HI all,
I'm new around here. I found this sight while searching for homemaking and homeschooling sites. I have just decided to homeschool my 5 yr old son. We moved to a new state (Texas) in April. I was going to send him to public school, but got as far as the school website and saw that the school was very intent on it's dress code, including the fact that the want shirt tails tucked in at all times....
I sat there and thought about it and talked to some long time residents and found out that kids can actually get in trouble if they fail to keep their shirts tucked in. I figure if they are so busy watching shirt tails, they aren't concentrating on learning as much as they should be.
I homeschooled my older children for a couple of years (they are now living with their father and step mother so they can continue to go to the school they have been in for several years) I never imagined I'd be homeschooling again. But here I am...I have never homeschooled a kindergartener. I suppose we will begin to work on reading skills. If anyone has homeschooled from the beginning and has some suggestions or ideas I'd love to hear them.
