John and I have decided to take on one room a month. That way it's not overwhelming, but we still see immediate results. January is the kitchen. He wanted to make February the basement, but I don't think February is long enough. 
I'm thinking maybe the girls' room.
So far, we've gone through all but one of the cupboards, two of the drawers, and one countertop. We've stored some stuff that was sitting around in boxes and made room elsewhere. We have almost two full boxes of stuff we're giving away, and I've given my spoon collection to Josie who's actually interested. My kitchen has TONS of storage space, it just needs better use.
