Check Your Closets: Boy's Jacket Recall

[1]If you've bought a Hurley boy's hooded jacket, it's being recalled [2]:

The jackets have a drawstring through the hood, posing a strangulation hazard to children. In February 1996, the CPSC issued guidelines to help prevent children from strangling or getting entangled on the neck and waist drawstrings of upper garments such as jackets and sweatshirts.
...
The recalled jackets are black or gray, and were sold in youth sizes up to size 20. “HurleyCo” is stitched on the upper left outside of the jacket. The style number BJ06GS is printed on a label sewn inside the left side seam of the jacket.

No injuries have been reported. The CPSC is recommending you take the drawstring out.

If this sounds silly, keep in mind that kids have been dragged to their deaths when hoodie cords have gotten caught in bus doors. It's a good idea to avoid drawstrings on kids' clothes.
