I thought I would restart this thread to keep me accountable.
We are back to the program this week. DD is loving the math, she especially likes the daily calendar and weather charts. She fills in the number for each day, which is helping her get more comfortable with two digit numbers and ordinals. I am really impressed with how well she writes her numbers. Her preschool teacher taught her lots of sayings to help her remember how to form them, and it has really helped.
I ordered the Saxon Phonics Monday, and I'm excited to get going with that once it comes. I also got a set of base-ten blocks and a set of fraction tiles on a tray from Classroom Direct.
DS13 was still dithering about what to do next year, so I enrolled him in the Middle School. I know he wants to play in the band and all three sports, and I think it will be best for him to at least try it so he won't wonder what he's missing. I will have no problem pulling him out mid-year and homeschooling if it's not working down there. Hopefully they will be able to work with me on getting him placed in the right math class, which he will have to go to the high school to take, but oh well.
What's everyone else doing?
Bye,
