We were supposed to get freezing rain tonight. OK, fine, let's get out while we can; it's supposed to hit around 4 pm, so let's get moving. Beautiful but freezing cold outside, clear as a bell. So we get the girls all duded up and off we go to see Santa downtown (pictures to follow). We got stuck in the parking garage for nearly 45 minutes trying to get out--who knows why--and as we waited on the ramp, it started to snow. Yikes!
Portland is a town that just doesn't do that well in snow. We don't get it very often and when we do we hope we have enough warning that we can all stay home. Well, a LOT of us got caught out in it today. We made it home without mishap, though the last bit was quite slippery.
We're stocked up on food, candles in case the power goes, and are cozy and warm. We went sledding a bit ago and I'm just now thawing out. It'll be gone by Tuesday, and we don't expect it back for Christmas, but right now it's white, and muffled, and I'm feeling Just! Too! Yule-ish!
