internet search and found out that William Goldman is an evil genius. Did you hear the rumor about the Princess Bride musical that's supposed to be in the works? Hope it's true. Whatever happens, reading Tucker is fun, and the whole crop circle in 1913 is really creeping me out. What a great story. Anhata ![]() Yes, "nearly", little missy!Watzittooya? Anhata I'm intrigued...I must run, so I'll have to wait till tomorrow to check out what you are all reading, but I just wanted to say that when I saw the words "Benjamin Stove", the first thing that flashed into my mind was the Ben Franklin wood stoves that everyone was putting into their homes in the late 70s, or early 80s. Do they still make those particular wood stoves? Maybe it was a promotional thing tied into the Bicentennial and all. Sorry. As you were. Julie Post new comment |
