Pregnancy Updates--fall 2005

jennye's picture

Thought I would start a new thread for this topic, since it is the first day of fall!!! (not that you can tell here, 95 degrees out there!!)

Ok, so I'm 33 weeks along, only 48 days left to go. I think the baby has dropped. Not that it means anything with me, but I can breath easier, but pee 10x more often. LOL!

I had gained 10 pounds at my August dr. appt and got a chewing out by the midwife. I told her I wasn't worried about it, I gained 65 pounds with Chance, I just gain more with my boys than with my girls (I was up to gaining 35 pounds at that checkup). I pretty much just laughed it off. I had a checkup last week and had only gained 2 pound that month. The midwife I saw that day was happy with that.

BTW, there is only one OB/GYN in our two counties. It's a clinic that has 4 doctors and 2 midwives. I see someone different almost every visit, but I know them all there anyway, so I'm not concerned about who I get come delivery day. It's just whoever is on call.

Anyway, I'm now on 2 week visits. I go back next Friday. Everything else is fine, still have that sciatica, but I did overdo the chores last week. Chance and my nephew had their 3rd birthday party at my house, so I had to clean it for 30 people, shampooed carpets, did the yard, etc. I was tired come Sunday. LOL!

Emotionally, DH says I bitch too much. LOL! I don't see a difference, I think I do just as much now as before. Maybe it's because I'm complaining about picking up his socks off the floor because it's so hard for me to bend over with this watermelon under my belly. LOL! It's also hit me that this watermelon has to come out!! The u/s showed another big baby. Chance was 9lb9oz, so that's about what I'm preparing for. I just hope I make it in time for my epidural!!

And if you are really bored, pregnant pics of me are on my website:

Nothing much to report

Thank the Lord! Uneventful pregnancies are my favorite kind.

It's a boy, and he kicks a lot. I scanned an u/s screen capture and put it on my blog:

But, as usual, it's a pretty fuzzy looking picture. My mom always gets so frustrated that she can't ever see a baby in the shot.

I think my next checkup is in a couple of weeks. Last u/s (a week ago?) showed normal development. I declined the AFP, as usual. I'm not "sharing" my weight right now. Smiling It's not too bad yet, that's all I'll say.

Jenny, wow, 9 lbs. 9 oz. is one big ol' boy. I hope it goes easier on you this time. Emma was 9 lbs. 3 oz. Ow!

Later!

The Beginning of a New Adventure....

Well, I am 12 weeks along and went in Monday for my "confirmation" ultrasound - I had switched OBs and they wanted to take a look. This was my first ultrasound. My first pregnancy was wonderful and healthy, very active with a terrific Bradley Birth... was hoping for something similar until the Nurse Practitioner said, "Did you know your having TWINS?" Nothing could have surprised me more!!!!!

So, I go back in on Wednesday for another ultrasound with my OB, and looks like I'll have one at each visit to make sure they are both growing equally and everything is alright.

Still in complete shock, but at least that explains the INSANE symptoms of exhaustion, nausea and depression that I was having!

Anyway... would love to chat with others - especially those with twinis!

Well, as I said before, I'm j

Well, as I said before, I'm jealous! LOL! Congratulations!

As for me, I had just another routine appt. today. I'm on weekly visits now, I'm 36 weeks along. All is well, my weight has stayed the same for the past month (I'm certainly not complaining!! I'm hoping I wasn't going to be as big as I was when I delivered Chance).

I dropped 3 or so weeks ago, now it's just a matter of when. The midwife said she thinks I'll go early, but my other three were all overdue, so wait and see. I'm not sure which would be better. Early to interrupt the the hay cutting, or later to interrupt with the hay baling. I found out the inlaws are going out of town the last weekend of this month, so I"m sure baby would think that would be a good time, since they are supposed be caring for the other three while I'm in labor! LOL!

oh yeah

I am willing to bet money it will be the last weekend of the month, in that case. Any takers? Evil

Well, had yet another checkup

jennye's picture

Well, had yet another checkup today (38 weeks) and all is well. Heartbeat was fine, I've only gained a couple of pounds in the past month (thank goodness!!!). Baby dropped a month ago, so it's still just a waiting game. Saw the other midwife today. She's a sweet girl. Said next week they will check my cervix. I told her I didn't expect any big news, with the last two I was just 1cm at 41 weeks. I just don't dialate til I get to the hospital and then WHAM, I just open up and get to work. LOL! Was that TMI?

Inlaws left yesterday for the fiddling festival in Oklahoma. They will be back Sunday night. Or Monday. Depending on if they decide to stay the night with my SIL or not (I'm saying they will). Becky, you still have bets going for this weekend? LOL!

If all goes as is, I have a busy weekend of taking DD8 to town for a birthday party tomorrow, church on Sunday, town for trick or treating on Monday (I never got around to making my pregnant nun costume). Which kinda ruins my plans to go to town AGAIN on Tuesday to get the new Star Wars DVD. LOL!

Anyway, not much to report. I'll be back next Friday after that appt, if I'm not back sooner with other news.

Update: 11-14

jennye's picture

Had a checkup on Friday, 11-11:

"Come back next week!!". LOL! yup, pretty much the gist of it. He checked my cervix, not dialated at all, which is what I expected. He asked if I wanted him to strip my membranes, and I said no, which is what he had expected. Told me to come back Friday (this Friday) and they will do an ultrasound to check amniotic fluid, and discuss what to do from there. I'm sure they will offer to induce, maybe do a non-stress test. But I think I will have him early that morning and I won't make it to that appt.

Also, for what it's worth. According to the first ultrasound, my due date was ACTUALLY 11-11, not the 9th. BUT, since I was there when this baby was conceived (wasn't I?), and I know when it all happened, I kept my original due date by my last period, which are both concurrent with each other, as the 9th. Which is why I say the 18th (9 days past MY due date). Although if I go to the 20th, that will be 9 days past the docs due date. So, take that as you may. I want this baby out, but not sure I'm ready to induce. HOWEVER, if I do induce, at least I will know I will get there in time not only for the birth (LOL!! You know how I am worried about having this baby in the truck enroute!!), but the epidural as well.

Also, if I induce on Friday, I would be home Sunday. Then I wouldn't miss our first homebasketball game on Tuesday, which, as most of you know, I coach the elem. cheersquad and we will be cheering that game. The girls need me to coach, and my girls need to be there so they can both cheer. Also, all my family will be here (my mom, gram and stepfather is the plan), and would be SO COOL for them all to go to the ballgame. I WILL be at the ball game! Besides, I have the CD for the dance routines! I must be there!!!! LOL!

Update: Ditto

Funny we both had appointments today!

Weight, BP, proteins, etc. all normal. It was glucose and ultrasound day, so I'd skipped breakfast. I drank the yucky stuff then went in to see baby boy. He kept opening and closing his mouth, and rubbing his eye with his hand, just like he was crying! Although the tech said he might be drinking amniotic fluid. But it sure looked like crying to me. Smiling He was probably active because of all that sugar I drank. Everything looks normal. He measures right on target. I think she said two pounds fourteen ounces. So, still due first week in Feb.

Then, off to the lab where I had to sit until noon, and then they drew blood. Then, a quick drive-thru at Taco Bell to assuage my hunger, then home. And that's all. Smiling

so sweet

Susannah your u/s pics are so cute!A boy for you too huh! well thsts awesome. I miss being preggo kinda. Well I think its more that I had my tubes tied and I know (or think I know) that I cant get pregnant ever again. I wish now I had not tied my tubes but I felt under sooo much pressure to do it. DH wanted me too,his mom was after me too, my mom , well everyone who is so kind as to "share" thier opinon of my large family always makes the "so your getting your tubes tied after this one right" comments. No turned to I dont know then to a resigned yes. Now I feel like part of me is missing. Well whats done is done but pregnant women will still make me smile.
Good luck Jenny I hope baby times it just right for your ball game. We had our PTA kickoff night and we were released from the hospital just a day before so that worked out well.Im wishing you a quick and easy labor. Laughing out loud

Still Kicking!

timoneydunlap's picture

Had a doctor's appointment yesterday, and all looks well. There are still two healthy growing babies in there! Saw them on an older U/S machine, so no double checking sex or anything like that, but we saw their hearts beating and legs kicking.
Doctor actually suggested caffine for my headaches! Who knew? He said that a coffee or two a day should keep the headaches away... and today is thefirst morning in close to three weeks that I have woken up pain free! So, I'm happy all the way around - no more constant aches and I get to have my latte each day!!

Other than that, nothing much to report. I am huge for 16+ weeks - closer to the size I was at 7 months first time around. Thank goodness we are going into the cold months!

Best wishes to all!
