At the least a good Plan B
Even if you're going for a full-on epidural childbirth, it's good to have a Plan B. You can't always get the drugs, and then you're left with no coping tools whatsoever.
If you're convinced a "standard" medical birth with epidural and so on is a good idea you may find this book offensive, because it makes no bones about how the Bradley Method views such procedures (badly--I tend to agree, and I had two high-intervention births). But their relaxation methods and birth preparation exercises are invaluable, and I recommend them for anyone considering a natural childbirth. And for those of you not considering natural childbirth, if not Bradley, then learn something, because you need a Plan B.
