Well I got word today, I got the job with the hospital! I am happy and sad all at the same time. And just to think...at 39 I can say I am retiring from one job and starting another....weird. Job starts January 9.

Congratulations Marlene and good luck in your new job.

New Year, New job sounds like a great idea - a very positive start to 2006.

And congrats Marlene. I'm not sure I ever had a real interview either since I was usually being checked by temp agencies and I was usually way ahead of the majority in that sphere so it wasn't hard! Now you can almost relax till after Christmas - now there's a gift! Eye-wink

Lenora - just be yourself because with your common sense and your grades (and your all around niceness) I'm sure you'll come out on top!

Kerri.

Thanks!

Good for you Marlene! It will be an adventure! Will you be able to get the health insurance for your whole family?

Way to go, Marlene!

I've made it a personal challenge to NEVER have to go through the traditional job hunt (including the interview process) again!

Very happy for you!

Tips

Lenora,

That was my very first job interview ever (hairstylists don't have true job interviews, they usually consist of "Are you breathing?" ....ok you start Tuesday LOL) and I just went in there and was regular ol me, except I was wearing pantyhose LOL. Just don't talk too much or divulge too many things. For instance, they wanted to know why I was leaving the hair business so I told them that it was time for a change, as my industry was changing for the worst, not having a true steady paycheck etc... I did NOT tell them the real reason "my husband is disabled and he really needs some insurance yadda yadda...".
Good luck and let me know how it goes!

Yepper!

Plus dental insurance, paid time off, a lunch break and retirement. I don't know how to act LOL!
