First off, Becky, I have no words to comfort or ease the pain, but I am sorry for your loss.

And I made it fine! LOL!! Really, she did so good. Never looked back! And I didn't cry after all! She did look so grown up, though. Where does the time go?
Becky, I am so very sorry. You are in my thoughts today and I am sending you cyberhugs.
I've had a semi-productive day so far.
TADA:
* Got DD up and to school on time (this will be a big one, as she loves to dilly-dally)
* Took my car to get the front end aligned (they put tires on Sat. but didn't have time to do alignment)
* Went with DH to look at brick for our house
* Balanced checkbook, transferred money, paid bills (some online, some by hand), and updated budget through end of month
* Cleaned my kitchen counters
* Laundry - still working on this one
I'm afraid a new washer might be in our near future. Mine is not spinning all of the water out & sometimes it is putting more water in when it is on the "spin only" cycle. Just when you think you're getting ahead...
My PODA:
* Try to think of something special to either have for lunch for DD's first day, or a treat of some type
* Finish laundry (but, is it ever REALLY finished?)
* Run dishwasher
* Figure out what to do with ground chuck that is thawing in fridge

My kiddos don't start school until the 31st. We still need to go school shopping. We also don't get out until around June 15th, so we pay for it there.
Vonnie, when is DD's b'day again? She and my DD must be close!
Anne, that is so cool!!! Double check the schedule, though. ENMU's website shows they are playing San Angelo on the 7th, not the 9th (says the 9th is Midwest. State University). San Angelo's website also shows ENMU on the 7th, and West Texas A&M on the 9th. October 9th is a Sunday, no ball games for us. So 7th is Friday. Would you like to get together for dinner? Or lunch. Something!!!??? Let me know!! Cool, I'm gonna met a Flybaby!!!
Vonnie, laundry is NEVER finished!! LOL! Hope you don't need a new washer. Yikes. Hurts the pocketbook. I hated that this summer I had to get a new vacuum AND fridge. Ugh.
Let's see. I've done nothing today but eat. Had to run to the village postoffice and get some stamps for the bills. I haven't written my news yet today, I have laundry that needs a reboot, and the house fell apart with me not being here for part of yesterday. Ugh. Time to do some catching up!!

My mind is on Becky and hoping she is resting now, anxious to hear how she is,so traumatic.

I got a couple of loads of laundry done. Cleaned the kitchen some, and that's really about it. Went thru some maternity clothes a friend from church gave me (some really nice things, lots of GAP stuff. Wow!). Fixed BLTs for dinner, easy cookin', easy clean up.
I also got a couple boxes of clothes for the girls today. But they are still in my truck. Just didn't feel like bringing them in. And I labeled and packed all the girls school supplies. They are ready for first day of school on Wednesday. And frankly, so am I. I love 'em, and I'll miss 'em. But they love school, and it will be some nice just me and Chance time for a couple more months. OR, DH can take Chance and I can have some ME time! LOL!
Thinking about Becky and I hope everything went ok today (as ok as it can be).
I did it, blessed my house!

Anne my flowers are really doing well this year. The first year they sleep, the second year they creep, and the third year they leap(ever hear that saying) kinda like kids...Right now the blackeyed susans are the dominant feature out front.
Jenny-wow you always manage to come by some great clothing deals with friends and such, good job, enjoy. i am looking foward to school starting as well but we did have a fun summer and it was tooo fast!
Not sure what will go on today. Will probably go thru those couple of boxes of girl clothes (they were given by the mayors wife. LOL! not as big as that sounds. Out of the 30 people that live in our village, he was the only one that said ok for the job. LOL!). I need to take my truck in sometime, the check engine light is coming on again.
Bad news coming in, my step-aunt is in the ICU. My stepmother called this morning with the news. Don't know exactly what is going on, my stepmother is sorta a grim reaper type person, always making the bad seem much worse. But still, keep her in your prayers. My stepaunt is the one that took in this 16 year old girl she had never met and that everyone had thrown out from 2,000 miles away, and actually kept me for the next 2 years. She's a wonderful person. Another reason why I want my truck serviced, in case I need to make a trip to Dallas (about an 8 hour or so drive).
Jenny- my check engine light came on too and the mechanic hooked it up to the diagnotic computer and it said one of the cylinders misfired. He said that I could drive it and not worry about breaking down. He also said it is common if you don't put your gas cap back on tight enough or if you fill your gas tank while the engine is running. He cleared the code and now my dashboard is not flashing that sign. I just got to leave it there for a day sometime for him to re set. Not a biggie so thought I would pass that on to you.
Your aunt will be in my thoughts.....

Actually, Heidi, there is a little hestitation in the engine every now and then, and a couple times with DH, it died while going down the road (but just throw it into neutral and restart, you don't even have to stop or pull over). I suspect it's a timing sensor that just needs to be replaced. No big deal, the engine is still under warranty, so it should only cost me $100. I had initially thought it was a special aftermarket chip that I put in to boost my horsepower when I'm hauling trailers or the camper, it was a little loose and I took it out since I won't need it in til Labor Day. Having it in voids my warranty, but if I leave it out and drive a while, all traces of it being in are erased from the computer memory (I got this information from one of the machanics down there at the Ford dealership. I used to work there, I can get away with alot of stuff. hehehe).
My poor truck. I love my baby. It's a 2002 F-250 7.3L Powerstroke Diesel. It's a crew cab (4 door w/ the full back seat), the longest wheelbase you can buy, 4x4, leather, automatic (which I would really rather have the standard, but oh well), 6 disc CD changer. Yeah, it's pretty sweet.
Oh, I got pictures of it!! Three years ago when I bought it. I was pregos w/ Chance. http://www.jandjessary.com/newtruck
Yeah, I'm obsessed. It's got 61,000 on it. DH doesn't want me to go over 100,000, so I'm hoping when I get a new one it will be a little bigger, the F-350!! It sets a little taller (though mine is pretty tall. I'm really missing my running board DH broke off last time we went 4-wheeling in it), and I want to put on bigger tires. But the new ones changed the diesel engine, not a 7.3L anymore, something a little smaller.
It's Crohn's disease (is that spelled right?). Serious, but not as bad as cancer. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers for her.
Might as well update on what I did today, too.
Decided I didn't want to have the baby in the same room as Chance, so I rearranged the office, took out a couple of things (DH's bass guitar stuff and a file cabinet and a couple of toys that will go into Chance's room), moved my big desk to under the window (covering my poofy country curtains, but oh well), moved in the rocking chair, small round table, chest of drawers, and had to take apart the crib and reassemble, again. But I think it will be better for Chance this way. His room now looks like a tornado hit, will have to work on it.
Will see ya'll in the morning. Or later tonight. Will just have to see.
Today I take DS13 shopping for school clothes. I decided to take the boys seperately and make a day of it. DD is spending the day with her cousins (the ones who have the pool) and she is very excited.
Poor DS has no clothes that fit. He has grown 6 inches in the last year, and really thinned out.

Becky, I'm glad you are home and feeling OK. All my psychic energy was with you Monday.
Jenny, I'm very envious of your truck. I want a club cab! DH's uncle is a Ford Dealer, and if the business ever starts making money we are going to invest in a 250 or 350 as a shop truck.
Anne, the shop is going so slowly it's nearly driving me insane. DH is insistent on doing it all himself, and while I understand his motivations, it still is very
frustrating. We are so close to being done, just the wiring to finish and painting the offices, which I will do this weekend. I guess the new plan is to be open Sept. 1st. My office is really beautiful though. And DD is very excited about her little corner where her desk will go.
OK, better go drag DD's little arse out of bed and hit the road.
Bye,

Jo-I know what you mean about frustration with DHs who want to do all the work themselves. Mine is the same way. He is a jack of all trades sort so he hates to pay someone to do what he can do except that he doesn't have the time to do it!!
Your office sounds like it will be nice Jo- what a lot of changes your family is going through!
Hi Heidi!
Becky, how are you doing physically?
Jenny, you got a lot done, wow!
Well, I think I've finally recovered from the trip. Always takes me a few days. I watched a friend's 2 kids for 6.5 hours yesterday! Yikes. Today I have a little bit of a PODA, some already done. Baked blueberry muffins with DS from scratch from the berries we picked. Yum.
Jo, I think your office sounds great, too! And DD will like having her own space in there. Like she is working for daddy, too. LOL! Hope you get that truck. Be sure to get the diesel. they really are the best, and much better on fuel milage.
Andrea, Mmmmm, fresh blueberries!!
Today was the first day of school. I took the girls to their classrooms, took pictures, and left. They didn't need me there anymore. Nice thing about such a small school with only one class per grade, they know WHO will be in their class and WHO their teacher will be ahead of time. Well, except DD6, who had a new teacher fresh out of college. But she did meet her at the staff cookout a couple of weeks ago. DD8 has a few new kids in her class, now there are 12 girls and 5 boys. I then went on to the middle and high school Pep Rally and enjoyed it. They introduced all the teachers just like they do the athletes, over the sound system with the cheerleaders on both sides, forming an alley for the teachers to run down. Then the teachers played a pep rally game. The cheerleaders did a couple of cheers, then had a class competition to see who was the loudest (seniors won, of course!!). Great way to start the year off on a positive note! Middle school starts at 5th grade, so in two more years, DD8 will be there. Wow.
Oh, and damn it, the room mother from hell was there this year. Oh, man. She is out of district, I was hoping since she had a baby over the summer (we are STILL wondering who the father is. LOL! Among other things) that the drive from town twice a day would be too much of a strain on herself AND her pocketbook (since I know they are dead broke). As soon as she saw me, she tried to get me to hold the baby. I declined and hope I didn't run away too fast. LOL!
Came home, Put on Dukes of Hazzard for Chance, and he is already napping. Guess waking up early to get the girls off didn't agree with him. LOL! Maybe he will go to bed at a decent hour tonight, then.
I over did it yesterday, didn't sleep well last night. Butt nerve. But I want to try to work on Chance's room some more and get it all straightened up. After school, gotta run to town for DD8's Acolyte Training for church. DH is playing truck today, will be in late tonight. Maybe I'll get something else done and have it to share later.
We drove up to Purdue on Monday and got DD19 all settled into her new dorm room. It was a little sad leaving her, but not nearly as bad as last year. She has lots of friends and loves the school. So I am very happy for her. But I do miss her
DS14 started high school this morning. He was a little apprehensive, but also happy to be seeing his friends again. I realized I forgot to put a water bottle in his lunch box, so he doesn't have anything to drink with his lunch. I was going to drop off something after my workout at the YMCA, but thought it might embarass him, so I'm hoping he finds the water fountain.

Becky, sorry for your loss. My prayers are with you and your DH.
Jenny and Anne, how cool you may get to meet up with one another.
This is strange to be posting after my own morning post. Where is everyone???
The cable guy was late so I called the company and they said the installation would be free. We now have cable TV available in all the upstairs bedrooms. This was mainly done for when we have company, as I do not allow the children to have TVs in their rooms. Also, I'm still abstaining from TV so not a big deal for me either.
Because of the waiting around I wasn't able to get to the grocery store, so we went out to Cracker Barrel for dinner and then I got DS a blizzard from dairy queen in place of his chocolate chip cookies.
DD19 called in a panic today. She couldn't get the new lock to open on her bike at school. Told her to go and ask at a nearby building for bolt cutters, they sent out the campus police and cut off the lock. Good thing it happened before school actually starts. She will be heading over to TArget tomorrow and will buy a new lock.
Yeah Susan, it's been pretty slow around this thread lately. Poor DD with the lock! Glad she got it taken care of. Isn't it nice that she still needs you?
Mmmm, diary queen blizzard sounds goooooood. I think Friday I'm going for the Frostie at Wendy's. Dip my french fries in it. LOL!
Chance and I did some mowing around the place. Got the front, side and back done in the yard, then did a good chunk over by the cake bins and horse shed/pens. Weeds were really tall, and I'm just thankful that I had the deck on the highest setting, because I nearly hit some big stuff hidden in there.
Picked the girls up from school. They had a great day, of course. Went to town for DD8's acolyte training, and the church is still standing. Hit Walmart for a few things, ran into three of the teachers from school and chatted with them for a while, scared a poor woman with 2 kids, she is now thinking twice about a third. LOL! Yup, Chance was a terror. Then picked up some pizza at Dominos for dinner (3 med pizzas for $5. We can't eat at McDs for that anymore. And still have enough leftovers for tomorrow!!). And back home. Not much flying, just the mowing.
Just checking in for a quick peek -- I can't handle dial up speed! We're having a nice week with mom and step-dad. Girls are having a blast, I'm getting a little break. DD6 was on the local news for about 1/2 a second for participating in a class on butter churning (as one of several "frontier" activities.) It's funny but being on vacation here without DH is kind of like being here with him -- usually he just goes in our room and reads all day, emerging for meals and then silently going back. Still, I look forward to him joining us soon.
Can't imagine school starting already! Don't you people live in ag communities too? No one should be in school in August! We are looking forward to it however. It's fun to read everyone's posts about all the excitement -- especially the brand new Kindergartners!
Better get off line. Love to all until I get home.
p.s. Since being here I have broken my eyeglasses in half and superglued a bottle of superglue to my hand, preventing my taking part in the scheduled family photo shoot. I swear, the dumbest things happen to me lately! (Well, $250 later at least I have a new pair of "cheap" glasses.)

It was 42 degrees when I woke up this morning!!!! Great sleeping last night, but really.
Jenny, I thought I was the only one in the world who likes to dip fries in ice cream.
Shaun, hi from 42 speed dial up land. It stinks! I can't get DSL or cable here either, because we're too far out in the sticks.
I just love DS13's attitude about clothes. He could care less what he wears or what brand it is. He has NOTHING that fit because he has grown so tall, so we had to get him new everything. We mamanged to get 5 pair of pants, three pair of shorts, seven tee shirts, seven long sleeve shirts, a belt, socks and underwear for under $200. DS15 on the other hand....
When I went to buy the paint for the office the guy in Sherwin-Williams was so nice. I needed 5 gals. each primer and paint and 3 gallons of concrete paint for the floor. He wrote down my order, looked over his shoulder and quietly asked me if I needed it today or could I wait until Saturday. It turns out that they are having a 40% off sale on Saturday. He will mix everything up and have it ready for pick-up Saturday morning, and I will save a ton of money! How cool is that?
OK, enough dallying, I need to go get going!
Bye,
-Jo
That is so nice Jo - I'm sure you will be back to that store!
Shaun, I got a good chuckle at your expense, sorry! Super glue can be tricky.
Hi Heidi and Jenny and Susan!
DD has a friend over for the am. I'd like to get some cleaning done. Laundry is going. I work tomorow and Monday and am trying out my new schedule - leave at 7:00 and home by 3:00.
And it was 42 there!? Yikes!! That's what it will be when we go camping Labor Day, but I'm not ready to think about that yet. Gosh, is that only a couple of weeks away??
Shaun, you have me cracking up with the superglu. And all I could think of was American Pie 2 "I just superglued myself to...myself". Ewwww!! LOL! Yes, I watch that garbage.
Oh, I would love the days when school didn't start til AFTER Labor Day. But I guess it's because the Dept. of Ed. or whatever has it mandatory that so many hours or days school must be in, they keep having to move it up. What really sux is that our county fair has to schedule it's days around whenever the midway company can come to town. So last year and this year, the fair is during school. That's hard on the students because so many of them have animals in the fair. They have to run to town in the morning to care for them, then back afterschool to show or clip or wash or whatever.
Oh, our fair is next week! Cool!! Chance is old enough for the Stick horse race, and he has been practicing! I may even splurge and get the girls bracelets for the rides. and if I come across the turtle that has been in and out of the yard, we can be in the turtle race. Better leave the dog at home for the pet show (ALL the pets get a ribbon for something. Just anything the guy running it can think for for that animal). I have a strange dog, he doesn't like to ride in the truck. But he loves to run alongside the 4-wheeler.
Yeah, I'm full of rambles today. LOL! I also feel a cold coming on, that really sux!!! Woke up with sore throat and runny nose. Ugh.
Ok, due to cold coming on, I'm not doing much today. I'm going to bake two cakes for the cake auction for the cheerleaders tonight, maybe a load of laundry, write my school news for the paper, and not a whole lot else. So there. LOL! Gotta do the Watermelon Welcome tonight at the school under the big tree, must be feeling ok for that.
Jenny, is it your cattle dog that doesn't like riding in the car/truck? The one we had didn't like to ride, either! I was just wondering if it might be a "breed" thing...
Blessings,
Lenora
A good head and a good heart are always a formidable combination."
~Nelson Mandela
I didn't realize you had a dog Jenny! I love border collies - they are very similar to Corgis, which we have.
I forgot to say, here in WNY, our schools start late and end late. Remember when the kids and I were still plugging away on June 24th? Well, now it seems worth it, because schools don't start until September 7th!We still havea 3 more weeks! Of coursre, I'll have to work a few days before then.
I've gotten quite a bit done, including cleaning my stove top - yuk! Off to feed kids -
Andrea
Andrea- I am so jealous of your Sept 7th start date. We could use 3 more weeks of summer here.
Jenny- we have a lab/terrier mix that will keep us protected from killer chipmunks but lick any stranger to death! Go figure............
Well DH bought a trampoline on clearance for the kids. They had a blast on it last night and this morning. We have a net enclosure, only 2 kids at at a time, and me or DH out watching them so I feel okay about it. If I tried it, I would end up with wet pants, it makes me want to pee.
Nice sunny but breezy day. Need to return some unused paint for DH,buy fresh fruit at the market, and deposit a check in the bank. So that's my afternoon.
I'm trying to keep up, just not able to post as much as I'd like. Would be so nice if the computer was down stairs, but that's not going to happen, oh well.
We started back to school Monday, had a very nice 1st day. Homeschool bowling league also started back on Monday, which was fun. Tuesday after our lessons we went to the Witte Museum, Trey had a great time and for the first time Savannah was big enough to go into the baby room She's walking really well. We're staying pretty busy on the weekends lately, Sunday we went to Sea World and last weekend Fred took all the kids (Tony, Trey, and Savannah) to the zoo! I had about 2 hours all to myself, the longest amount of time I've been alone sense Savannah was born.
Well I guess I should say something about the house It's ok, not perfect but I'm trying real hard to move past the point of caring so much about every little thing. THAT'S HARD, but something I feel like for sanity sake I've got to do. This is always the worst time of year for me, but with Savannah now into EVERYTHING, things aren't neat and orderly anymore and I guess that's how it's going to be for a while. Ok, I'm rambling.... Point is, I'm trying to "let go" of some stuff, wish me luck.
I'll try to post more, I do miss you guys.
Romper room hellos to everybody.
Hi everyone!
DH left last Friday. DS8 and I are settling back into a groove. We spent a few days at my parents' house, fishing and visiting some relatives. School doesn't start until September 6th, so we'll be able to take a few more day trips and have some summer fun before the routine changes again.
Becky, my thoughts are with you. I can't imagine how difficult the past few weeks must have been for you.
Rose
I am sorry~out of practice with my post~and I wasn't flying, I was an all out rocket!
Have ya'll seen "clean sweeP"?? I did that in my girls room! totally gross...scrubbed baseboards, sprayed for bugs, and rearranged! Only put back, what they wear, and toys they actually play with...everything else is in back of van for thrift stop...along with 4 bags of garbage gone! woo woo
They are in there now, playing with a friend. They haven't missed a thing!
Boys room is next!
Susan~I am way impressed with your determination and exercise! Way to go on the pounds!
I am so scared of trampolines...makes me pee my pants too...lol
Shaun? Did you get your kitchen all done?
I missed alot and remember a fire?
I am on the road to having my home clean again...kinda sorta,
The trouble with bucket seats is that not everybody has the same size bucket~Maxine
Anne, I clean sweeped my dds' room a few weeks ago and my goodness, the stuff I got out of there! The papers must BREED in there!! Need to hit it again, try to do it once a month. I just have a REAL hard time getting rid of toys. Even though they aren't mine, most are special in some way. I'll get rid of them when they are outgrown.
I got my two cakes made, and they ended up bringing $120 EACH!!! DH bought another cake for $110, so we contributed alot to the cheerleader cause. LOL! I had a good talk with the new superintendent about some plans for my news column (I'm trying to get the teachers and sponsors to become more involved in just giving me news, rather than me tracking it down. He is ALL for it, wants to make it a requirement for them!! Cool!!).
Also, the cheerleaders' garage sale has raised $600 so far! They are doing it again this weekend because more teachers were donating stuff this week. Very cool!!
Susan, I forgot to congratulate you the weight loss! Way to go!! DH is going to weight watchers. This was his second meeting and he lost 4 1/2 pounds! I may start it up after this kid is out.
Oh, flying. Let's see. I got sidetracked, but got a bit done. Decided to REALLY clean the tub/shower. Soaked the tub mat in bleach, washed all towels and shower curtains and rugs, shampooed the carpet, and snaked the drain. That's something!
Ya'll have a nice night and tomorrow. I have a dr. appt. and my gestational diabetes test (ugh), so won't be around til afternoon.
They say we're in for severe thunderstorms tonight, but it sure is picture-perfect now!

I would love a trampoline. A friend had one when I was a kid and we spent hours on that thing. DH is dead set against one though. He won't get a pool either. I feel like we have nothing in this house for the boys to entice their friends to come over. No cable or sattleite TV, no playstation or X-box. I'm thinking of turning our downstairs family room into a game room but I worry they will think that's lame.
Hi Rose!
Anne and Jenny, I did the clean sweep thing in DD's bedroom two weeks ago too! It is so much better in there, now she can actually find her toys and entertain herself!
woosh~having a friends kids for a few nites, as they had a funeral in Boston to fly to and all. Great kids girl (9) and boy (7). REally play well with my kids, and know us good, so fall right into the routine. Last nite, we learned how 6 kids and toilet paper can be a problem...overflowing toilet... But looked at the bright side, I scrubbed my bathroom at 8pm. lol

Good job on your cake Jenny. I'd have a hard time getting ONE dollar and 20 cents for my cakes

I've got a Home school planning meeting tonight, will be the first time i've been gone from the kids for more than an hour sense Savannah was born. Should be fun, 3 other ladies that I get along with very well.
All is well here. Drank the drink, and they have really improved it! Was pretty good, much like red koolaid!! Yummy! Will here back next weeks if results were abnormal. Everything else was fine, heard the heartbeat, midwife said I was gaining too much weight, I told her "oh, well!! I'm not worried", and made an appointment for 4 weeks. After that it will go to two weeks.
So no flying here. Just shopping. Went to bath and body works, got some lotion, an air freshener plug-in thing, and some new American Girl lip gloss for the girls. Exchanged a scrapbook album at Hobby Lobby, ate at Wendy's (oh, and had McDs for breakfast!! Yum!!), library, a book store (where they had a bunch of used American Girl books, so I scooped them up for DD8), and Walmart. Nice not having any children, I could really get out and get stuff done without worrying about carseats and chasing him.
Wow, quite a shopping day for you Jenny (and fast food)! I love Wendy's myself.
Jamie Lea, I can't believe you have been without an hour or two to yourself for a year. I think it's fantastic, but I don't think I was able to do that. My memory is a bit foggy for 6 years back. I think DH and I went out for dinner a couple times while grandparents babysat or something. What a Mom you are!! I mean that in a good way
Heidi, what was your bowling score? I'm terrible.
Anne, you're a saint - wow.
Well, I worked today after a few weeks off. Started out with a bang when a father yelled at everyone, including me, in my 9:00 CSE meeting - "that's bull$%#@!!!!" . Several times. Lovely. He finally mellowed a bit. I really like my job, but not these types of interactions.
Not sure what we'll do tomorrow - want to do some sort of family outing with summer coming to an end and all.
Well, we never went bowling,no one wanted to go. But we did get Chinese takeout for dinner and the kids and DH jumped on the trampoline for awhile beforehand. DS is over at the neighbor's and DD is watching a video before bed so I will now take a nice long hot shower and settle in for the night.
Andrea- what is a CSE meeting? Is that an eval or IEP type meeting?
Jamielea- we don't go out much without the kids or one of us staying with the kids so I can relate to your excitement about going out for longer than an hour. Hope it went well.
We got Chinese too Heidi! Yum. The CSE is the Committee on Special Ed. It is where the committee decides to classify a kid or not based on the testing and then develops the IEP. This kid was actually already classified and it was a reevaluation. I know every state has different acronyms, etc.
I feel like I have lots of chores today, bummer. Not sure what outing we will do.
My three guys were up early and off to the paintball range. DD is still sleeping and I need to get a grip on this house! I have felt so lazy lately. Sheesh.

My DF is supposed to be having a big potluck pool party this afternoon, but it is about 60 degrees and windy/rainy. My in-laws are supposed to have a corn roast/bonfire tonight. I wonder what will happen given the weather...
I have horrible sinus/allergy/cold junk. Last evening, DH took DD fishing and didn't get home until late. I went to drug store and got Benadryl (after showing license and signing for it!), came home, took it and went to bed.
Lo & behold, this morning DH is now sick and thinks he has strep again. So, he's piled up in the bed and I am left to take care of DD all day, fever and all. I'm so ill at him, I am cleaning and organizing like a mad woman. I don't even get to be sick by myself. I know you mothers can relate; I don't even go to the bathroom alone -- either the dog follows me in and sits at my feet looking up at me or DD turns on her radar and comes in to chat. Geez!
My TADAs so far today:
* Straightened up DD's bedroom; took bags of clothes to pass on out and put them by the door
* Unloaded dishwasher
* Cleaned out refrigerator
* Took out trash twice (once because of refrigerator clean-out, once just regular trash)
* Folded, hung and put away a load of clothes
* Washing another load right now
* Cleaned off my worst hot spot: top of bar
My PODA:
* Finish laundry - dry load washing now & wash and dry a load of towels
* Get my menu plan firmed for the next 7 days
* Clean up DD's playroom before it gets out of hand again
I feel so much better financially this week. We got some money from an unexpected source and were able to catch up on all of our bills. Everything is now up to date! But, we tend to take any extra money such as this as cart blanche to go spend. We're trying to live by our budget, which we now have on paper! I am the worst. I get to feeling down and want to buy myself something. I need to clean out my dresser and closet now of things I bought and don't even wear! Why should I buy more??? Who knows!
Anyway, we're trying to do better and be accountable to each other. In the past, I did all of the bill paying and he didn't have a clue. Now, I'm going to keep everything on paper and eventually on computer so that we can look at it weekly and monthly to make sure we are staying on track financially.
Well, DD is demanding my help once again this morning and I need to go put laundry in dryer and another load in washer. You gals have a great day!
Andrea-funny about the Chinese food. I love to get it because it means we have leftovers for a couple days so I don't have to make a few meals!!
Jo-I hope the mediation process works to your friend's advantage. How long does it typically take to have a mediator intervene in this situation? Did she ever contact the local LDA office for assistance? Just curiuos since I have lots of contact with mine and am on their Board.
Jenny-buried in clothes?? Good luck getting it all sorted.

DD and I are going to the cookout,DH and DS are helping BIL/SIL assemble a new shed for their backyard. That's about the extent of my plan for today. Pretty low flying here the last couple days.
Did some flylady Christmas eve cinnamon rolls! (always a great hit), for kids breakfast this am...very easy and sweet!
DH got up and just asked if I wanted a big breakfast burrito from my favorite store...you betcha...leave the sweets and mess.
Busy day today, our church is doing a big shindig for the town, next Saturday, so the crunch time is on! lol should be fun
We left the rodeo early , the kids were so tired...they wanted to do the calf run(where you run after the calf with a ribbon), but we couldn't make it, two were sleeping on me...lol. Good thing, we got home at 10:30, and at 10:45 the heavens opened the faucet, torrential downpour! So thankful we were home!

Well the weather held out for my friend's cookout today. As soon as all the guests left the sky opened up so the timing was perfect. The kids had fun with water balloons, limbo, relay races, pin the tail, candy and brownies etc. The adults got homemade gazpacho soup....yum
Tomorrow is my bday and I'd like to take the family to the waterpark. We were given 4 tickets from a family that couldn't use them. So we may do that in the afternoon.
Hope you all have a pleasant evening, see ya tomorrow.
My physical recovery is going very well and I have been able to run some errands with help, so I'm going to start fall classes and work this week as scheduled. We are also having the apartment exterminated (roaches) on Tuesday so tomorrow will be spent getting it ready.
Well, yesterday turned out to be just nutty. I had forgotten the paint order I had to pick up until about 10:30 and then it was like....Ahhhhh!!!!!! Because I was on a roll cleaning the house, had food going for the social gatherings, and had no time to run there and back (1.25 hrs. round trip). But I did and it all worked out.

Heidi, I hope the mediation thing will happen quickly because school starts Aug. 31st, and the disagreement is about his placement. There is no local LDA office, but there is a statewide Parent Information Center and a Disability Law Project that she contacted and they hooked her up with a local advocate. I sure hope it works too. This poor kid had no discipline plan or IEP until winter of second grade, but they retained him in first grade and kicked him out of school fall of second grade anyway! She wants to continue his (successful) out-of-district placement and the school board denied her. It's all about $$ and that makes me mad.
Becky, I'm glad you're feeling physically better, it's good to have you back.
Anne, SIX kids at the fair? I was wiped out from two kids at the fair! Yikes!
Vonnie, I hope you feel better today. That stinks.
How are you girls?? Sorry I was mia this week- dh on vacation so absolutely no flying here. Was a nice week though- went to a petting zoo with Alexa and she had a blast. She fed the goats bottles- she thought they were dogs. It was so cute. She was barking at them and cracking up!!
I had work Friday and Saturday so this house is a disaster. I have absolutely no energy since Alexa was up half the night Friday and then I worked 9-9pm yesterday then I got home and she wouldn't go to sleep for Dh so I spent an hour trying to get her down. I have no idea what happened to my good sleeper- teething maybe?? Please send some sleepy vibes for Alexa and awake vibes for Jackie
Vonnie, I hope you are feeling better. Somehow the Dh is always sicker than us right??
Happy Birthday Heidi!!! Hope you had a great day

Happy Birthday Heidi!!! Hope you have a wonderful day that's all about YOU!!! LOL!
Jo, yikes!! Glad you remembered the paint!!
Jackie, LOVED the pics. All that curly hair!! You're going to have fun with that when she gets older (for reals, not being sarcastic).
My plans were a little twarted yesterday. DH branded, and invited our transplanted to the country city slicker friend to help (but change help to watch). He brought two of his kids (the 8 and 6 year old) so they could see, but they ended up in the house with the rest of us. So I got stuck with 5 kids instead. Got my clothes done (mostly) and found the floor in my room!! Ugh, it was really bad. Need to shampoo it. Also cleaned the living room, because I didn't know if company was coming in or not. And fixed two lunches: tuna sandwiches for the kids, then burgers and beans for the guys.
The evening was spent at the inlaws, my SIL was here helping HER MIL (who is my "next door neighbor" a couple miles up the road. She is selling her place out here, they were cleaning out her house and loading all the furniture. Worked all day yesterday, not near done. She hasn't lived out here in 2 years). So we ate at inlaws, and chatted til about midnight.
Needless to say, not doing church today. LOL! It also rained all evening and night, I don't feel like going mudding all dressed up. LOL!
TODAY, I'm going to do the girls clothes. And more laundry.
Don't you just hate it when you've typed a long post and it disappears Not sure what I did. So the highlights were
Jenny, way to go with the clothes!!!
Jamielea, hope you enjoyed the evening out and Savannah did ok with daddy.
Jackie, I love those curls. Alexa is adorable
Rose, I hope you and DS are adjusting to the single parent lifestyle. I remember those days of DH deployment. We're here for support anytime.
Lenora, noticed on the cluttering forum you do the holiday grand plan. Last year I had a group of women meeting at my home every monday to stay on task with the plan. I've decided this year to meet with them every other Monday this year. Need to e-mail them, the program starts on the 28th.
Anne, so wonderful of you to help out with the kids, hope all is going well and the toilets are still working
I agree, Alexa's curls are adorable!
Thank you for your kind words, Susan. The transition to single parenthood has been quite smooth so far. Sadly, this is what is normal for us - DH is away far more often than he is home. It is much easier these days, now that William is self-sufficient in so many ways. I was able to get all of the grass cut today while he put together his Bionicle sets. I also ran over a garter snake in the process I feel terrible about that. I haven't dealt with the mangled remains yet .. I'm hoping that an owl or turkey vulture will get it tonight. I usually delegate dead critter removal to DH. (shudder)
In happier news, the veggie garden is exploding! We had our own corn on the cob tonight I've made a few batches of oven roasted tomato sauce and froze it in ice cube trays. I'm feeling very Martha-esque about that!
Hope everyone is well.
Rose
thanks for the bday wishes guys. It was a good day. The kids and DH gave me a fire pit that I have been wanting for outside and took me out to dinner. The rest of the day was typical Sunday, newspaper, luandry, hanging around.

Good Morning! We are up and about early today. I HAVE to get myself together over here. I am falling off the wagon and its getting really scary. I need to catch up on laundry, do a weekly house blessing, dishes, pay bills. EVERYTHING!! OK enough feeling sorry for myself and now time to get it together!!!
Thanks for all the compliments on Alexas big mop of hair DH and I both have crazy hair. I just hope she didnt get our greasy faces too
Im going to be quick because I ahve work later so I need to get started on my weekly house blessing. I will try to check in later. Have a great day- Love Jack
I'd stay at the Super 8. The nicest place in town, in my opinion. There is a Holiday Inn Express being built, but probably won't be ready yet. And rumors that The Portales Inn is going to be reopened. If it would be, I would say go there, hands down. I used to work there before kids, and had a great restarant (that was where I worked, I was a waitress). It's almost right on the square. There is a cheaper motel real close to McDs called The Sands. But, personally, I'd take The Super 8. But there is no pool at any of them.
McDs for breakfast sounds good to me!! Gotta playland, too. I'm willing to bet that Saturday is going to be our high school's homecoming, but the Varsity game won't be til about 1pm, so I'll have that morning (and you could come out here if you wanted to and see my place afterwards!! It's the same distance for you home from Portales as it is from here).
If you get to take neice out, here are my recommendations:
*If you want steak or seafood, go to Cattle Baron. They have the most wonderful Salad Bar!!
*If you want Mexican, there are two good places. There is Juanitos, but lately their service seems to be suffering. Then there is El Rancho. We know the owners there. And they serve Sopapillas w/ your dinner, instead of having to order seperately.
*There is also supposed to be a new place on the square called The Frontier House (I think). Hadn't tried it. It used to be a good steak/seafood place (the dairymen that had started it were mad at Cattle Baron for throwing them out when they got too drunk, so they started their own place in retaliation. It was really nice. But after 3 or 4 years, they got tired of it and closed it down. The new place is supposed to be American and Mexican food).
*There is also a place right across from McDs called Wagon Wheel. Ate there once, wasn't impressed. DH says breakfast there is pretty good, though.
*also a place on the other side of McDs called Marks Eastern Grill. Not bad. More of a cafe/diner type place. But they have wonderful Huevos Rancheros!
*Burger King shut down a few months ago. I think the owners went bankrupt or something, had to shut down all their chain. So none in Clovis or Portales, and I think Roswell and/or Tucumcari.
*and of course you have your Pizza Hut, Sonic, and a few other drive up burger joints. But you have to have a Pat's Milkshake while you are here. Their most popular (though not mine) is the Peanut Butter Milkshake. But peanut butter in a milkshake just doesn't do it for me. I'll stick to chocolate.
Clovis is about a 20 mile drive from Portales. I have recommendations there if you decide to go up there.
Oooh, I can't wait to meet you and your kiddos!!!!
Maybe that's it. He's a border collie mix. Just wants to run all the time. I tried to get him in the truck, always had to tie him up to keep him from jumping out.
But the other dog we used to have, who was more of a aussie sheppard/blue heeler mix, did like to ride. In fact, he liked riding on top of the toolbox. LOL!
The rottweiler we had YEARS ago loved to ride, too. In fact, he would look thru the back window to see if another car was coming, then as we met them, would bark so viciously at it. He was so funny!! We also enjoyed getting him drunk on old hot beer that was left in the back of the truck. He was quite amusing. He didn't really like beer after that. hmmmm...
We've learned to only have one dog at a time. Two dogs make 1/2 a dog. They start running around, running off, chasing cows, etc. Best just to have one. Ours isn't trained for anything. He goes out with the cows sometimes, but doesn't do anything with them. He's really just a guard dog if anything. He watches for rattlesnakes, plays with the kittens, and barks if someone is coming up the road (though bite and growl, never. More of a alert dog, I guess than guard dog).
I sure do, Susan...though I do the cleaning in a different order. I wish I could invite myself to your meetings! I'll start a thread if you'll kick-in with a comment every now and then!
Blessings,
Lenora

* Cleaned my kitchen counters
* Laundry - still working on this one
I'm afraid a new washer might be in our near future. Mine is not spinning all of the water out & sometimes it is putting more water in when it is on the "spin only" cycle. Just when you think you're getting ahead...

Morning!! Oops, afternoon!

LOL!

Not sure what will go on today. Will probably go thru those couple of boxes of girl clothes (they were given by the mayors wife. LOL! not as big as that sounds.
Ya'll have a great day!!
Jenny- my check engine light
Jenny- my check engine light came on too and the mechanic hooked it up to the diagnotic computer and it said one of the cylinders misfired. He said that I could drive it and not worry about breaking down. He also said it is common if you don't put your gas cap back on tight enough or if you fill your gas tank while the engine is running. He cleared the code and now my dashboard is not flashing that sign. I just got to leave it there for a day sometime for him to re set. Not a biggie so thought I would pass that on to you.
Your aunt will be in my thoughts.....

Engine light
Ok, enough. LOL!
Update on my aunt
Will just have to see.
spelled right
And Crohn's is definitely not as bad as cancer. She can join me and Kerri etc. But she has to be on the ball about taking meds.
For anyone who wasn't checking the other thread, I'm home! Induction went well and DH and I are going to go get dinner soon.
Shopping Day
Today I take DS13 shopping for school clothes.

Hi to everyone.

Morning
Hi all-
Your office sounds like it will be nice Jo- what a lot of changes your family is going through!
Yum.
Catch you later -

first day of school
Danielle at college and Kris started High School

Cable guy late so it's free :)
That's it for tonite.
Until tomorrow,
Susan
Slow around here
Yeah Susan, it's been pretty slow around this thread lately.
Have a nice night!!
Hello from SD

Jo, cool deal on the deal! LOL!
Dogs and cars....
Jenny, is it your cattle dog that doesn't like riding in the car/truck? The one we had didn't like to ride, either! I was just wondering if it might be a "breed" thing...
Blessings,

I didn't realize you had a dog Jenny! I love border collies - they are very similar to Corgis, which we have.
I forgot to say, here in WNY, our schools start late and end late. Remember when the kids and I were still plugging away on June 24th? Well, now it seems worth it, because schools don't start until September 7th!We still havea 3 more weeks! Of coursre, I'll have to work a few days before then.
I've gotten quite a bit done, including cleaning my stove top - yuk! Off to feed kids -

Good Afternoon!
Have a good one everybody

Hi flypals
I'm trying to keep up, just not able to post as much as I'd like. Would be so nice if the computer was down stairs, but that's not going to happen, oh well.
We started back to school Monday, had a very nice 1st day. Homeschool bowling league also started back on Monday, which was fun. Tuesday after our lessons we went to the Witte Museum, Trey had a great time and for the first time Savannah was big enough to go into the baby room
She's walking really well. We're staying pretty busy on the weekends lately, Sunday we went to Sea World and last weekend Fred took all the kids (Tony, Trey, and Savannah) to the zoo! I had about 2 hours all to myself, the longest amount of time I've been alone sense Savannah was born.
Well I guess I should say something about the house
It's ok, not perfect but I'm trying real hard to move past the point of caring so much about every little thing.

Back in the groove
Hi everyone!
DH left last Friday. DS8 and I are settling back into a groove. We spent a few days at my parents' house, fishing and visiting some relatives. School doesn't start until September 6th, so we'll be able to take a few more day trips and have some summer fun before the routine changes again.
Becky, my thoughts are with you. I can't imagine how difficult the past few weeks must have been for you.

Jamie Lea, I can't believe you have been without an hour or two to yourself for a year. I think it's fantastic, but I don't think I was able to do that. My memory is a bit foggy for 6 years back.

My DF is supposed to be having a big potluck pool party this afternoon, but it is about 60 degrees and windy/rainy. My in-laws are supposed to have a corn roast/bonfire tonight. I wonder what will happen given the weather...
Have a fun day flyfriends!

Clothes, Clothes, everywhere!!
I'm going to spend the day sorting clothes, washing clothes, putting away, packing up, cutting up, etc. LOL!
Can't Even Be Sick By Myself!
* Unloaded dishwasher
* Cleaned out refrigerator

Good Morning! Andrea-funny
Good Morning!

Hope you all have a pleasant evening, see ya tomorrow.

back in the land of the living
My physical recovery is going very well and I have been able to run some errands with help, so I'm going to start fall classes and work this week as scheduled. We are also having the apartment exterminated (roaches) on Tuesday so tomorrow will be spent getting it ready.
Happy Birthday Heidi!
TADA(yesterday)
two loads laundry

Jenny, how goes the clothes?
Hope you all have a peaceful Sunday,
-Jo
Hi Flyfriends!!
Went to the dr on Wed- I am due March 30th. Finally told our families and they are so excited!! Here is a link to how I told them-

Not sure what I did.
Not much TADA,

Take care,
Susan
Hello everyone
I agree, Alexa's curls are adorable!
I feel terrible about that. I haven't dealt with the mangled remains yet .. I'm hoping that an owl or turkey vulture will get it tonight. I usually delegate dead critter removal to DH. (shudder)
I've made a few batches of oven roasted tomato sauce and froze it in ice cube trays. I'm feeling very Martha-esque about that!
I also ran over a garter snake in the process
In happier news, the veggie garden is exploding! We had our own corn on the cob tonight
Hope everyone is well.
Rose

thanks for the bday wishes guys. It was a good day. The kids and DH gave me a fire pit that I have been wanting for outside and took me out to dinner. The rest of the day was typical Sunday, newspaper, luandry, hanging around.
Rose-the ice cube tray idea is a good one. I forgot about that. I used to do that with baby food years ago!

Hi Flyfriends!!
Thanks for all the compliments on Alexas big mop of hair
DH and I both have crazy hair. I just hope she didnt get our greasy faces too
Im going to be quick because I ahve work later so I need to get started on my weekly house blessing. I will try to check in later. Have a great day- Love Jack

I'm at school and should be running errands but am popping in for a quick e-mail break. Anyway, PODA=errands. Okay, see ya!
I'd stay at the Super 8. The
I'd stay at the Super 8.
Oooh, I can't wait to meet you and your kiddos!!!!
hmmm
Holiday Grand Plan!
I sure do, Susan...though I do the cleaning in a different order. I wish I could invite myself to your meetings!
I'll start a thread if you'll kick-in with a comment every now and then!
Blessings,
Lenora
