I'm tadaing starting the new

I'm tadaing starting the new thread! LOL!

Morning all!! Hope ya'll enjoyed Desperate Housewives last night. I tried to talk DH into watching it, but he was busy flipping back and forth between "The Girls Next Door" (show on E! about Hugh Hefners current girlfriends. They were doing their photoshoot for Playboy last night, Ugh) and some hunting show (whoohoo, let's shoot a moose). Then we watched "Ali" because I forgot to take those movies back yesterday (despite having them all ready to go by the door). didn't like it. Couldn't even finish it.

I can tada a couple loads of laundry and finishing a quilt top.

I spent an hour this morning at the school going to all the elem. classes to remind the girls I need cheer forms and money by thursday. Shouldn't have took me that long, but many had lost their forms, I had to make copies, paper jam in the copier, needed a code for the copier, on thing after another....anyway. home now. I have lots of lower back pain since last night. Ugh. Not sure what I will get done today. My news I have to do, though, and more laundry. Unload DW. Create my database for the cheer stuff (oh, lordy, a very LARGE girl has signed up for cheering. I hope I have a uniform that will fit her, I don't have the money to order another one). I want to finish another quilt top too, while I"m at it.

Ok, time to get busy. Or to IM with a friend first. LOL!

Getting used to FLYing

Hey girl,
We have a saying that fits you. "your running around like a chicken with no head on." Girl take 15 and put a heating pad on that back of yours.
I'm still at the computer putting my face on. UGH! I hate this stuff. I'm still learning how to put it on. Spent 20 minitues trying to shape my eyebrowns! oh lord!
I kind of like waking up to my clothes layed out. Want to start on my control jornal but don't have any paper. Hopefully hubby can get me some next week.
Had a better day yesterday then the day before. My Friends husband showed up in the middle of church, while I was at the alter rail praying, asking me to watcher her kids. After everything that happened I just shook my head no. I was so embarresed.
I finally go the sink emptyed last night. Hot to get it shined in a little while. then the DW, clothes, shake the bed, sweep, check hot spots and maybe try 15 min on the table in the craft room. It's kind of scary though.
Got to run DH will be home in just a bit. btw DFD4 is feeling much better thanks for the good thoughts.

Not in the mood

Just can't seem to interest myself in anything today. Is that awful?

I think I am experiencing some serious burnout from all my extracurricular activities. Or maybe everyone around me really is a demanding, unsympathetic, unappreciative pain in the you know what.

Chatted on the phone for a long time while DD2 tore apart my office then let her create a playdoh like material from a mixture of PB&J sandwich and strawberry applesauce. It seemed innocent enough until I had to clean her off . . .

Sorry your friend's husband is being a creep, Ilse. Guys like that rely on you being embarrassed to get away with things. Don't be afraid to stand up for yourself!

Gotta do some freelance this afternoon and try to map out the rest of the week. And laundry like crazy. What is going on with the clothes in this house?

Lovely fall day

Grass cut, laundry done, played outside, sent quilt off to Walter Reed, big batch of spaghetti sauce made and frozen in meal-sized portions, played outside with the kiddo. I'm feeling good.
Jenny, I saw the pictures of the snake and all I can say is AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKKKKK!
and EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEKKKKKK!
and don't expect a visit from me anytime soon!!!
Rose

jennye's picture

Oh, come on Rose! Can't you

Oh, come on Rose! Can't you handle a little bitty snake! LOL! hehehe, that's how I keep liberals away, my pet snake collection in my yard. LOL!

Well, what is going on with me today. Um, maybe I'll do all those things I didn't do yesterday! LOL! I got a box of clothes yesterday from my mother, so I need to sort those (baby things, but mostly 12 month stuff. Some 3 month things). DH wants me to get my bag packed, he is now scared that it will be any day now. LOL! He's spent month not even treating me like I was pregnant! Actually, he spent last night not thinking I was, since I had to keep getting up to take care of one kid or another while he watched TV.

ARG, and I just discovered he cleaned out the ice bin for his little cooler. Now I can't have my morning coke!!! Jerk!

Ya'll have a good one!

Started today with 2 flat tir

Started today with 2 flat tires! DH came to the rescue and changed the tire, dropped off car and took DS and I to the high school. I had signed up to help sell tickets to Thursday's fall concert. The lady who was selling tickets with me offered me a ride to Big O, car was not ready so we went out for breakfast and then to pick up car. DD19 called and said she invited to ROTC cadets to stay with us friday night as they were testing here in Louisville on Saturday morning. She may ride down from Purdue with them Smiling I am suppose to be talking to a group of about 25 women friday night about menu planning (my canned talk I gave at church last year). I may have to adjust the time somewhat. I will know more tonight about what time they will be arriving on Friday. Yesterday I wasn't to motivated to work on the house, but now company this weekend and then next weekend my aunt and uncle from Iceland and my mother and her husband from Mississippi and my brother will all be in for a visit. I'd better make a plan and start cleaning and planning menus. so...

PODA

Need a REALITY CHECK!!!

I don't know what comes over me when I hear that company is coming. I have just spent the morning obsessively cleaning the kitchen. NOT the FLYLADY way at all. I have used pinesol on all countertops, murphy's soap on all wood cabinets, dusted all cabinet tops, reorganized a few cabinets and now I'm starting on the windows with ammonia. Also, I've done 3 loads of laundry. Luckily, I had to pick up DS from school so I could take a break. He's having his snack and after school TV time (the timer just went off so it's time for him to start homework) After his homework he will be dusting the first floor, then supper and off to boyscouts. I've got to get to the windows while it's daylight.

We wouldn't happen to be on the kitchen zone this week. I could then just say I was doing my detail work in the kitchen Laughing out loud

I'll check in again later,
Susan

Susannah's picture

Hi all!

I did great yesterday...got up "early" (for me), cleaned the upstairs which hadn't been vacuumed in an age. Cleaned the kids' bathroom (it stayed clean until bathtime, anyway). Homeschooled lite, and ran our monthly attendance report in to the school board building, deposited some money in the bank, and picked up groceries for supper. Folded and put away lots of laundry. DH was down, though, so the day didn't end as great.

Today I homeschooled semi-lite (didn't get to math) and did laundry. Chatted with DH on the front porch. I'm about to start some tuna casserole. Should've e-mailed Jenny for her recipe! But, there's allrecipes; already been there.

Hope to help DH start applying to colleges tonight. We've only sent one packet so far, but I've printed off a stack of places to apply to. Meanwhile, his counseling/home visitation work is getting off to a slow start. I'll be chewing my fingernails til the mortgage gets paid this month. I'd arrange some hours to work myself, but I don't want to mess up his times for appointments.

I really really want to update my blog, but am having a hard time finding sufficient blogging time. For some reason, the blog seems to be bugging DH.

Ilse, what a bummer about your friend's DH. Sad BTW, she actually asked you *while* you were praying? That seems odd.

Well, off to the kitchen.

Later!

First post here

Let's see...did my AM routine. Got DD6 and DD5 ready for school and on their buses. Did writing lesson with DD5. She can now print her first name! Read to DS2. Painted with DD5 and DS2. Cleaned paint off walls, table and chairs. (I was even in the right zone...thank heaven for washable paint as I have some aspiring Jackson Pollocks in my house.) Did homework with DD6. Took the whole posse to playground. DD5 decided to cut her own hair...YIKES...gave improptu haircut to DD5. I did such a nice job, that I cut DD6's hair also. Bathed the kids, tucked them in. Home alone until DH returns tomorrow. I wish I had a good movie to watch.

They are almost done with the house, there's a guy here today putting down shoe molding, then a guy comes Monday to do the tile in the foyer. Then there's my "you missed this" list that they need to take care of. Anyway, it looks great and almost back to normal downstairs Smiling

I saw pictures

They were eye-poppingly *gorgeous.* What a beautiful home you have, Susan! The flower arrangement was awesome.

Welcome, Leanne! Brave woman, allowing paint. I've only done tempera once or twice, for fear of tracking problems (they step in the puddles and track it onto the carpet).

TA DA:
*Made it to school pictures. Four out of five children cooperated. Yippee!
*Made it to history co-op. Most of it was reading aloud. Note to self: plan more active session next time. But the bigger girls enjoyed it.

Now I'm just sitting around feeling tired. But, I've got to get supper going and find a new read-aloud.

Pray for DH. He needs a guardian angel on the road today; suffered insomnia last night and did not sleep a wink. He's gone to an appointment for work and he is determined to pick up a gallon of paint to try out on the walls tonight. I'm thinking he's not going to stay awake long enough. At least he'll sleep tonight.

Last few days

I have been crashing and burning on my FLYing. DH and I are in the process of moving our home 70 miles. I have spent the last 48 hours doing permits, soil test, looking at deeds, finding out about sewer systems (who knew poop could be so complicated!), and talking to movers. At this point I am so tired I don't care about the Laundry, or anything else. Going back tomorrow to do more permits and work on the electricity, and sewer stuff. I finally have a date of the 18th to move. That in and of it's self is a major accomplishment to me. I am shooting for us to be in our new home, lights, gas, and water by Halloween. We might just make it!

Yes my Friend's son came up and disturbed me at the alter, while I was Praying. When I turned around she was coming down the aile asking if I could watch her kids. I just shoot my head no. Had an anxiety attack all durring church and couldn't quite crying.

DFD4 is doing better but still not up to par. Keep her in your thoughts. Her name is Precious.

I am now on Day 11 of baby steps. Tell me what you guy do for your inspirational page. Do you just write down quotes or glue pictures or what? I would like to know.

Jennye, are you going to cook the snake. Snake is good fried, sorry don't have a reciept for you though.

Rose, Living in Louisiana you get used to snakes. There are 5 Pit vippers (venomous snakes) in the US, all 5 live here.

* Finally dropped all my good will stuff off
* Cleaned out my Truck / Azteck, hey she works like a truck.
* Fed fish
* fed kids
* lunch with mom
* Had Perp test done
* got move date scheduled
* checked hot spots

got to run, will talk to you all soon! I hope
Ilse
P.S. the place where we are moving has the most beautiful little creek behind it. Just full of Water Mochasines.

COOK THE SNAKE!!

God no!!! LOL! Besides, it was just a baby. Not even a foot long. Only enough for a meal for one of my cats. LOL!

DH killed a wild boar today. I tried to get him to process it, but he was NOT for it. LOL!

Big problems today. Our crop may have gotten hailed out. DH was cutting and a sudden storm came up, dumped a ton of rain and hail on it. We are waiting to see if anything can be salvaged. What's worse is, the FSA (Farm Service Agency) office screwed up and FORGOT to sign us up for insurance on it!!! So if it is declared disaster, we get NOTHING, NADA, ZIP, ZILCHO!!! $75,000, down the drain! Everything. I'm depressed, but not as bad as DH is. I don't want to be here when he gets home. I don't know how I'm going to keep the kids from grating on his already raw nerves.

Flying today? HA!!! LOL! Got groceries and took him lunch on the swather (before the rain and hail, when it was 90 outside and still sunny), didn't do haircuts. DS3 isn't that shaggy yet. Leftovers for dinner, WW for DH (and probably some beer, too. Lite beer of course).

That is just horrible. I will be sending good thoughts your way. I hope everything is salvageable.

CHOAS reigns in my house. I have been busier the past two weeks than ever in my life. Trying to get two jobs up and going at the same time is too much. I should have said no to the tutoring, but we need the money. I will just have to perservere and *get through* the next 8 weeks. DS15 invited his whole soccer team to our house for dinner tomorrow. GAK!

TADA
I have been up early all week

cleaned shop bathroom
emptied garbage

dinner: Puzzled
sweep the first floor-it's soooooo bad
clean the bathrooms-ditto above
go to the school board meeting to try and convince them to offer traditional math as well as the "connected" crap they are doing now

Hi Rose, Ilse, and Susannah!

Susan, I saw 4 of the 8 photos - very nice home! I had pictured you in a neigborhood though. Are you out in the country or is that just a large lot? Love the little dormer windows! I actually drive by a couple of very similar Capes on my way to work every day.

Becky- how'd the exam go? and babysitting? By the way, Happy New Year!!

The playdate went really well. DD and this friend are 2 peas in a pod. I hope that no news is good news since we haven't heard anything from Jenny yet. I am keeping my fingers crossed for them.

Next week is a short week, the kids have Thurs and Fri off. Jewish holiday. Our district is heavily Jewish so we get all the Jewish holidays off. Maybe,if the weather cooperates,we can do a hayride somewhere in the country one of those afternoons.

Think I'll throw some burgers on the grill tonight and make a salad, outta ideas today. I hear the bus so will see you all tonight or in the morning.

Have a good evening!

Finally!

Well I finally got all the permits for us to move and a move date of the 18th so if I go down for a few days you know what's going on. As for the house, it is not too bad, but I am dying to do 15 minutes in my craft room tonight. Now is the easy part.

Jennye sorry about the hail, but you are not the only ones who lost crops this year. Looks like the sugar and rice farms in South Louisiana have just been distroyed. Got a suggestion for you. Next time your husband goes huntin' and doesn't want what he shoots, see if your local foodbank will take it. I know ours takes deer durring the season. They may even process it for you.
FLYing low,
Ilse

Susannah's picture

Jenny, Prayers

I sure do hope you get something out of that crop. Your poor DH!

Ilse, yikes, water moccasins. At least they're kinda shy of people. It's those cottonmouths that are a little scary. I hope you have a great move!!

Jo, my sympathies on an overpacked schedule. You are one tough woman! I'm going nuts just making baskets here. See next graf.

I didn't really get much accomplished today. The girls and I worked on some baskets that are supposed to be gift baskets for my mom & sis. We're having a little get-together for Emma's 2nd birthday on Saturday. My sis's birthday is also Sat. and my mom's is Monday. I still haven't thought out what to put in the baskets. Suggestions are welcome.

For the menu, I think I might make Shaun's kale/potato soup, since sis is a vegetarian. Plus breadsticks and a layer salad. Mom is bringing a bakery cake for sis and Emma.

Not sure when I'm going to pull all this together. The house is taken apart, as DH has been spackling the walls for me. All the furniture got moved away from the walls and the pictures are down. Trying to keep little hands off them. I have laundry piled up in every stage except "folded and put away." And the dishes have been backed up two days. I did, of course, take the time to blog just now.

Hey, that's right, I have cherry Coke. Rocket fuel! Gulp, gulp, gulp...aaaahhhh, I can feel it working already. Here I come to save the daaaay!!!!

Well, first I have to put kiddos to bed. *Then* I can save the day.

Wow, I hope you guys are okay, Jenny. I'll be praying!

Love,

Susannah

jennye's picture

Evenin' all!! Thanks for t

Evenin' all!!

Thanks for the kind wishes! We drove by today and it's trying to stand back up, so some of it may be salvagable. Now the trick is going to be waiting for it to dry out enough to get in there and cut it before frost. If it isn't cut before frost, then the uncut hay gets nitrates released in it, turning it poisonious. Haying is a tricky business. If it DOES freeze before it's cut, we have to wait a month or so for the stuff to completely die and then test it to see if the nitrates are still present. When baling time comes (regardless if it was cut before or after frost), it then has to have perfect humidity. Too dry and it loses nutritional value. Too wet, then after it is baled it will get too hot and spontaniously combust, burning down a barn, hay, and ruining our reputation. Baling here has to be done in the middle of the night, when we have any humidity at all. Yeah, that, and baling will be right when I'm going to have this baby! I will probably be on my own getting myself to the hospital.

No, the government won't admit it was an error on their part. It's the government. LOL! They just called us a few months ago and said, "oh, you missed the deadline, sorry we didn't tell you we had moved it earlier, better luck next year."

And Ilse, he wasn't out hunting, just happened to shoot the thing out in the field from the swather. He was actually concerned that the boar was being poisoned, that was why he didn't bother with it, they aren't native out here (we have deer, antelope, elk, coyotes, badgers, rattlesnakes and turantulas, and I've seen a bobcat or two). Someone had let them loose or lost them or something a year or so ago. The only reason he really shot it was because it was acting aggressive. Anything aggressive, we shoot. He got a few coyotes yesterday, too. There are a couple of dogs that show up every now and then around here (looks like a Rotweiler and a Chow), and next time they get close enough for me to get, I'll be shooting them, too. There isn't a neighbor for 2 miles here, so it probably isn't some neighbors dog, just wild ones. I shoot 'em, I don't care if they are someones beloved pet. Keep them at home. I have children to protect. When Chance was a baby, before he learned to walk, a dog got in my yard (JUMPED my 4 foot fence) and was fighting with my dog. I shot them. I can't take a chance on my children being in the yard and getting attacked by a dog that could or could not be wild and rabid.

Ok, the day was spent not flying. It was cold and raining, so DH and I and Chance went to town, had to get some parts for his truck (power steering pump went out). I'm tired now, my butt nerve is hurting, and I'm just waiting for my ball game to come on. I'm taking the night off (well, besides feeding, bathing, and putting everyone to bed). Easy dinner tonight, I'm thinking PB&J, or spaghetti-Os.

TGIF

I'm actually thrilled it is Friday for a change! Usually, it doesn't matter, one day is just like the next. LOL! But last night, MIL called and asked if ALL the kids could spend the night tonight, again! She wants them right after school, all of them! Almost 24 hours totally childless!

And what am I going to do with myself? CLEAN! No, nesting hasn't hit, but I think it needs a swift kick in the butt. Looking at Susan's pictures of her home makes me want to get things clean. Of course, she doesn't have little ones underfoot, her DS is old enough to somewhat take care of things himself. LOL!

I need to sort winter clothes and pack up summer things. A couple of rooms need to be shampooed (Chance's and mine, mainly). Laundry needs to be done. Decluttering of surfaces and hot spots.

It was a REALLY good night last night. I ignored DH's whining by turning up the TV. The ballgame was GREAT! (Sorry, Jana, not so great for you! LOL! Roger Clemens just CHOKED!). The Braves did AWESOME!!! And it was just a fun game to watch. But then the terror known as Chance hit. I smelled something funny. Didn't think too much of it, just thought DH farted. But then I realized that it was...NAIL POLISH!!! Went in my room and Chance had dumped a bottle of it on my bed. He got into my locked manicure/polish case that I seldom use. Dumped it on my bed. All over a quilt! Luckily, not one I made, one I bought at JCPenney 1/2 sale last year. I got it off of him, though. Bright Pink isn't really his color. LOL!

Ok, so lots to do today. Oh, did I tell you that 29 little girls signed up for cheerleading!! Holy crap!!! I may not have enough uniforms!! Great, now I have to organize and have a bake sale to get more! LOL!

Cya'll!

Good Morning

Susan, I was finally able to get on to the site and see your pic's, it's as lovely and spotless as I had imagined Smiling Thanks for sharing.

Jenny, sorry about your quilt, that sucks!

Heidi, a hayride sounds like fun, we're just getting that kind of weather today. It's been a LONG. HOT. summer here in S. Texas. Glad the play date went well.

Andrea, I decorated for fall yesterday, I'm not much for "halloween" type decor either.

Hi to everyone I missed.

The construction guys are coming back today to grout the tile and that should be it! Yippie! I'm SO tired of having someone here everyday!

We went to Laser Tag with the home school group yesterday, Trey loved it. Savannah was a little angel Smiling But what else would you expect. Laughing out loud
No real PODA but I do need to catch up on laundry and TADA, I changed my sheets this morning. Smiling

SusanY's picture

Just checking in.

The upstairs is finally clean and ready for the gang that should be arriving in about 3 hours. I tried to get out of my talk this evening but, I guess I just wasn't firm about wanting to be home. So I'm heading over to my friends house around 7:30, I don't think DD will be home until 9:00. My plan is to have dinner waiting in the oven and instructions with DS and DH on putting it on the table. They will have already eaten (9 pm is a little late for supper for us Smiling) But it will only be 8 to the kids from Purdue and I know they will be hungry.

Jamielea, glad to hear your house is coming together. Hopefully, the men showed up today and finished their work.

Jenny, woohoo and adult only evening, have fun Laughing out loud

Heidi, it's been raining here all day. A pot of soup sounds yummy, what kind did you make?

Susannah, hope all goes well tomorrow for Emma's birthday. Also, not sure what schools DH is looking at, but we do have a Baptist seminary and a Presbyterian seminary here in Louisville, not to mention several Universities too.

Hope it's a great weekend for all, thanks for the nice comments about our home. My DH left an encouraging note this morning thanking me for making our house a home. Isn't that what it's all about Smiling

After dinner update

Susan, your home makes me say, why is she doing Flylady? She looks born organized!!!! LOL! Very sweet of your hubby to notice and leave you a note!!

Most of what I've done today is laundry. Five loads of it. And somehow I still have all these socks with no mates!! All of the girls summer clothes are in neat piles on the floor. As I did the laundry, I would put more on them. I should have them all done now. Next step, get out the winter things, put away, and put summer stuff in those boxes.

The rest of the day was spent finishing a quilt top. Took a while, but it's done. At 3 I took the girls to Grammies (DH had a fit that he and Chance were busy working on the truck and that his boy couldn't go yet, which was fine with Chance. I got a really cute picture of the two of them under the hood. LOL!). He took Chance over there later. I decided to come home and take advantage of no kids.

No excitement here tonight with no children. LOL! Maybe we will rent a movie off pay-per-view, since there is no ballgame for me to watch. But no "other" excitement. LOL! With my belly, anything like that just isn't gonna happen!! TMI!!! Laughing out loud Just sleep. Good sleep. Would be better if DH stays on the sofa again so I can have the bed and temperature regulation in there to myself! LOL!

What the....

Susan gets a note of thanks and I get
"so now that the construction on the house is done your going to clean it right?" Boy did I get ripped off! Laughing out loud

**there's not an emotioncon/smiley to describe this feeling**

I actually had a mental picture going on in my mind of me jumping on him and beating him to a pulp! The hilarity of that picture in my mind is the only thing that saved him!

Jamielea-throw a punch in there from me too! LOL Men....

Jenny-no kids around and you wanna sleep? Sounds good to me!!

Susan- I ditched the soup idea since I didn't have enough veggie type stuff to throw in so DD and I made cookies instead. That's another good thing to eat on rainy days, right?

Took Ds to Toys R Us tonight to get his friend a gift card for the bday party/sleepover tomorrow. He's looking foward to it,should be fun for him. It's the boy next door's bday party.

still rainy so grass didn't get cut, maybe Sunday afternoon. I'm rambling, see ya all tomorrow.

Happy weekend

Oh man, I don't even have time to describe the amount of stuff I recently stepped into, but my calendar is so full I almost want to cry to think about it. It's not so much that I mind, but I really feel I am shortchanging my family and I am having a hard time fixing it. Anyway, hadn't planned to get into all that! Big grin

Glad you sound chipper, Jenny. I've been thinking of you too, as I've lurked along.

Hope you made that soup Susannah! Thanks for the reminder. Food is like clothing for me -- very seasonal, and I tend to forget what's in the repertoire when it's time to change. Like tonight -- Papa Murphy! (I did make a Caesar salad and some broccoli to go on the side -- and beer of course!)

Love that Hillbilly Homemaker site! I'll have to mark it and go back someday when I have time. Also want to follow that Prairie Homemaker link -- that'd be me, up here in the Great Plains of Minnesota. BTW, I heard on MPR that this region (MN and the Dakotas, where I grew up) has the second most extreme fluctuations in temperature in the *world.* First is . . . Siberia! Gotta love it. We may not be shooting rattlesnakes off the woodpile (well, not here, in South Dakota you could), but we are still tough broads in our own quiet, Ma Ingalls way!

Oh, now I remember eating at a restaurant in South Dakota that actually had rattlesnake on the menu. No, I did not order it, but my cousin did -- came with the rattle and everything!

Well, with so much off topic stuff I guess you can tell that I am not flying high! But I am actually not doing so bad with maintainance work. Speaking of which, off to deal with the DW.

Love to all!

Shaun

A big mess

Well, guess what.

Either DH or Chance decided that he wouldn't spend the night. So guess who I have.

And guess what mess he made last night. Ok, the night before was the nail polish.

Last night, he pooped in his skivvies. A big, messy one. Then he decided that before he would tell me about it, he would try to take care of the problem himself. I get him into the bathroom to throw him in the tub, and he decides to balance himself on my head, with a poop covered hand. Poop all in my hair, on my carpet, my clothes. Ugh. DH was laughing at me as he watched some war movie on TV. No, he didn't get up to help. Just a "sorry dear!" and laughed. MEN!!!!

At least he had the good sense to sleep on the sofa. Chance and I slept in my bed. Fell asleep watching Harry Potter on Disney.

I was trying to finish up the kids clothes last night, when I discovered that DD6 has TOO MANY CLOTHES! So now I'm waiting til tonight when they get home and I can make her try it all on first. But summer stuff is put away.

I'll hopefully have some sort of a TADA today. Gotta pick up the kids then go to a football game at the school at 3, then watch baseball game at 5:30 here.

Good Afternoon! EWWW GROSS

Good Afternoon!

EWWW GROSS,Jenny! I woulda shared some of that "stuff" with your DH so he knew what it felt like!! I'm mean, huh? I did that all over my crib rails when I was a baby, according to my mom.

TADA
morning routine
read paper
paid couple bills
DD to swim lessons
bank deposit
art center rummage sale(DD got a coloring book)
lunch
talked to Mom

PODA
couple calls
take kids to movie,I think
DS to bday party/sleepover
dinner

DH is in bed,not feeling too well. Wish I could lay in bed all day when I feel yucky,I'm jealous! that man has no immune system.he gets sick almost every couple months,I swear.

Still rainy and cold here so going to a matinee seems like a plan, better check movie times and round up the kids.

Have a good weekend all.

I am *so glad* I am not the only one with poop stories...

Thanks for sharing, Jenny, if only for my sake. Ha ha! Yes, I usually get stuck cleaning up the poop too. Although DH got his share while I was at work for that brief time. Heheheheh.

I have one for you...today a kid used a clogged toilet for #2 and then tried to flush it. Flood! I still haven't cleaned out the wet/dry vac from that one. Needless to say, I bleached the bathroom.

The birthday party went pretty well. I even put up a few little streamers and balloons. I'll probably photoblog it eventually. I ended up not finding Shaun's recipe in time (it was in my notebook all along!!!! doggone it!) so I made the basic veggie soup from Leanne Ely and gave the leftovers to my mom & sis with directions on spiffying it up. It was hard getting everything ready with kids underfoot, though. My biggest is a pretty good help, and so is the next youngest, but only with certain things, KWIM? Not the things I *really* need done. Emma had a good time with her presents. We gave the gift baskets to my mom and sis with homemade hot tea mix and chocolate truffles and fruit.

Shaun, I know that "want to cry" feeling from being too booked. One step at a time!

Heidi, your DH and mine. I'm sure my DH's troubles (stomach, insomnia, etc.) are all stress-related from job-searching and all the other crap that's gone on this past year-and-a-half. Following so closely serious stress from three years ago, it's just a little too much.

Well, it's nice to have my sis back from CA. Good to be able to see her at family gatherings now. My mom is doing well, but they had to close her library to the public due to mold problems. So, she's still working, but not her usual hours. They are going to try to move a small part of the collection to a double-wide while they take care of the problem.

Why am I rambling? Probably just because it feels good to sit down and I don't want to get up. I'll spare you!

Love,

Susannah

Morning Everyone!

Ahhhh, that was funny Jenny. Thanks for the chuckle. I do feel really badly for you though!

Hope your DH is feeling better soon Susannah - yours too Heidi!

Shaun, I am the same way about being overbooked. Now that I am FT I am having to be very careful about that. DD6 just joined Brownies so I'm hoping that it won't put me over the edge.

Well, my folks took the kids last nite while DH and I went to a movie in the city and out for dinner with another couple. Then they came back here for a glass of wine. Very nice evening - now they are still gone and the house is quiet! We are puttering, doing odd jobs around the house.

So:

TADA so far:
dw emptied
vacuumed kitchen
ironed Brownie vest and numbers

PODA:
WALK!!!!!!
laundry
Wegmans with a short list
vacuum van
make crockpot chili
exchange propane tank

I have tomorrow off and DH has Monday and Tuesday off so we are a bit more relaxed than usual.

Catch you ladies later - have a nice day!
Andrea

Happy Sunday!

Jenny, remember Cindy's poop story a few years back? She ended it with, "I knew this was going to be a sh***y day."

PODA:
-finish a paper (I'm in the home stretch for it)
-do some other homework
-write another mini-paper
(argh....)
-make some cookies and prep some food for the week
-try and keep up with routines to some extent
-put out some potpourri in a bowls with the magnolia cones I picked up
-make applesauce ornaments

Yesterday's TADA:
-worked on the paper that I am planning to finish today
-did some other homework which is a partnered assignment; e-mailed the partner
-decluttered some paper in the front entrance
-bought some Halloween/ fall flowers
-did some pre-cooking of stuff
-almost finished the doll sweater I'm making (it's fluffy white; the doll in question will be a nice holiday decoration in it, in December)
-attempted to make a tuna can into a heart-shaped cookie cutter (the tuna that was on sale has cans that are rounded on the bottom so that tip isn't working like it used to)
-caught up on dishes, which I had fallen behind on (yuck)
-bought new sneakers on clearance for me and DH, got a free notebook with purchase

I am such a slacker

I woke up at 8:45 this morning!!! I really have to fix my sleep schedule this week. What has gone haywire??

So, obviously, no church this morning as it starts at ten and it takes me 40 minutes to get there.

The only TA DA I have so far is that I put up pictures of the birthday party on my blog. My SIL called the other night and said she was reading it, and I have other family members and distant friends who read it, so that's a convenient place to put 'em.

http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/SusannahCox/

I'm not even dressed yet. I have really got to get myself going. All you busy ladies whose schedules are so booked are putting me to shame. So, PODA:

*Shower, dress to shoes
*Finish folding laundry and put away
*Clean up kitchen
*Do some baking and menu prep for this week
*Find better ways to stash clutter until it can be dealt with. Ugh. It's DH's clutter, so not much I can do. I'm almost inclined to invest in rubbermaid containers, just to get the ugly boxes out.

Jackie, keep popping in! I love to read about your mommy adventures. I hope the wedding is beautiful and free from any incident. Smiling LOL, we are so naive at the altar, aren't we? But I can say after 14 years, it's been totally worth it. What a great guy I've been blessed with.

Later!

Susannah

Hello!

Good Sunday All! Smiling

Let's see, what has happened since Friday?

Went to the Yunan Province show with the homeschool group, it was just so amazing. Mesmerized all 6 kids ages 4-12 for 60 minutes! Then we went for Japanese food-yum.

DD and I flew home after lunch and cleaned like mad. Then at 6 I went down and picked up 6 boys from DS15's team. All in all, I had 19 teenagers and one coach eating at my house Friday. Shocked Good thing we had lots of burgers and dogs and chips and soda left over from last week's open house. They ate and ate and were very energetic and silly. Fun, but exhausting! Then 2 of them stayed the night.

Yesterday I abandoned my home and family (except DD) and went to two craft shows. Got DH a merino wool hat, DD a silver ring, the family a flannel covered lavender filled heating pad thingy. My SIL called spur-of-the-moment with the idea, which was great because it was a crappy, dark, rainy day. She even drove and bought us lunch! It was a fabulous break, and it worked out OK because of all the crisis cleaning from Friday things were in pretty good shape around here. Last night DH made dinner too (makes me wonder what he did) Eye-wink

This morning I went to the baptism of a friend's baby, who survived a pretty serious intestinal infection recently, it was a very sweet ceremony.

OK, on to flying:

TADA
sorted dirty laundry
washed, dried and folded 3 loads
helped DD set up two crystal growing tubs she got for her birthday
turkey, garlic, and squash in the oven
dishes
checked e-mail

PODA
reboot laundry X5
reboot dishes
cut apples and make a pie
peel potatoes
get groceries
help DS13 write a letter to apply as a legislative page
sort clean underwear-somehow that never gets done
talk to DS15 about progress report: one absence in World History? Why?
do some paperwork for tutoring
make sight word flash cards
pay some bills, take them down to the PO so they go out first thing in the morning-whoops Sad

Heidi, I am not formally trained in Wilson yet. The training is the week after next. I'm looking forward to it.

Shaun, I also am feeling dangerously overbooked. I really should not have said yes to the tutoring, but we need the money, and my SIL (the principal) needed someone, or else the kids wouldn't have gotten this extra help. Thank goodness the boys' last week of soccer is this week. I also start a CDL (commercial driver's lisence) class on Thursday that runs 7 weeks. Yikes! Something DH asked me to do. The running away yesterday did help a lot.

I'll try to be better about checking in with y'all this week because I'm much better about the flying when I do. Smiling

Bye,
-Jo

Y'all are a Hoot and a Hollar

I tell you! All this Poop! Thank Goodness all mine have 4 legs. Most they have ever done is gone in the bed in their sleep, or stepped in it and then tracked it all over the house. Specially when they are puppies. When DFD1, Princess, was a baby it looked like cows had invated our home.

I am still not feeling so good. What I thought was a pulled muscle might very well be a kidney infection as I am now hurting on both sides, not just one. Ugh!

Found the guy to do the sewer system. I am meeting with him tomorrow.

I've got 1 1/2 rooms packed so far. Hopefully I will finish the guest room tonight.

My sink is calling.
Love and Kisses,
Ilse

Ssssssnakes

"Little snakes" are not a problem. We peacefully co-exist with a few garter snakes in our yard. Fred is my favourite.
It's the venomous snakes I object to.
And this "liberal" is smart enough to NOT live in an area where there are venomous snakes Sticking out tongue

No, he did it right in the middle of the quilt! LOL! That boy. I have him happy and content right now. Thanks to him, I will be keeping the Sports Package on our satellite. He discovered Monster Trucks on the Outdoor Channel and is totally glued to it! I've now decided that his career choice will be stunt-man. LOL! I only got that package for my baseball games, but between the autoracing and monster trucks for Chance, and hunting/fishing shows for DH, we will have to keep it now. LOL!

Good Morning flyfriends!!

How are you girls?? We are hanging in there- kinda fluttering along each day. Its been a long week- Dh has worked some overttime so we haven't been home much together. Today Alexa is my date at my sisters sil's wedding. SO far I am pretty organized- at least I am showered and just have to throw on my dress and makeup. Big difference from the days when I used to get my hair done to go to a wedding. Now I am just glad to get my dress on and some lipstick on Smiling

Jenny, thanks for cracking me up!! Sorry but that was too funny! My dh would do the same only he would probably puke!! He is dying since I cant change the cat litter box- He does change Lexi's poopy diapers though. He is a good Dad!

I tried to catch up but didnt get too far. Sorry I havent been here and I hope it's ok if I pop in once in awhile. I am going to try to be here more- I really do write posts in my head all day- i just never get here to tell them to you guys Smiling

OK heres a quick poda and tada:
~laid out our dresses
~showered
~went through Alexas pictures last night and got 0-6months organized. tonight if I am not too shot I am going to order some more prints and try to get the rest of the pictures organized
~give Alexa a bath
~breakfast
~pack diaper bag
I hope you girls have a great day. I love weddings and cant wait to see how happy the couple looks. I love that naive romantic in love feeling. Love Jackie

Oh, shut up you Astro fans!!!

Hey, we had you going for 18 innings today, the longest game ever in post season history. That's got to count for something!! LOL!

We will see you next season, as we go for our 15th consecutive NL East title.

Oh, and good luck against those Cardinals. I hear they are a pretty good team this year!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!

Oh, that cracked me up!!!! Thanks Jackie!!

People on remodeling shows are really just spoiled rotten. They bitch and moan about how horrible their kitchen or bathroom is, when I would LOVE to have it for myself. They should come see how horrible mine looks, then they would appreciate how wonderful theirs is and take pity on me and remodel MY house. They could just give me their old stuff! LOL!!

Well, what's going on around here. I'm ditching church this morning. All kids are still sleeping (DD8 had a headache last night, poor baby). DH is going to his parents to work on painting the flatbed he is going to put on his "new" truck. It's the one from The Whore that blew up last year (his dad has an enclosed barn and we do not, yet). I think the girls and I are going to work on trying on their winter clothes then maybe clean their room. Also watch the baseball game at 11 (oh, please, Tim Hudson, win today!!!). No school tomorrow, whoohoo! Columbus Day!! But it's already that time of the month (no, not THAT time of the month! Not for another year! LOL!). Bills. Need to do some desk duty sometime today or tomorrow and work on that. I will work on quilting during the ball game.

Yesterday's TADA was getting Chance's room CLEAN!!!! Well, except I need to shampoo the carpets, but it's CLEAN! Also finished up with his summer clothes/winter clothes, got one of the quilts put together ready to be quilted, watched our high school team lose, watched the Braves lose, watched Texas Tech win.

Ya'll have a good one!
