back at school

So now I'm at school, which means internet access but no time! I have to get going. This past weekend was pretty productive though. I finished crocheting a hanger cover, and I did some cross-stitching of a snowman Christmas ornament (from a kit). Also tons o' homework. Also DH and I spent some time together watching Buffy DVDs.

Back from camping. PODA:

Back from camping.

PODA:
*Unload camper
*start on mt. laundry (and boy, it's a doozy!! These kids got muddy and DIRTY!!!!)
*work on the house?

Also, Chance is THREE YEARS OLD today!!! Can you believe it!! He is with daddy checking fields right now, so I'm childless (so I can get something done!!). Hard to believe he is three already. sniff, sniff. Had the radio announce his birthday, but he was in a bad mood this morning (think he had a bad dream). DD6 lost her first tooth over the weekend. I'm still sick.

Will check in later, must finish the camper!!

AnneP's picture

just a quick hello goodbye

I have enjoyed my time here, but feel no longer like this is a home...my political, and religious views are completely polar opposite..and I support the web's rights to air them, but have felt for sometime, no longer the abilty (my own patience)lol to constrain myself. I wave good-bye friendly...and move on...
Ya'll take care!

jennye's picture

Anne, I hate to see you go.

Anne, I hate to see you go. I feel much like you on those matters, too. Which is one reason why I left last year. But I missed my fatlady friends. I have those feelings coming back again, myself.

Email me sometime (ess227@yucca.net). Hope we can still get together in October when you come up to your neice's soccer game!!

Back to school here too

It was great to get DD6 back to school -- she was so excited, and it was fun to see her friends calling her name and glad to see her. And it does ratchet down the intensity level around the house!

I'm just taking a quick break to peek in -- forgot to give DH something to ship for me today, so I have to go out again and drop it off.

Sorry to see you go Anne. I confess I am sometimes flummoxed by the unspoken political tensions around here, and I always feel really distressed and saddened when someone decides to go. I feel like I've totally deluded myself about the nature of our little community. It's amazing to me how much under-the-surface stuff can be going on even on an Internet site. But I do understand how hard it is to reign it in sometimes. Smiling And now is of course a time that everyone is pretty emotional.

Better keep going if I want to have a TADA for today!
Shaun

p.s. Happy birthday Chance!!

Hi Everyone. Sorry to see Anne leave the forum. I stay out of political/religious stuff on here since I come here with mostly flylady type needs.

Hope everyone has a good day after a long weekend.

Oh and our trip to PA was really fun. we ate too much, drank homemade wine, played horseshoes and bocce ball and had a bonfire. Good time there.....

Anne, Don't Go!

I'll miss you too much. I have barely gotten to hear from you because I was absent a month.

Becky, glad you're posting. I like the idea of sitting and watching a few DVD's. I'd have to fold laundry at the same time, though.

It's ironic...I sit at work all day, idle. And there is SO MUCH to do at home. I feel a little discourage tonight because my job isn't really a job, I'm away from home where I really want to be, DH is increasingly negative about everything, and no homeschooling is taking place. BUT, I know the Lord has us in this season for a good purpose, and I'm going to submit so I can get to the point as quickly as possible (and hopefully, come home Smiling ). How's that for motivation?

I'm online looking for how to fry zucchini. We'll see how this goes. I'm awful at frying.

Later!

Busy Busy

The boys' soccer season is in full swing, DD started dance yesterday, and I spent several hours doing a mini OAMC session for my mom, who broke her ankle last week, so the house is suffering.

TADA
ran the kids around
made 6 meals for Mom
dishes

PODA
pots & pans
tutor 9-12
sweep
4 loads laundry
take soup over to Mom
pick up boys from soccer
dinner: marinaded chicken breasts, broccoli, rice pilaf
run/walk at some point
get tax stuff in order

Anne, I'm really disappointed that you don't feel comfortable with the political/religious spectrum here. I am far from many here too, but I enjoy considering other viewpoints most of the time. I have read so many ideas and gotten to the root of some strongly held beliefs that I didn't really understand before here because there are posters with such different perspectives and I don't tend to get that in my real life. If I'm feeling tired/vulnerable/whatever, I just avoid the more political threads. I would hate to think that we are letting philosophy polarize and divide us. We'll miss you.

Susannah, I am discouraged too. I am loving being home, but the shop is STILL not done, no idea when it will be, and my severance pay is about to run out. I may end up waitressing or bagging groceries or something. I can't believe that DH has been so stubborn and let it drag on this long (a YEAR next month!). I'm trying really hard not to be frustrated and angry with him. Thanks for helping me to consider that there may be a lesson in this situation somewhere for me.

OK, better go get on it.
Bye,
-Jo

Good morning! Yesterday, I

Good morning!

Yesterday, I got the camper almost all unloaded (just a few coats and DH can get his own music stuff out). Three loads of laundry done, 2 more to go (reg. whites and whites to be bleached). Got the living room/dining room and kitchen fairly clean. Baked a cake, had the inlaws over for dinner (steak, mashed potatoes, brocolli, iced tea), and had just a little birthday party for Chance-a-rooster. He got a couple little presents (a cap gun and a couple of new little semi-trucks and tractors to play with). His real party will be in a couple of weeks with his cousin (they are 6 days apart. We are having a double party like we do every year, but can't until Sept. 17th).

Not sure what I'm going to do yet today. MR is done. DH is around (he is practically off for the next 3 weeks now that everything is planted. Just has hay to haul). I should mow the grass, wonder if that will make my cold worse.

Susannah, I couldn't imagine the role reversal you are going thru! Well, it's one way to be appreciated for all you do at home! LOL!

Ya'll have a good day!!

Shaun's picture

Peace and Quiet!

Ah, school! Things are at such a nice mellow pace the last 2 days! I love my DD6 like crazy crazy, but this is a nice little break!

I feel so much like you, Jo, political differences here. But I did sympathize with Anne this morning when I saw -- without actually reading all the posts -- that certain threads are heating up. It's not so much any point of view is so objectionable, but that I just can't handle the conflict! I had a moment while driving DD6 to school of thinking, "I should take a break too!" But I think I will just not read those threads -- which is hard, because I get so curious! not to mention sometimes feeling that some little fact needs correcting -- but I just so want to believe that there are communities that can rise above the divisive tendencies of our current culture! So like it or not, I'm heeding my own words and staying!

Susannah, I've been thinking of you too. I know when DH was in school and I was working it was really hard for him. In fact he eventually decided to lighten his class load and work part time because he just couldn't stand not contributing financially. I was really surprised -- I would never have imagined he'd feel that way. It certainly didn't bother me (either me not making money at times or him not making money). Anyway, I really sympathize with the strain but I know you will be able to see how God turns it to good for you! And yes, my DH certainly came to appreciate me more -- though he never quite picked up on the household chores, he did do a lot of childcare!

Well, DD2 is doing all she can to get me off the computer, and now she is actually trying using her words and being cute so I think I'll reward that!

Good Evening! Got my PODA

Good Evening!

Got my PODA done. The neighbor boy is over while his mom is at band practice at the high school. That's okay, tomorrow my kids go over there during Open House at school. It works out pretty evenly with our kids playing back and forth at each other's houses.

So,tomorrow night is Open House and Saturday is an LDA awareness event and a bday party. Busy days ahead. It seems that as soon as school starts up everything gets busy outside of school too.

Better get Dd in the tub..see ya in the morning.

Heidi

Susannah's picture

Better today

I think today went better because I had some interaction with my boss, I had a couple of small jobs to do (not long ones, but at least it broke up the day), I came home over lunch (for an hour...not sure yet if that's what I'm allotted), and I used the time to memorize a lot of scripture.

Psalm 127...I'm really liking that one right now. Eye-wink

I also concluded that DH is down in part because I am not meeting a couple of his key needs in the "love language" department. (No, not what you're thinking...well, maybe somewhat.) His is words of affirmation and touch. I kept wondering why he was hounding me about the stuff he'd been doing outside the house. He actually got kind of upset that I wasn't more overjoyed. (I did say "it looks great," and "thank you" but apparently that wasn't what he was looking for.) Well, duh, his love language is words of affirmation (and touch, so I guess he wanted me to jump his bones too). I need to be a bit more of a cheerleader than I am. I was actually thinking last night, "Why are are you picking on me? Can't you tell I'm as tired and discouraged as you?" Ha! Self-pity plus cluelessness...a fatal combination.

So anyway, got a little too personal there. Heh.

We watched a funny movie recently: Shaun of the Dead. Thought you'd appreciate that, Shaun. Eye-wink Actually, this Shaun was a guy and it was a British zombie spoof, if you can imagine that.

I shouldn't really be posting because I have SO MUCH to do in the house and very limited time in the evenings. I'm really crabby with the kids right now because they make so many messes and it's like shoving stubborn mules around to get them to clean up after themselves. ARRRG! I told them not to get games down, then my eldest dumped a bunch out in my closet and LEFT IT that way. I made the one who was playing around with them put it all away; now the boys have gotten into them again.

I think I might start blogging at homeschoolblogger.com, if I ever get breathing space to register. That way I won't take up your flylady threads with a bunch of off-topic stuff anymore.

Later!

Susannah

Make that Shaun of the Living Dead. Sorry, brain malfunction.

jennye's picture

But Susannah, we LIVE for off

But Susannah, we LIVE for off-topic stuff! LOL! Well, I do, anyway. Ms. Off-topic herself here.

Today I did...absolutely nothing. I'm not kidding ya. Other than my MR this morning. Which seemed to have wiped me out. I actually took a nap at 11. I was just so darn TIRED all of the sudden. DH did absolutely nothing as well. He played on the computer (SimCity4) all day, I checked email in between his breaks. Talk about laziness!! He doesn't have too much to do for a while, he got done plowing and planting all the wheat fields last week, so except for hauling some hay every now and then, he is kinda off for the next 3 weeks, til the first of October when we start cutting haygrazer. Then that will keep him busy right up to and maybe after the baby comes.

Leftovers for dinner. DH won't be here, he has Lion's club tonight. I'm watching the ball game (Braves, of course) and quilting a little while I'm at it.

So, I'll see ya'll tomorrow!!

silverbear's picture

Back into a routine! Woohoo!

I never thought I'd be so happy to be back in my scheduled groove. DS8 started 3rd grade yesterday and I'm getting stuff done!
My big TADA - I finished 2 quilts and sent them to Quilters Comfort America. They will be distributed to Katrina evacuees at the Astrodome. I've posted a picture of one of them on my blog if anyone is interested. I'm very grateful to Lynn for sharing this information. It's nice to be able to offer something constructive, no matter how small. I'm frustrated and angry with myself that I let my Louisiana RN license expire - I didn't see a need to keep it as it's unlikely we'd ever live there again. I know it's a moot point - with Steve in Iraq, it would be logistically impossible for me to go to Baton Rouge to help out. But still ...
Susannah, keep the OT coming Smiling
Sink is shiny, tomorrow's school lunch is packed .. let's not talk about the rest of the house ..
Rose

Shaun's picture

Who's down with OTP?

Every Flybaby! (OK, lame song lyric remake -- anyone remember OPP? Who sang that again? OTP = Off Topic Post, by the way)

We saw Shaun of the Dead -- I remember thinking it was pretty entertaining, although the scene of the zombies feasting on one of the guys entrails was pretty disgusting!

Rose, you are amazing! I can 't believe all the good you are doing. I'm proud of myself for making a donation via Amazon 1-Click.

I can jump on the messy house bandwagon myself. But I do have DH loading the DW right now as I "shower" (just peeking at the Internet for a sec before I jump in, y'know!). I'm hoping with DD6 out of the house we have a bit less mess. I swear if I homeschooled we'd be wading ankle-deep in filth within a week. If you're not that bad, Susannah, you're doing awesome!

OK, tomorrow I will try to fly! But I made a healthy dinner -- my signpost of an adequate day.

I'm Down With the OTP!

I'm dancing in my chair here. Smiling

TADA

swept-looks sooo much better
did all my running around/kid taxi chores
gassed up the van: $75! Shocked

go to a mediation session with my friend about her son's IEP
pick up DS13 and his buddies from soccer
take DD to soccer

pick up DS15 after his soccer game

Heidi, the tutoring is going really, really well. He's a great kid and I'm really enjoying it. I know what you mean about the schedule once school starts, but I'm kind of glad, like Rose a schedule keeps me on top of things.

Susannah, the OTPs are always the most interesting! Smiling

OK, very busy/running around day today so I'd better go do what I have to do before I leave.
Bye,

Hey you know me!!!

Cool song! LOL!

Jo, BUSY day!! Have fun with all that!!

Been at the school for an hour this morning. Was getting news, spent much time chatting. LOL! Homecoming is next week, had to get stuff for spirit week. Lots of other things going on, too. Chance just had a ball playing in the preschool room while I talked, ur, gathered news. He is bigger than some of the preschoolers in there!!

Ok, a PODA:
*News (need to find out colors for school we are playing for HC)
*find desk
*figure out bills
*move a few little things around and reorganize
*more laundry (lots to fold, one more load to do, well, maybe two)
*VOLLEYBALL GAME TONIGHT!!!!!!! We are ranked #1 in the district! What a difference a new coach makes that actually WANTS to coach volleyball (last year's coach was actually trying to do AWAY with vb and start cross country. )

That's a start. Check in later!

jennye's picture

Well, just scratch that whole

Well, just scratch that whole PODA. Here is my TADA:
*news
*mowed lawn
*mowed more outside of lawn, then mower "found" something DH left out and I didn't see in the weeds. Will have to fix later.
*weedeated (or would that be weedate?)
*Volleyball game (where we LOST. Ugh. I'm so mad at our girls. We won the first two games, then the other team won the last three. ARG!!!)

Home at 9:15, fixed some PB&Js for the girls, sent them off to bed, and hear I am.

Cya'll in the morning!!

witchiepoo's picture

Good Morning!

TADA
one load of laundry re-booted including folding the clean one

PODA

wash the tablecloth
bathrooms
call the bank
call the school
tutor 12-4
pick up boys from soccer
something for dinner Puzzled

My tutoring schedule has changed, and I'm doing 3.5-4 hours every day for a bit. The student comes here since all my materials are here, and the principal (my SIL) and guidance counselor are coming for a visit today, so I need to really clean up.

Where is everyone?
see ya,
-Jo

heidic's picture

Good Morning! TADA mornin

Good Morning!

TADA
morning routine
DS off to school

PODA
read paper
Target run
picnic at park with DD
fill out school paperwork
mop kitchen and wood floors
dinner
read with kids no homework
movie or game night

Jo-wow that is alot of tutoring. It's not all for 1 kid is it?? Good luck with the home visit today.

Jenny-can't win 'em all(the volleyball games) I mean. As long as they had fun, right? I keep running over hidden objects in the grass too but at least these last couple times nothing damaged the mower.

Well Open House went well last night. I really like DS team this year and especially like the inclusion teacher since he is male,a good role model for DS. It seems like a pretty demanding curriculum this year but it's to get them ready for middle school. Our district is a pretty overachieving, competitive one so we have to kinda go with the flow.

Hope you all have a great weekend

Heidi

jennye's picture

It's Friday?

Not that it means much. LOL!

Jo, that is ALOT of tutoring!! Wow! What are you soaking in the hot water on the stove?

Heidi, the loss was made worse because one of the gals on the other team was at OUR school last year. She left and transferred to EHS because she didn't get along with our coach (who quit right before school restarted, so now we have a new coach). Winning would have felt really good because it would have been like "look at what you missed out on". Instead, it was like, "Ha, you suckers! I got on a winning team now!!" And it's not a girl that is the "shy, quiet type" either. Oh, well. We play the same team again the end of the month. Hopefully we will stomp them then.

And both of you are putting me to SHAME with your PODAs!! LOL!

Oh, a TADA I forgot to mention yesterday. I loaded up the truck with all the trash I have been putting in the garage and dumped it. Filled up almost the whole truck bed! Lots of trash!!!

I think I'll try to get done what I had on the poda yesterday and didn't do. The house is such a wreck. I should start with this desk.

Shaun's picture

Lazy day at home

Not been too ambitious today. I did sort out a lot of papers that were creating a flaming hot spot. Still lots of papers, but I have them in folders and piles. DD2 seems a bit tired today -- after a frustrating bout with a puzzle she said, "I want TV." Gives me a chance to catch up on a few things.

TADAs
Unload DW
Paper sorting
A bit of freelancing during Clifford!

PODA
more freelance work
more paper sorting and tossing
laundry put away
1 load of washing
Clear off top of dresser

I think that'll be enough for me! I'm having some deadline problems -- ah, working with others!

Shaun

Not flying so much as obsessing

But it's all good!

I mastered the Japanese T-shirt Folding technique, and was so inspired, I cleaned out my entire dresser - and my son's - purged what was not needed, neatly folded and organized the rest, and brought a huge fling to the Salvation Army. That's the highlight of today's TADA but it feels good anyway!

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend.

Hellooooo!!! Where is everyo

Hellooooo!!! Where is everyone!!??

Lessee, I finished all the laundry, AND put it all away. whoohoo!! Then I moved the stereo around and reorganized videotapes (well, I took all the kid tapes out of the girls room. They don't have the little TV/VCR in there anymore now that school has started back). Went to another Volleyball game (we lost AGAIN!! ARG!!), watched the Braves game at home (we lost there, too. ARGGGG!!!). Free Starz weekend, DH is watching movies.

Going to an airshow tomorrow at the base. Ya'll have a good night!

Susannah's picture

Here!

Been off blogging tonight instead of posting PODAs and TA DAs (not that I have any).

I had more envelope-stuffing/three-hole punching/filing at work today, so that helped a bit. DH took the children to the annual back-to-school picnic and brought home all the info. I needed.

I should master that Japanese folding trick, esp. if I'm gonna get the laundry done this weekend.

Tomorrow's PODA:
*Crisis clean the entire house.
*Do all laundry, start to finish.

Quite simple, really!

I think I'll open the windows and air things out a bit too. Phew!

Sorry about the games, Jenny.

I felt bad I didn't know what Becky was going through lately, until I saw her post. Sad My heart goes out to her.

Love y'all!

Susannah

witchiepoo's picture

Saturday

Thirty-six degrees this morning!!! Yikes! We only have one cord of wood in and there is no way we can afford fuel oil, so I hope it warms up quickly! I went for a run (outside) and now I'm having a hard time warming up even after a hot shower. Brrrr.

TADA
ran
showered
read the paper

PODA
take DS to soccer
dishes
stuffed shells with meat sauce for dinner
pick up both DSs from soccer
homeschool
laundry-three loads left but DS13 has not thrown his down yet.

That is a lot of tutoring, and yes, it is for one young man. He is having medical problems involving a seriously diminished immune capacity, so he can't be around other kids. 2 hours a day wasn't enough to keep him up with his class, so it will be more. The good news is his white count went up yesterday, so if it stays up we will start doing the tutoring at the school in a seperate room on Tuesday and then gradually work him back into the classroom a few hours at a time next week. Cool.

Jenny, I was ROTFLMAO about your question "What are you soaking in the hot water on the stove?" I was soaking the stove itself, that's how bad it was. Now it's all clean and shiny.

Have a good weekend ladies!
-Jo

Andrea's picture

I'll have to try that sometim

I'll have to try that sometime Jo!

Hi Jenny!Enjoy thet airshow!

HI Susannah - I am back to work FT as well as you! Mine was planned though. I am having trouble with the house so I will be cleaning along with you.

We finally got our new laptop and got our wireless system set up - trying to transfer stuff from the older puter now, I don't really know what I'm doing.

Andrea

Susannah's picture

Short Water Break

And internet, of course.

Jo, I used to do that a lot. I would squeeze the soapy dishwater onto the stove top and let it soak. Then scrub it up when I was done with the dishes.

TA DA's:
*Most clean laundry folded and put away
*Dirty laundry on its way to clean
*Cleaned out from under the fridge. GROSS!
*Wiped windows, walls, dust busted bugs from window wells
*Dust busted air vent under the table. GROSS! All kinds of rotten food down there.
*Kitchen generally de-stickied, chairs and table scrubbed, floor mopped, etc.

That took all morning and afternoon!

I still have to do counters and cupboards and appliances, and stick some frozen food in the oven for supper. The rest of the house is still a mess. My laundry takes a while because the dryer isn't running well. Some loads have taken two hours! Need to have DH fix that.

Thirty-eight degrees! Now that's chilly.

I love Georgia in autumn for that reason...not too cold, but not humid anymore. Bright, clear skies!

Sounds like you are essentially homeschooling that student, Jo! I have always noticed that homeschooling is more tutoring than anything else.

I just got good news that my best buddy in VA is pregnant! Smiling She's been waiting forever for that.

Love y'all!

Susannah

A very nice day

Not sure what happened -- this morning I was stressing about everything, but this afternoon and evening I was shopping with DD6 (a few new school things) and cooking and having family dinner and it was just relaxed and lovely. Hurrah!

TADAs
Cleaned kitchen
put away laundry and new clothes
did freelance work
did Internet research on acceleration/gifted stuff
LR pickup
Mall run

I've also got DH working on the laundry. It's a fairly easy task to deal with when you're already down in the basement playing computer games! Just a little break to keep your butt from going totally numb . . . Eye-wink

Not sure what we'll do tonight. DH went out and got a digital video camera so I imagine he'll do some playing around with that. And I got new pages for my Franklin Planner -- woo hoo! Wild Saturday in the city. I imagine I'll be going to church solo again tomorrow. Once children's liturgy kicks in I think we'll get everyone going again. DD2 will probably be OK in the nursery (although our nursery demands so much volunteer participation and I am already volunteering at that place every other week . . . ) but DD6 can be a royal pain! (Funny how that works -- shouldn't it be the 2yo?)

Hope everyone else is enjoying their weekends!

Home, and TIRED!!! Air sho

Home, and TIRED!!!

Air show was fun, but hot. We started out at IHOP, went to airshow at 10, left at 4, Applebee's for dinner (I like Chili's better, I have decided. But they do have the WW menu for DH, so I'll live). Then Lowe's for some plumbing stuff, walmart for groceries, hour drive home, and I'm pooped. It was a nice night last night, so I had the windows open and ac off. Forgot to turn it back on before we left, and it's hot in here now! I could welcome Jo's 36F morning! LOL!

Tomorrow will probably go to church with the girls. DH said he and the boy will fix my mower for me while we are gone. I don't know, I may ditch it and stay home and watch the ball game.

Off to drink me a coke or something, and rest the remainder of the night.

Susannah, I am homeschooling him for sure. He is a very hard worker, so we have a lot of fun.

This week DD has dance and two soccer sessions, DS13 has three soccer games and two practices, plus scouts, DS15 has one game and four practices, I have a booster club meeting, choir, and tutoring. I hate weeks like this. Next week is pretty dead by comparison. Thank goodness. Laughing out loud

Have a beautiful day everyone!

Hello!!

Made it to church this morning. DD8 was asked to acolyte as soon as we walked in the door, so it worked out good. I walked around Walmart while the kids did Sunday School and bought a couple of things (you know, things that you want but don't buy when the hubby is around because he will complain about spending the money. In this case, a couple of plastic drawer thingees for scrapbooking paper and supplies), had to rent a thing at True Value for the plumbing (that didn't work out, anyway). Back home. DH and FIL were outside trying to figure out how to fix this plumbing problem, no luck. I've come to the rescue, plumber will call me back in the morning. But now, DH is in a REALLY bad mood and has gone for a drive (with MY truck. EEK!!). I'm going to get my butt in gear and get the house cleaned up while he is gone (especially his bathroom. It is HORRIBLE!!! he is the only one that uses it, I moved out many months ago because I hate it so much. More papers in there than are on my desk, and THAT is saying something!!). That is, if I don't murder my children first while they bicker at each other nonstop. I may go crazy myself, first! LOL!

Good news. Braves won!! Yeeehaawwww!!!

Well, Ds and I had a nice "date". We went to lunch(Subway) then stopped in to a store to see an old friend, off to the library, then took a drive to look at the mansion luxury homes going up,Ben and Jerry's for ice cream down by the falls and back home. Good day. Gotta fold that laundry that was drying when we left(oops) and start on dinner...spaghetti and meat sauce I think.

Cleaned up

Got up late this morning so I went alone to late church -- gave me a chance to pop everything in the crockpot before I left, at least. Made a double batch of spicy chickpeas since next weekend -- woo hoo! -- I am ditching the family and going on a scrapbooking "retreat" weekend with a friend. Yay! Can't leave them with nothing to eat (actually, that meal is for me to heat up quick on Sunday when I get back).

Did a major picking up around the house-- doesn't take so long when I actually do it, which makes me wonder why it is so hard to listen to flylady and pick up some throughout the day. Ahh, perfection will come, right?

I hear you about the busy week, Jo. I realized that I am going out T, W, Th for class or meeting then heading out of town Friday. Yuck! Too much for me. I may have to give up Wednesday tap this week if things are too crazy. And next weekend I'm leaving the kids again -- but this time for our 10th anniversary, so I'm taking the DH. We're just going to our "twin city" to stay the night in a super-swank hotel room (in room steam bath, complimentary cocktails, "panoramic city view") and see U2 in concert -- yay! Not the trip to London I had envision for this anniversary back B.K. (Before Kids), but we are staying at the place we stayed at the first time we traveled here together, before we moved here, so I think it will be pretty special nonetheless.

Well listen to me, rattling on! Too much Coke I guess! See you all Monday.

Got the master bath cleaned g

Got the master bath cleaned good, except for the shower, which is still filled with the acid stuff mixed in with two inches of yucky black water and it STINKS! Actually, it reminds me of well water in Florida. So it isn't so horrible, brings back memories. LOL! I threw away a TON of papers from in their, half a big garbage bag. Also got the girls to pick up the living room, and I managed to not only cook dinner but to clean afterwards as well. LOL! I'll feel better when I see it in the morning all clean (that is, if DH doesn't mess it up first, which is entirely likely).

Busy week for us, too. Parent/Teacher conferences are Tuesday (yes, already!!). Also a funeral Monday and Tuesday (I may not go to these, but DH probably will). School Board meeting Monday night for DH, and I have an OB appt. on Friday (I invited MIL to go with to watch Chance. Promised her Chili's and she could hear the baby's heartbeat, so was very willing to say yes). Also, much house cleaning to do this week. We are having the boys' birthday party (Chance AND my nephew's) on Saturday. SIL and I jotted down a quick guest list of close family members, and came up with 30. Small party. LOL! So will be cleaning the house for that, and fixing the yard up some. Might get some mums to plant around or something.

See you in the morning!!

Hi flyfriends!!

Been missing all week doing absolutely nothing! I've fallen and I cant get up! Literally. I am beat. Next week will be 12 weeks so i hope I open my eyes and my usual energy has reappeared because this is getting scary. I have been doing the same load of laundry for 3 days. Toys are everywhere. Alexa has had spaghettios for lunch like everyday this week because I am lazy. Today i am going to get it together. Or at least try to Smiling

Hope everyone is doing good. Tried to catch up quick. I hope Anne changes her mind and joins us again. I guess I dont get caught up in all the political stuff because this is the only part of the forums I come too. And I love you girls!!

I bought Alexa some sneakers the other day and the kid wont take them off. Dh actually put her to bed in them Friday when I was working because she wouldnt let him take them off. Its so cute. Sorry so ot but it cracks me up to see her walking around in these clunky sneakers and her pjs. Smiling

OK heres some planned flying:
~clean the kitchen really good
~unload dishwasher
~finish laundry today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
~Thats all. Hoep you guys have a nice relaxing Sunday. Love Jack
