A Visit From The Tooth Fairy

DD lost her first tooth yesterday! At knitting circle, no less. We brought it home and put it in her little fairy box and this morning we found the treasures The Tooth Fairy left for DD. Four quarters, a teeny tiny wooden cat, and a sparkly quartz stone. Also a note, see attached.
DD is "so happy of the little treasures." She could talk of nothing else this morning but of how happy she was to find the note, rock, tiny toy, and quarters this morning on her bedpost when she woke up.
Unfortunatly, The Tooth Fairy dropped the tooth on the way out of the house last night.
DD found it and it's back in her fairy box for Ms. Fairy to take away tonight, (again). DD wants to write a thank you note to go with it and thinks The Tooth Fairy will leave a "[you're] welcome" note tonight!
Aren't kids great?

Too cute!
I remember a few times the fairy "forgot" to come....had to make up a pretty good excuse for that LOL!
Sweet
That is so sweet! It brings back memories of when my two were little.
forgetful tooth fairy
I actually forgot about 3 times in a row I think and ended up having to handwrite a note from the Tooth Fairy to apologise. DD was dead chuffed. She also made an agreement with the tooth fairy that she could keep her teeth and still get the money. There again, she's 9 and she still kinda believes in Santa... I must be doing something right!
I believe in a literature class it's called 'suspension of disbelief' - she's actually reached the point where we're both fairly sure that she wouldn't believe but she's actively choosing to believe. Which helps since her brother is 7 and she's usually got quite a mean streak in her. But she's old enough that I have to not be caught lying which is tough with her. I don't want her to suddenly turn round and say she was stringing me along and I lied to her so now she'll never trust me again.
isn't parenting hard work!?!
Kerri.
DS swallowed one once....
...and insisted on writing the fairy a letter - 'Dear tooth fairy, I have swallowed my tooth. Please could you fly down into my tummy and get it...' I still have the note somewhere.
