Here is our November challenge. Congratulations to all who completed one or more projects in October! Remember, list your 5 oldest projects and pick one or two to finish by the end of the month.
Mine:
-the infernal cross-stitch snowman
-cross-stitch cardinal
-knitted cat bed
-Christmas stocking for my mom's birthday (Dec. 7)
-angel for a Christmas tree
I am going to finish the cross-stitch snowman. No promises on the other stuff!

Ok, I'll try it again
-gram's quilt for xmas (quilt and binding)
-Chance's quilt for bed (quilt and binding)
-rocking chair cushions
-fix ties for crib bumper
-curtains for kitchen (easy if I could just pick a fabric I like)
I'm just going to leave it at that because 1) I gotta have a baby sometime in the next week or two and 2) those quilts are a pretty big job!! I've decided with Gram's I will hand quilt it all, but Chance's I still may do machine and hand quilting on it. Or would that look dorky?
Mine
1. Knitting: Eggplant alpaca pi shawl.
2. Knitting: Plastic grocery bag strip grocery bag--yes, I'm knitting grocery bags into a grocery bag. Really kinda zen when you think about it.
3. Sorta weaving: Moving my table loom from the garage to the basement.
4. Knitting: Two pairs of socks--I need to finish the second sock of both.
5. Spinning: Blue-green Romney pencil rovings from Black Sheep Gathering that Lou cut into lengths (aaarrrrggh!)
I'm aiming for 3 and 4, continuing to put a dent in 1, putting a dent in 5 and cajoling Josie into slicing up bags for 2.

Another try
The sweater. Again. I'll probably feel more like working on it as the weather gets colder.
The scarf I'm knitting for my mother for Christmas. This I should definitely finish--I've been trying to do at least 3 or 4 rows a day and I'm making good progress. I'd really like to leave it under her tree when we visit at Thanksgiving.
All other projects have yet to be started and should probably stay that way until after Christmas (unless the work I'm supposed to be doing for my SIL comes through and I end up sitting in a quiet shop for several hours a day).
Another project has reared its ugly head
I managed to break one of the stupid ugly Duette blinds in the living room--the only one that wasn't falling apart of its own volition. I'm so mad at these things, I bought some from JCPenney when I first moved into this house 18 years ago and they're going strong but the new ones I got have all fallen apart within 4 years. So tomorrow I'm going to get the sewing table cleared off enough to work and see if I can at least get window quilts made for the front windows.

One and a third bobbins down
...two and two-thirds to go. This is of the blue and green Romney.

I'm in
I had three unfinished projects at the start of October - I finished two and made a lot of headway with the other. I also knitted a scarf for my Mum and started one for a friend, and made some dishcloths with Christmassy yarn, so I was quite productive last month
Now I need to work on
Finishing the scarf for my friend. It's in a 'fun' yarn (Plume) which is variegated, autumn colours.
Finishing the Country Companions cross stitch I am making for my aunt.
A bookmark for a young friend who is 15 this month.
Making a card (does that count?) for my brother's girlfriend's birthday next week.
I have a few other things to make for Christmas, but the ones I have listed are the ones I want to finish this month, as a minimum.
Oh, alright!
I have some Christmas ornaments that I bought in 1999. I will finish at least 4 of them for gifts this year. They are just small little ornaments so that should work!
DH and I will be married 10 yrs on Friday. I have a golf cross-stitch that I started BEFORE we were married. I think I will finish it and donate it to a church bazaar or something. He is not really into golf that much anymore. That will be a goal too!
Jana
congrats on the anniversary!
And on the lack of golf!
