Frustrated
I have been a stay at home mother since my son was born. I have started to write for a few years now. My husband works so hard. He is a tilesetter and makes good money, but with bills and rent it is never enough.
I also love to shop, so that puts a dent in the funds. I have taken an online job, but the pay is not great.
The problem is the payment was supposed to come last month, and I still haven't recieved my check.
I am also looking for other work. I have a bio, resume and writing samples. I also just published my first poetry book and I am trying to promote that.
The problem is juggling my son, household and all the other duties with my writing. Now, I just found out I may have kidney stones and have been in alot of pain. I go into the hospital for some test next week. I really hope it goes well. I am a little scared.
I hope to make more money in the future, but right now it is hard.

I hope all your medical tests
I hope all your medical tests come out ok and you are well soon. That always puts a wrinkle in things.
And good luck with your writing! Hope you have much success with it. I'm not a writer. But that seems to be a good job for people that stay home to help out with the bills.
I love to shop, too. But anymore, I just can't. I splurged today and got the new Harry Potter book. And about once or twice a year I will go to Old Navy and hit the clearance racks for the kiddos (thank goodness the place is 2 hours away, or else I'd be there alot more!! LOL!). I just gotta say NO and stay home instead. When we don't have alot of extra curricular activities going on, I can get by on going to town once or twice a week. I've splurged on that this summer, though, with swim lessons, Vacation Bible School coming up, and little league for two of my kids.
Hope you find time for the house/son/and writing!! And that the health problems go away.
Jenny

Feeling lousy
always puts a kink in your perspective I find. Fingers crossed that you get better news than you're expecting on the medical front and then you can start to see the rest in a different way. Very likely stress and tension is making whatever's painful a lot worse, especially if it's somewhere round your kidney area. Be gentle to yourself until you have that either sorted or under control in some way.
maybe you can find another hobby than shopping, like reading, without buying tons of expensive new books. And being scared before a medical exam is perfectly normal, so again, be gentle withyourself, at least until that's past. Try to lower your expectations a bit in the household chores area, and if your son's old enough maybe you can explain that you aren't feeling too well and you need him to amuse himself a bit more for a while, or help out more. Ask him for the help. Even my son understood that when he was under 5, and learned to leave me in peace when I felt bad, and to make his own lunch and breakfast (with a little of his older sister's help I admit!).
keep us posted on how your medical goes...
Kerri.
