Christmas/Holiday card exchange

So--
ATTENTION ALL TNH MEMBERS/FRIENDS!!!
Those of you who have participated in our card exchange in the past already know how much fun it can be--especially when there are pictures included of our good imaginary friends and the families we've shared so much about with one another over the years!
Anyone who wishes to participate, please email me at julhome@zoominternet.net
Just send me your snail address, and I'll add you to the list. Actually, I'll be glad to include other info as well...some of us have lost track of people's current email addresses, etc. I could actually make it a full-blown directory with spouse's and kids' names and ages and everything. Just include anything you are willing to share with our special little group--and whether it's ok to include your email on the list.
Also...if any of you have lists of addresses from the past couple of years, please pass those along as well. There may be some fellow TNHers who are MIA lately, but we'd still want to send them cards!
Looking forward to hearing from everyone!

Yoo-hoo! Anyone out there?
Hey everyone, I've only received emails from three of you so far. So, I'm moving this thread closer to the top again.
I'll also need your comments about what sort of deadline you'd like on this. December 1? December 7? Whatever you all say.
Timoney, yes, you will be emailed a list, and you can then send cards to the folks on the list. You'll also receive them in return. It's fun!

FUN
This will be fun guys! I've done it for several years and it is neat to get cards from tNH friends - photos are good too! Even if there are no kiddos involved! I am wondering about Hope - she may have just gotten too busy with her new house, grandkids, etc. I do have an address I think.
Just sent you an e-mail!
Thanks for taking this on, Jul!
I have Hope's old addy but not the new one.....
maybe it would still be forwarded.
Jana
Thanks!
Thanks for all the updates, everyone. I don't know how things work in Canada, but in the U.S. your mail will be forwarded for one year. I don't think Hope moved more than a year ago, so if we can't find a new address, maybe we should try sending to the old and crossing our fingers.
Maybe we'll get it returned with the new address stuck on it?
If we mail her stuff, it should smoke her out into the open again!!!

she moved in May
or thereabouts, so we can always try again for Easter!!

Monday evening
Thanks to all who have replied and/or sent me emails. No one has yet mentioned a preference on when these lists get distributed, so unless I hear otherwise, I'm going to shoot for December 1.
Later!

My 2 cents!
I think we need the "over the pond" addresses pretty soon to get them going but the other ones would be fine for Dec 1. The sooner the better for me. You know I like to have time to procrastinate!
Jana
That sounds like a great idea!
I emailed you with all my info. I can't wait!
I'm sending you mine soon
I've been out of town. Will do it by the end of the week.
Last posting date
Our last posting date from the UK to the USA and Canada is 12th December, so 1st December is fine by me
Deadline
OK, let's set a deadline, then, of Friday, 11/25--the day after Thanksgiving. I will compile the list and email it out sometime over the holiday weekend.
Have a great day!

backing out gracefully.......
I have been looking at my budget for Christmas, and things are dire as usual at this time of the year. I am having to reduce spending down to a minimum and sending lots of cards abroad costs quite a bit. I was going to print out a letter and photos to send too, but the printer has run out of ink which is £30 to replace (about $51!) so that's not going to happen before Christmas either.
I'll have to give the exchange a miss. Could you take me off the list please Julie? Maybe next year!
Thanks
I know how you feel...
I've started planning to make tins of cookies for everyone--but I'm planning cookies that I already have the ingredients for!
Thanks Honey. Take care.

Don't leave the List, Honey!
We ALL understand the $$$ situation, but I know that I'd love to send my holiday greetings to YOU and Ds regardless...we know you'll be sending us heartfelt good wishes and that will be just fine, thank-you-very-much!
Love to all!
Blessings,

exactly
I want to have your address to send you a card! If you feel really bad about it you can send me an e-card.
Thanks
Thanks, you guys
Ditto!
Jul, I too would like to send a card to Honey and her son. No card needed in return
Pssst.....
I was going to leave her on OUR end of the process, because I knew that's how you all would feel!

Jules,
Have you emailed the addresses? I haven't received anything.
Jana
Your mother got married???!!!!!
Well, yes you have been a little busy! Take your time and congratulations!
Jana
It's done!
OK--I've emailed the directory out to everyone who submitted.
If I accidently missed anyone, PLEASE let me know. That was a lot of emails coming in (sort of) at once.
Take care!

Julie
I didn't get a list. I'm sending you a pm here with my address and email.
no list here
Julie, I've sent an e-mail. I hope it comes through. Did you previously get my addy?
thanks
Got mine.
Just letting you know at least one went through!
Jana
Me too
Got mine too!
M
no list here either
Did you send it as an attachment with nothing in the body of the message? Yahoo filters those out.
I don't get it!
Jamie and Becky's addresses were both on the group send list...grr.
Becky, it was an attachment, but there was also a message in the body.
The only other thing I can think of, is that I sent it from work instead of home...do your programs block mail from addresses not in your address book?
Dunno.
Julie

got it
I got the one you sent this morning, thanks a bunch!
Check this out, you organized card senders!

LOL at the blog
Julie, that's a possibility. I'll put your address in the address book or safe list or whatever it's called. Then would you be able to re-send it? Thanks!
I got it!
Thanks so much! I'm sorry to put you to trouble. Yahoo has been filtering out things it shouldn't and letting in things it should filter.
I could use an "angry" smilie too!
Signed, sealed.....(almost) delivered!
Whooooooooo hoooooo! One more "check" on the TODO list! My Holiday Greetings are signed, sealed, addressed, and stamped (except for the overseas friends)!!!
They'll be hitting the post office tomorrow!
Blessings,
Lenora

Sorry...
When I made up the time table, I forgot to allow for one important detail:
My mother got married today! It was just a small gathering, but I fed everyone, so I've been busy shopping and cooking and cleaning up.
I promise, I didn't forget! It's late Monday now, I'll get your lists out Tuesday morning!
Thanks.
Julie

done
You're in my address book now so it should work.
Sorry Anhata!
I missed you entirely, I think because I was scanning my inbox for names, and your email address didn't jump out at me, since it's the business name. I will get you all fixed up--probably later today, since I'm supposed to be working now...oops!
Julie

That must have been it...
Hey Becky...I had already "re-sent" on Nov. 30...so you didn't get that one either? Oh well, you added my address, and I just sent it again, so we'll see-oops, I did an attachment like the first time, and when I sent it the second time I put it in the body...Lemme go do another one just in case.
