A Disney Vacation for Christmas??
Well, maybe. We had planned on going next summer. We were going to go with my mother, stepfather and Gram and rent a house for a week on St. George Island (they do this every year), and either before or after spend a couple days at DisneyWorld and Epcot.
BUT, my mom has to know by January when we would be coming. And on a farmers schedule, we just can't predict that. We go somewhere when we are able, at least in the summer.
So, DH said, why don't we go during the kids' Christmas break? That leaves out St. George, but DisneyWorld was the big thing. My grandmother REALLY wants to take her great-grandkids, and she ain't getting any younger (she is 82, has already lost both breasts and her female plumbing to cancer). So we want it to be soon, rather than wait for all the kids to be old enough to enjoy it.
So, is Christmas break a pretty good time to go? Is it packed that time of year? How much are tickets these days? How's the weather? I lived in Florida for a little while, February-July. But I haven't been there in the winter since I was a baby.
Any input would be great!

How pregnant will you be then
How pregnant will you be then?Do you want to wait in line with your kids for an hour or more to go on a ride in 85+ degree temps? I am from Florida and I know that Christmas Break and Spring Break are very busy times. They do have timed tickets for some rides/attractions now but you still wait afairly long time to ride. You can get 2 or 3 day passes called park hopper I think. Go online for pricing. Sometimes you can purchase them before you go,we still have them, they don't expire. Seriously think about what you want to do though. You may not want to deal with the crowds and heat yourself so maybe the kids can go with other relatives and you can relax at the hotel, seriously!
*sniff*
When I saw the subject line, I thought you might be coming to Disney LAND and then I could see you! Oh well. If you're with someone in a wheelchair, I'd say go for it. I think people who have non-visible disabilities have to go to Guest Services or whatever it's called, with a doctor's note, to get the front-of-the-line pass, but maybe with a wheelchair it would just be automatic.
Us too
We're thinking about doing that too Jenny! The kids really want to go. We will probably go for 4 nights or something like that. I've been to Disney Land and Epcot in Florida, but never Disney in Florida. I'm also interested in any input!

I'm due November 9th, so the baby will be about 6 weeks old or so.
And I'm not driving 2,000 miles to sit in the hotel! LOL! I don't mind the heat. When I lived in Florida, I spent alot of time working on a cattle ranch in June/July. Ain't no stranger to heat and humidity. And it won't be that bad in December. I was most concerned that it would be too cool to go swimming.
As for lines, well, that's probably a given. We will probably stick my grandmother in a wheelchair. We used to do that with my other grandmother (she lived in Florida, we used to visit her alot and she would always take us grandkids to Disney). We used to get to the front of the lines with her in the wheelchair. hehehe!!!
