Happy Monday Morning!
I tried posting yesterday, but mid post DS2 fell down some stairs. He didn't seem to be hurt, but more scared of stairs now. Because of his lower muscle tone and motor skills, he's only been going up and down them on his own since we moved in almost four months ago. We have gates, but I left one open while going up and down stairs with boxes. Guess I need to be a little more careful. I am constantly "on guard" trying to keep an eye on him. Neverending. I can't imagine anything at all happening to him. I think I was more scared than he was!
Anyhoo, I'm almost done unpacking the "dungeon". Problem is, that brings boxes into other rooms for unpacking, rooms that were previously clean. Well, I'm still plugging away. The duct cleaners are coming in two days, my goal is to have everything ready for them when they show up. The "dungeon" still had so many boxes, I didn't even know where the ducts were! Now I can't wait to have the room set up as our Christmas staging room. Place to wrap presents, sew those curtains and other projects that have been on hold, sort photos. After the holidays we should be setting it up as a spare bedroom.
Sometimes I find myself spending more energy thinking about doing something than actually doing it, ugh!
Hello, Jenny around? Anyone hear from Jenny yet?
On that note, on with the day!

Good Morning
We've got homeschool bowling today so this will be quick, just wanted to jump in before the thread got so overwhelming.
You girls are hard to keep up with!
I'm done with Christmas decorating, just a few things that go here and yonder but all the Christmas trees are up. The one in the front living room took me 4 hours
But it's done now, nothing to do but sit back and enjoy, oh and get Christmas cards ready, and shop for Chirstmas, and 3 Christmas parties, oh and....
It's been a while sense I posted a PODA going to see if that keeps me on track.
PODA

*clean patio door
*@ least one load of laundry
*homeschool
*homeschool bowling
*spiffy upstairs (Savannah's room looks like a tornado came threw)

There's another thread.
Jo, hope your dd is feeling better
Heidi, do you like the snow? I wish we got snow here.
Better run, see you guys later.
home
Howdy folks!
I'm home (got back Sunday afternoon), but not flying. I will try later to get up a birth story, but for now, all is well. Little Andrew (Drew) is nursing well, doesn't know night from day, and we are all fine (though I'm a little sore. LOL!).
Thanks everyone for the congrats (yeah, I'm going to copy and paste this on the other thread, too. I'm lazy! LOL!).
Want to be Flying Again
Well, I've been away for a while, and not so sure I'm really back for good either. Not too good at keeping up with forums and things... anyway, in-laws are here for the next 3 weeks - already tearing the place apart in order to put it back together. They are wonderful.
I'll be bringing Christmas stuff out really early (for me) this year seeing as we are leaving for the two weeks around Christmas. So, I have decided that the day after T-giving is for that.
as for today...

Peaceful feelings?
I can't quite figure out why, but for the first time (before an event) I am at peace. Everyone keeps asking me if I am overwhelmed or stressed about the upcoming ceremony and open house, not to mention company this week for Thanks giving. But I feel calm and have decided that God is in control and all will be well.
Now that I've typed that all up, I will come back and review next week when things may be different. As of now I have 86 positive RSVP for the open house (I've asked for a response by Friday). I am praying they won't all come at once
My menu is set and I will go shopping next Monday at Sam's for most items.
I'm planning on
Shrimp, Wings, Meatballs
Spinach Artichoke dip w/ bagel chips
Pepper Jelly with Cream Cheese and wheat thins
Red/Green Tortilla Chips with 7-layer Taco Dip and Salsa
Cheese Ball or sliced cheese & toasted crackers
Vege Tray with Ranch Dip
Cookies, Brownies, Cheesecake squares, Mini Pastries, Buckeyes, Bon Bons and Fudge
Beer, Wine and Soft Drinks
I will spend Wednesday baking cookies & candies, Thursday cleaning house, Friday setting up tables and buying beer and wine. I've found a suit for myself and one for DS14 (his very first). This weekend we will decorate for Christmas and fill the treat bags with candies and tie a sivler star ornament on each as a favor to our guests. (I'm planning on making 150).
So, I think it's planned? Does anyone see something I've missed? Any suggestions gladly received.

Storm Warning
It seems we are in for another Nor'Easter. Cool. They say 4-12" of snow by tomorrow noon. It hasn't started yet, just raining, but I'm excited. When everything is gray and crappy outside, I'd rather have the snow because at least then you can sled, ski, snowshoe, and snowmobile. Let is Snow!
Well, now we all are in various stages of the stomach bug. I am over it, so are DH and DS13, but DD is still having bowel issues, and DS15 is at the vomit stage. Fun.

Jenny-Yippee!!!!!! Welcome Drew! If DD had been a boy she would have probably been Andrew John (AJ). I love that name.
So just out of curiosity Jamielea, how would you decorate a log cabin for Christams? I could use some inspiration, and I am pretty bad at that stuff. We always get a tree the first weekend in December, and it is always tall because we have 17 foot cathedral ceilings. I also have a small collection of folk-art santas, and that's pretty much it.
OK, I'm off to be productive.
Love,
-Jo
Stormy weather ...
Jo, I'm just slightly west of you. I don't think we're slated for the Nor'Easter but they are calling for a whomping of lake effect snow on Thursday/Friday/Saturday. This afternoon I have to decide whether to go to the in-laws in New Jersey as originally planned, or to stay home. I'm leaning towards the latter as I do not want to travel back home in a blizzard.
As far as Christmas decorating in a log cabin goes - pinecones, candles and lots of plaid ribbon is what pops into my scheming little mind! I love decorating for Christmas.
Jenny, I love your birth story and I'm looking forward to seeing pictures of Andrew. You cracked me up with your comment about not flying - um, you just gave birth!!!! I give you permission to rest for a few days.
Susan, your menu sounds lovely.
Oh yeah - flying - I am packing for our trip and following Flylady's excellent list for preparing the house for my absence.
Hope everyone has a peaceful holiday.
Rose
check in
Hi all-
Rose, I'm just a bit west of you and we are supposed to get quite a bit of the white stuff too! Enjoy your trip!
Jo, hope you guys are better soon - definitely a country theme for the decor, or else a nature theme - birds on the tree, berries, etc. Grapevine wreaths.
Susan, can I hire you to do the holidays (and any other entertaining) at my house? Seriously, if you ever want to go back to work, I'm sure you could be a professional "event" planner.
Back to work -
Andrea
RSVP
Susan, did you get my RSVP for 6? LOL!
Still not flying, but just saying hi. I put pictures on my blog today:
http://www.xanga.com/farmerswife
Some day I'll get around to updating the web site, but that will have to do for now.
Glad I have a free pass from flying for a while. LOL! Not on the computer very much, but I didn't want anyone to worry about us. Drew has his first checkup tomorrow. I have him sunbathing now to stave off the jaundice.
Laterz!
I'm new to flying but new hom
I'm new to flying but new home new habits.
We're supposed to get snow on Thursday - the kids are looking forward to getting off school because the roads will close pretty quickly around here.

Welcome Shayne :-)
Susan, as always I'm in total awe! Sounds like lots of fun, glad dd will be home soon.
Rose, have a nice trip
The house looks decent but we're having company for Thanksgiving so I want it to look better than decent
I've invited an older couple I know and Fred's invited a guy from work and his wife. Should be lots of fun.
I never did clean my glass patio door the other day so that's a must. I also need to iron my table cloth, catch up laundry (about 2 loads to go), spiffy in Trey and Savannah's rooms and CLEAN my bedroom. We're having Turkey, Ham, Mashed potatos, gravy, dressing, mac and cheese, green bean cass, deviled eggs, and pumpkin pie. My friend is bringing pecan pie and Fred's friend from work is bringing something? Should be plenty to eat.
Hope you all have a Great Thanksgiving
Beautiful
We got some snow, about 3 inches, I'd say. We are supposed to get up to 8 more on Thanksgiving Day. It's very pretty outside.

Road trip: cancelled
Guilt trip: full speed ahead!
I decided that my son and I would stay home after seeing weather forecasts that were calling for "crippling lake effect snow" through Friday at least. The trip down probably wouldn't be too bad but I didn't want to risk being stranded on the way back home.
So, of course - it's a beautiful day here. Guilt, guilt, guilt. Now I'm secondguessing myself. My in-laws don't get to see their only grandchild very often, a function of geography and their work schedules.
PODA: make some desserts for plan B - Thanksgiving Day with some friends here.
Hope everyone is safe and enjoying time with family.
Rose
Don't feel guilty
Don't feel guilty, Rose -- just enjoy your long weekend with your son and be glad we have the capability of weather forecasting!
PODA:
*Take newsletter to bulk mail at post office.
*Bake a pumpkin pie
*Continue with the fling mood I'm in. I took everything out of my dresser and am washing it -- then I'll only put back in what I really want to keep.
*Take decorations and stuff to the church.
Happy pre-Thanksgiivng, We
Happy pre-Thanksgiivng,
We had a light dusting of snow this am, but nothing that's really sticking. Good thing b/c my father and step mom are driving up from TN. (Bad weather would cause them to cancel).
Rose, sorry the weather affected your trip, I hope you and DS enjoy plan B.
Lois, you seem to be on a roll with the Flings (YEA!!)
Jo, Are you going to see HP too?
Jamielea, your menu sounds yummy. Thanks,I had forgotten about deviled eggs, they're DDs favorite. I'd better go boil some eggs.
Andrea, thanks for the compliment

ENJOY THE DAY WITH FAMILY (keep focused on what's important and don't stress the small stuff, i.e. get over the perfectionism)
Have a great day.
Can I TADA my mom? LOL!!
Mom has gotten dinner all made for tonight (stuffed shell, yummy!!), biscuits and cornbread made for stuffing tomorrow, living room and dining room clean, pumpkin pies made. Will make the pretzel salad tonight. Right now, she and my grandmother took the girls to town for shopping (new shoes and a few last minute groceries). DH and stepfather took the 4-wheelers out for an adventure with Chance, and I am at home with the baby and going to try to take a nap.
Drew had first checkup today. Has gained an ounce (wonderful, since most babies lose a few ounces in the first few days). My milk came in yesterday so my boobs hurt. LOL! That TMI? Went to ball game last night and of course people could not believe that I was there/how cute baby was/etc. I, of course, basked in the attention. LOL!
If I don't "see" ya'll til then, have a WONDERFUL Thanksgiving!!! Lots to be thankful for this year!!
Yay Jenny!!!!
Congrats Jenny! My post didn't post on your blog for some reason, but the pictures are great! Drew is a real cutie - I love the one with your Gram and Drew. You guys are doing great - hope the next few days go well. Sounds like your milk will be flowing well - go glad your Mom is there to cook and clean. Lydia (my DD7) and Drew will share a birthday now - cool! We were rollerskating while you were in the throes of labor!!
Hi Susan - when is your party exactly?
Hi Rose and Lois!
Andrea
Congrats, Jenny!
Isn't it WONDERFUL to have a helper after baby comes? I love that.
Welcome, Shayne! I don't do much flying myself, but still poke my head in from time to time.
Lucky ducks, with the snow. My children are longing for snow. Too bad for them, I guess.
I'm not anywhere near where I need to be for tomorrow, BUT
*Olivia helped me make the double-layer pumpkin pie
and
*DH painted the last living room wall.
And I cleaned the perpetually stinky bathroom.
Here's what's left on my Word list, with the TA DA's checked off:
Baths--done
Bedtime--done
Straighten--done
Vacuum upstairs--done
Restart laundry
Fold laundry
Run dishwasher
Wash extra dishes
Sweep kitchen
Mop kitchen
Prepare squash casserole
Print out thanksgiving pictures—done
Steam clean
Not much done so...what'm I doing here, you ask? Procrastinating, of course. I'll be up late tonight. Might as well try to defrost the turkey a little faster while I'm at it. Toodles!
Susannah
Happy Thanksgiving!
Good morning, Ladies.
Pumpkin pie is in the oven. Smells good!
Hope everyone has a great day. Try not to stress too much!
Lois
PS. Susannah, your double-layer pumpkin pie sounds heavenly!

Happy Thanksgiving!
It's 11 a.m. and time to put the turkey in.
So...
So.... Did we all survive?
How is it that I washed dishes all day as I cooked, washed dishes after dinner, washed dishes before I went to bed, and there were still dishes to be done when I got up this morning????
I went to Wal-Mart at 4:30 this morning, hoping to get a lap-top computer for the church. I left when I heard they had passed out vouchers for them and were all out.
I'm leaving for a bird walk in just a few minutes.
Friday
Thanksgiving went well around here. The good news there's enough leftovers I won't have to cook tonite
DH and children have gone to the YMCA (to work off some of the calories from yesterday). My dad and his wife left this am around 8:30. I was going to go to Michaels but the coupon was for 6-9 am only. Wouldn't have made it by 9, so shopping is postponed until tomorrow.
Lois, sorry for the disappointment at Wal-Mart. I had thought about trying to get one of those laptops for DH for Christmas, but knew I wouldn't be one of the first 20 in line. I'm sure our store didn't have that many.
Jackie, How nice of you to send sil flowers for hosting dinner. I hope we get a chance to see Alexa's christmas photo. She is sooo cute.
Jenny, hope Drew's (or is it Andrew) first Thanksgiving was a good one. And yes most definetly you can TADA for your mom.
PODA
laundry
pick up (just about every room)
put up main Christmas tree (yesterday we put up a slim 7' tree in family room, it is the "star" tree in honor of DH promotions, all ornaments are stars, mostly silver stars)
check for any other areas we may want to decorate (center hall is completed and I added lighted garland to the railing to basement stairs too)
plan for using up leftovers and clear out freezer and fridge for shopping on Sunday at Sams
Lunch, minestrone soup, grape salad and sourdough bread
Supper, turkey dinner
Those who braved the morning shopping, I hope it was successful
Mom is gone
Now I'm on my own! LOL! Funny how it sorta seems that way. But I'm ready. I've got the DW running and a load of laundry. Gotta do sheets today, too. I feel great, ready to get back into things.
Drew is a GREAT sleeper!! He and I dozed in the recliner from about 10 or so til midnight, then wanted some food, slept again from 1 to 6:30!! I know they say no longer than 4 hours, but I'm not going to worry about it. I've got plenty of goods for him, and he is already gaining anyway.
I get my OWN bed back tonight (mom and stepdad have been staying in there. DH and I took the sleeper sofa in the living room so I could be right by my recliner for feedings and Chance could sleep on the loveseat since Gram took his bed). I'm going to pack up SOME maternity clothes (summer stuff and dresses, since I can't wear dresses while nursing, just skirts). But other than that and laundry, just going to take it easy.
Mmmm, turkey sandwiches for lunch!!
Black Friday
I don't actually have much I need to buy, just some ribbon and tape, but there is a new mall open two doors down from my building, next to the supermarket. I'm going to go check out the decorations today.
Otherwise, PODA:
-homework
-wash dishes (I did rinse them last night but ran out of dw detergent, gotta pick some up today at the supermarket)
-work on wrapping gifts/ addressing cards/ etc.
-laundry
Leftovers for food today! Yum yum!
I'm so mixed up...
I thought Becky was picking up ribbons and tape in the huge after-christmas sales to use for next year. Therefore, I was confused when she said she was going to wrap gifts.
Yesterday was only Thanksgiving, right?
Sigh.
...glad to hear you're doing so well, Jenny!

I'm Here
I didn't steam clean the carpet before company arrived, but I did get to it tonight.
Jenny, I'm so glad you are able to get rest!
Also glad you are determining to take it easy.
I didn't do any shopping today other than the local dollar store in town. It wasn't very crowded. I just needed freezer bags and what-not.
I heard some Wal-mart cashier say last week that those laptops were not actually as low priced as they were advertised. I wonder if that was true.
I need to get on my advent project pretty quick here. Paper de-clutter and advent will be tomorrow's assignment.
Love,
Susannah
HI everyone!
HI everyone!
I hope we all had a nice Turkey Day - now onward to Christmas!!
Looking forward to hearing about your party prep Susan!
Glad to see you Jenny - sounds like the little guy is doing great!
Hi Becky and Julie - don't worry Julie, I'm not wrapping either.
Glad you got your carpet done Susannah - our family room needs it, also the cushions on our kitchen chairs - they are ivory. Nuff said.
OK, I'm off to my PODA - won't waste time posting it - will pop in later with a TADA.
Oh, I started a diet/exercise group on the net - peertrainer.com. It is pretty cool. I hope to lose some weight -
Have a great day all!
Andrea

I actually finished my PODA yesterday! It helps when I say I'll "work on" something rather than finish it.
My left wrist hurts for some reason so I'm going to hold off on typing for now.

Updates
Hey Girls!
Jenny - Congrates again on little Drew! I am so happy for y'all. How many kids do you have now? 5? Wow! I checked out your site and saw your picture. You are really pretty.
I got a job, I am going to be working at Sears as a stocker for right now. Not much above Min. wage but it is better then nothing.
I am doing good on my flying. I am now done with my baby steps and I can not tell you how much it has changed our house. My parents came over yesterday, and mom is a clean freek. I usually have to do the mad dash to prep. for her to come over, and yesterday I didn't have too. Not that I didn't want to, but my house was clean!!!! I can't believe it. Just a little bit every day really does help.
I have no dirty dishes, no dirty clothes, most of the surfaces in my house are clean, my bed it made, and I am dressed. It's just awsome! God I hope it last!
Got to run. Think I am going to sew for the rest of the day.
Love,
Ilse
Five!!!
No way!!! Don't give me anymore, four is enough for me!! LOL! Yes, I have four, five if you include my hubby. Susannah is the one with 5, though 6 is on it's (his?) way.
I did two loads of laundry yesterday and changed sheets on my bed (and washed pillows, too. Just felt like it). Today I took the leaf out of the dining table and put it back into place, unloaded the dishwasher and cleaned up the kitchen a little bit. DH is out hauling hay, so just me and the kids. I'm going to do at least one load of laundry. I updated my website a few minutes ago, would like to get more desk stuff done. I finally figured out why I can't keep my desk clean. Because I have no drawers! Must be!! I think I'm going to get me some rubbermaid drawer roller things to see if that helps it. Probably not. I'm just a slob. LOL!
I feel bad not putting in personal comments to you all, but hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!! I can barely find time to post as it is!! Babies do that, don't they?
Romper room hellos to all!!
Good Evening! Happy Belate
Good Evening!
Happy Belated Thanksgiving!
Just got in a couple hours ago from the DC area. I got to see my cousin who I have not seen in 20 years!! And we didn't tell her we were coming so boy was she surprised. It was GREAT. Had a very traditional dinner with all 14 of us sitting together, eating off real plates. I loved it. With DH's family,it's usually paper plates and everyone scattered all over the house cuz there isn't room for all,not the way I would do Thanksgiving.
So no flying to speak of here.
Susan-if you didn't have your party yet,the one thing I can suggest is a coat rack. With that many people you will need a place for all those purses and coats,etc....
Jenny-I will hop over to your blog in a minute to check out the little guy.
Hope to post a PODA in the morning.
See Ya
Heidi
Same PODA as before
My days at home have rather a sameness to them! I've been doing as many Flylady e-mails as I can stand per day too.
Today homework takes priority. I'm going to do homework until the dishwasher finishes washing (just started it). I usually do the bulk of my homework during my off hours at school, but with TG vacation I have to remember that I have fewer off hours at school and should make them up.
Otherwise, PODA:
-take out trash
-wrap and mail holiday gifts/ cards/ etc.
-put away laundry (I washed and dried more yesterday, plus hung up a bunch to dry which should be dry and put-away-able now)
-whatever Flylady e-mails I can stand to do
What, nothing new?
Everyone doing Monday Morning Homeblessings or something? Catching up after the weekend, maybe? Me, too. I'm not going to post until there's a new forum. Since I'm not a regular, I don't know how you guys have this thing going now.
We had a very productive weekend, but also managed to relax a bit, too. There's a nice group of FlyPals here, we did a "Thanksgivingfest" the week before Thanksgiving. They're nice, but I don't know them well yet. In time...
