Monday morning
I have had trouble sleeping at night the past few days because I keep remembering Lynn's blog, the logical conclusion of which is that I am condemned to a hellish existence and early death in about 15 years. (Not taking Lynn's word for it, I have been researching what actual geologists say, which is that we won't really run out of energy then but will have to pollute a lot more in order to get it, which is not much better.) So, anyway, here's my PODA while I'm still alive and kicking:
-send a fax to some people who owe me money
-type up DH's resume and mine, fax to a couple of jobs we are interested in
-get DH to help me open a box of goodies my mom sent
-get groceries
-clean catbox or get DH to do it
-take out trash
morning!! Heidi and Vonnie
morning!!
Heidi and Vonnie, organized sports wouldn't be bad if it weren't for a handful of parents. One of the good things (I guess) about DD's leagues is that we aren't even keeping score. They are just learning the game, and it's either machine pitch or t-ball. Next year in 3rd grade, dd8 will be in minor seniors and will start getting competitive. At least at this level, the coaches all seem to be very supportive of LEARNING, not WINNING. Wish we had some hoem games. All of ours are away. LOL! It's our "local" team, but I guess there was always too much fighting over who was going to practice at our local field and play there, so the person in charge opted to just have everything in town. Which works better for most of the kids, as they already live in town and are out of district at our school. Doesn't work well for me, as I live the farthest than any of the others from town. LOL! Only a month left!
and a little note to heidi.
maybe if we didn't have our closest child neighbor 5 miles away, we could just play out in the backyard with the neighborhood kids, too. LOL! But organized sports is just part of the way of life out here. Mine will play all the ones I'm able to get them to, from 4-H stuff (showing animals and stuff) to the sports (mostly school sports). I'm really hoping I can get them into rodeo soon. Like after this kid is born. We are planning on seeing if our old gelding will be a good kids horse or if we need to buy another one, then hopefully in the next year or two, have the girls pole bending and maybe goat branding.
Ok, enough off topic stuff! LOL!
I have to get bills done TODAY!! Oops! Also need to plan for the girls birthday party this weekend and get invites out. The kids, DH and I got the house done yesterday, so I'm not doing my blessing today. Maybe a load of laundry, and we will see what else the day has to bring. Have a meeting for Booster Club tonight, and a game after that. DH went to Anne's town to get us a 4-wheeler we are buying (Anne, I REALLY wanted to go and maybe meet you, but I had to be back here in time for other stuff).
Ya'll have a great day!
whoops...here I am...
Kids off school today (in service for teachers, think it is to put some pep into for the next 8 days, which is all we have left of school...lol)
Up early and moving...for some weird reason...

Hi Everyone
magaw55
Had a busy weekend..... son in law had an auction and so we all went and attended.... I took the kids to the park to entertain them there.... I had such a good time with them.... THOSE are my best times.... NOthing like spending time with the grandkids....
Today back to work.... trying to get my computer back on track.... Looks like it may take a new hard drive.... not sure yet...
Made a quick lunch.... leftover ham, mushroom soup, cream cheese, minced onion, salt, pepper, milk, macaroni, and bread crumbs on top.... and baked in oven for around 30 min.... easy and pretty darn good.... I went to the "leftover magic" page and tried one with the ham...... hubby almost ate half the casserole himself..... and he is picky.
went to Station ( we own and operate an old station... ) for almost 37 years.... MOM and POP kind of place.... back home again.... called my brother about a reunion and made reservations for us and my parents ......
just took out winter clotes from closet and going to store it down stairs in another closet.....
Wow, what to do with all those high school t-shirts the kids left for me.... I find myself in t-shirts cause they are so comfortable.... but they just don't wear out.....
Doing some laundry, and watching Dr. Phil and going to watch Oprah later..... It's going to be about losing weight..... a constant battle of mine.... losing weight.
talk to you all later
have a wonderful afternoon
Shirley
Soooo windy here in Kansas today..... going
Hi Shirley!
I so look forward to having grandkids. I figure with 5, I am bound to end up with a few.
Well, I didn't do much flying today. We didn't go to our friends' house because hers was as wrecked as mine. I should have caught up here, but I sat around looking at the computer & catalogs instead (and cooked supper).
So TADA, not much.
I really need to start flying again so I can post here.
Later!
Susannah
Sorry to be AWOL
I feel like I haven't "been here" in so long.
We had our post placement visit today. It went well. Gave me an excuse to do some "real" cleaning. House looks pretty good. Still working on my laundry, though.
Pretty bummed about DD's kidney situation. Dr. wants her to see a renal specialist. They'll call back when they make appt. I've of course been researching polycystic kidney disease on the 'net and it's pretty scary and depressing.
Well, tomorrow is another day. I'll try to get back on track with my PODAs and TADAs. Cya!
Vonnie
Hello
Sounds like your hormones might be kickin in Becky
Hope your feeling a little more optimistic tomorrow, you've got lots to look forward to with your new baby on the way.
Jenny, your making me jealous with the 4-wheeler! It's been forever sense I've been on one.
How was the game?
Welcome Shirley!
Vonnie, the internet can be so scary. Anytime I tell my Dr. I've been on the internet I get the rolling of the eyes. You and your dd are in my prayers.
Hope everyone is having a good night.
We're staying busy. Worked on graduation invitations for Anthony this weekend. Also moved some stuff out of my pantry and into the garage. Home School is taking over the pantry. I don't really see any way around it though. I save all Trey's text books and always buy an extra workbook so that Savannah can re-use his text. So I already have K, 1st and now 2nd grade stuff and can't afford to get rid of any of it. Small price to pay I guess.
Today was HS bowling. The house stayed pretty clean this weekend, I threatened lives if anyone put dirty dishes anywhere but the DW. Worked pretty good, had I know....
Well DH's ready to watch a movie, see you guys tomorrow.
Jamie Lea
it's not pregnancy hormones
I've been quite worried about this for years (since I was 14), it just didn't come up on TNH and Lynn's blog reminded me.
Jamie Lea, homeschooling supp
Jamie Lea, homeschooling supplies sounds like scrapbooking supplies. LOL!
Vonnie, I'm thinkin' about your DD.
Game went well. Had to add another meeting this evening: 4-H, THEN Fine Arts Booster, THEN the game. LOL! DH pulled up with the new 4-wheeler just as I was leaving, so I haven't had a chance for a ride yet. But it's a 1998, and is practically BRAND NEW!! The owner (a cousin of ours) barely used it, and kept it in the garage the rest of the time. And got a good deal: $2,800 (which was our tax return check). Looks like a good investment, for some fun, anyway.
Girls are in bed, I'm going to see if I can talk Chance into it a little early tonight. I have OB tomorrow, and LOTS of other errands (Joe's boot shop, parts stores, Walmart). Plus I'm taking a friend with me to help with Chance at the Dr., might just have to hit Hobby Lobby and Chili's.
About the only TADA I have is I got bills done. Hey, it's something.
Night!
oh, yeah
Forgot to tell that my cat had kittens last night. Haven't seen them yet, she has them hidden in one barn or another, and some of those barns I don't want to snoop around too much. No telling what creature I may find! Did find two screech owls that scared me enough. Anyway, last night she was up at the house and we were holding her and her fat belly and could feel the little babies inside kicking around. Today, she was up at the house and was skinny again. So, they are somewhere. I gave her a can of cat food I happened to have around, she was still up here when I left. Her brother was here later (also the daddy. They are also the kittens I found last September. Yep, their just teens having their siblings babies. LOL!).
Anyway, just wanted to share.
are you 100% sure
...that the brother is the daddy of all of them? Kittens can have more than one father for a single litter.
Most of my PODA is now SLUG!
But I did get groceries at least.
Another Tuesday Morning
I'd really like nothing more than just to stay at home this morning. I am tired, DD has the beginnings of a cold and my house is actually clean (from yesterday), so I could enjoy it. But, I don't want to switch and have to go to the office Thursday morning, so I guess I'll tough it out and go in.
Thanks, Becky. I didn't realize Kerri had PKD. I tried to figure out how to PM her & couldn't, so maybe she'll see this post. I'm still bummed about it. I need to stop looking at the internet until we see the renal doctor, though.
I do have a PODA for today:
* Get DD to preschool (only 3 more days)
* Go by summer program and drop off registration
* Work at my office
* Laundry - need to finish it up
* Plan what we're having for dinner
* Clip coupons from Sunday paper
Not bad at all compared to my normal PODA. I'm already started on the laundry, so that helps.
Did anyone watch the last episode of Everybody Loves Raymond? It was OK, I guess I was just expecting somthing "big". Marie still reminds me of my MIL to a degree. If we lived across the street from her (which they DID want us to buy a house right down the street about a year ago!), I'll bet that's how my life would be!
Well, I need to scoot. DD is still snoozing, not wanting to get up and get going.
Y'all have a good day!
Vonnie
suggestions for hotels in TX
good morning all,
DH has decided that we will all be going with him to Del Rio TX for a pilot graduation. 20 years ago this summer I pinned on his wings at the same base. We will be staying in San Antonio for one night, del rio two nights and then to Corpus Christi for 4 nights. So, all you Texas ladies, any suggestions for hotels or condos near or on the beach in the Corpus area? Any good hotels on the riverwalk in San Antonio? We will be staying on base in scenic del rio.
PODA
finish hair (still wet)
make up beds
meet friend at church for office help
meet group for lunch about high school meetings next year
shopping for a new blouse for formal dinner next friday night. (Sen. Mitch McConnell is speaking)
stop at grocery store for something easy for supper, probably grill out
not much time for housework , but DD is home now and helping out alot.
Got to get this hair dried, hello to all and have a great day.
Susan
Flybabies invade Texas??
We too are headed to NewBraunsfel, Tx..outside of SanAntonio. We are going the last week of June. Doing the Seaworld thing, and river rafting...My dear, MIL is there! I can handle her in small doses...but the kids can do overdoses...lol
The kids are officially flying...they learned how to clean a bathroom yesterday....I felt like a teacher. The watched me, then I gave each of them a wipee, and both bathrooms got wiped down 4 times! lol So part of the chores is either, swift bathroms, wipe down toilet or sink..(I hand out the wipees) They were giggling...and the best part was last nite, them argueing about keeping the bathroom clean, so it would be easier to clean. I almost hit the floor! I am mopping the floor still, but so much easier, when they have kept it clean! The rather large globs of toothpaste, etc.
So today
PODA
shower,
wash my sheets
boys laundry
remake beds
girls are learning typing, that will take a bit today
lay in sun, and paint my nails!
get dogs shots, and call on kennel cost and researve for june/july vaca's
hello's around!
Ladies - ATTENTION - I did something!
Took our dear pup to the vet.....he had been a little under the weather. Well, the vet said he must be eating cat poop in the yard (after crossing off several other things on the list) and he has worms again. These are contagious to humans! Well, anything after that was like Charlie Brown's teacher! I have worms in my house is what I took away from the conversation. OCD kicked in and the ENTIRE house is spotless and the carpets have been shampooed, dog was bathed, kids scrubbed and all sheets and blankets washed!
DH thought I was nuts, but he helped for fear I would explode or implode, he wasn't sure which! The boys pitched in and the DOG was on his best behavior!
So, my house it ship shape, except for all the crap that I threw in the office. Hey, better one BIG hot spot then having them scattered!
This moring I had a giggle fit, just thinking what a lunatic I am!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've never stayed at hotels in San Antonio
but I LOVE the Omni Bayfront in Corpus. They've got an indoor and outdoor pool. A spa, hot tub, and a work out room. A great restaurant on the top floor, glass walls ceiling to floor, great view of the bay. (a little pricy, but worth it) Very nice, we've stayed there every summer for the last few years. OHHH, also go online and join there "Select guest" it's free and it gets you all sort of little perks, early check in (I think 11), late check out at 3:00. You can also "customize" your stay with extra pillows, blankets, your choice of beverage delivered to your room in the morning at the time you select. Pretty neat feature and it's free. They send us discount coupons like "stay 2 get one free" And I think every 10 nights we stay we get one free.
Anne, we'll be in SC around the last week of June. I get a little paranoid about saying that on the net. But then I figure with the Home Owners Association president and Cellular on Patrol living next door, and the fact that I had a pretty spiffy security system installed while DH was at Ft. Hood, that combined with a psyco dog and a guy DH works with looking in on things... I feel pretty safe.

Sorry I'm going to miss you. I know we had talked about you guys were going to Sea World, and we bought season passes
Maybe next time.
Well kids are driving me batty, see yall in a bit.
Susan
there are 2 Omni's RIGHT beside each other down there. the bayfront is the one we stay in, I'm not sure about the other one but other people have told me it's not as nice. If you check it out just make sure it's the "Bayfront"
Good afternoon! Vonnie-han
Good afternoon!
Vonnie-hang in there! Things will all work out in time.
Welcome Shirley!
Hi everyone!

Have lots of groceries and other errands but am home now with DS so......will weed and water, perhaps mow. Also, laundry and tidying are always needed. I need to run up to school to get some of his work that he has missed the last 2 days so we can plug along at it today if he feels up to it. Poor kid.
Better go,DD wants to play!

I'm cracking up at Jana's cleaning spree and the "Charlie Brown" comment.
Becky, even though it may have been on your mind for years, pregnancy hormones do disturb sleep. I just finished reading a thread on another site where all the pregnant ladies were complaining of sleepiness when they had to be awake, and wakefulness at night. I remember it too.
Worries only exacerbate it. Anyway, I know it does absolutely no good to say, "Don't worry" but it also really does no good to worry about things you can't control and that may never happen anyway. I know nurturing a new life even subconsiously makes me more sensitive to things that already upset me, and the "what if" scenarios start whirling furiously in my mind. Especially if they could affect my future with my child. All that to say, I sympathize.
(((Hugs)))
I haven't done much flying, but TA DA: I finished sewing a toddler bib for a baby shower tonight. I need to wrap it and get directions to the hostess's house. I also need to make an easy supper before I go: spaghetti, probably.
I might do a quick-pick-up in the living room and a quick vacuum too. Just so I feel settled about going. Tomorrow night I have to go to homegroup and Thursday night is a mom's night out with our homeschool group. Don't know if DH will be up to my being out three nights this week, but I'd love to go.
Anyway, love y'all!
Susannah
P.S. Vonnie, I wanted to add something. I don't know if this helps at all, but the mother of a childhood friend of mine had PKD and she is doing well now in her early sixties? I think, or at least late-fifties. I'll be praying for y'all.
Charlie Brown's teacher
On the TV specials, Charlie Brown's teacher said actual words. BUT, Bill Melendez (or one of the head animation honchos, I forget which one exactly) said them, and then a trombonist would listen to his inflections and duplicate them on a trombone. So what you actually hear is the trombone.
DH is a Peanuts fanatic. We know everything about Peanuts in this house.
Becky, since I only have ONE
Becky, since I only have ONE male cat and no other ones for miles, yeah, I'm pretty sure.
Jana, I need something like that to kick my butt into gear!! LOL!
Jamie, not many people out their in cyberspace know your real address (or last name to find out! LOL!). But I'll be sure to spread it around. Hey, flygals, Jamie Lea is going out of town, let's all meet up at her house and PARTY!! LOL!
Went to the dr. all is well. Heard the heartbeat (after much searching). Ran errands, took a friend with me, bought her lunch at the Mexican place I've been craving. Back home for a few minutes til I gotta go to ball game tonight. And I really need to finish PowerPoint for kindergarten slide show, too.
Good evening! Picked up a
Good evening!
Picked up a couple bags of dark mulch on my way home from picking up DS'homework assignments. Spread it on the front bed and it makes it look much better. DS feels better but not well enough to tackle some homework!! Imagine that?!? I won't press too hard but he sure will have tons to make up.
Susannah-have fun at the shower. I sure hope you can get to the other activities this week as well. Where are you planning on going for ladies night out?
Jenny-glad the ultrasound went well. I never had Chili's until visiting my dad in Florida this past Spring Break and boy was it GOOD!
Cut the front dandelion bed or should I say front lawn?? I hate those things and all DD loves more than anything is blowing them all over the yard!
Best go now......
Have a pleasant night.
Heidi

Jeez, time is just flying by this week. I'm in one of those busy ruts full of routine, and the days just speed by, blurring into one another.

go to bed-I'm, tired!
Becky, I just hate the too-worried-to-sleep syndrome. It makes me mad and then I'm even more agitated. I hope you are feeling better about it soon.
Jana, Yikes! I would clean like that too.
Jenny, you are too funny. I'll go party at Jamielea's with you!
Glad the recent OB appointments went well for you and Becky. I thought of you today too when a friend of mine who is coaching her DD's team of 8 year olds told me a horror story about the other coach benching an 8 y.o. last night because she struck out! My gracious, what is with these people!
Vonnie, my heart goes out to you. I hope all goes as well as is possible with DD. No matter what happens, you are a strong woman with a strong family. You can handle it.
Anne, I made a sweet mind picture of you and the kids cleaning the bathroom. What fun that they were aware of keeping it clean as a result. What a great lesson for them. I can only take my MIL in small doses too. Unfortunately she lives within spittin' distance, not unlike Marie Barone. So far, no bloody murder, but you never know. Sometime remind me to tell you the story of how she managed to shut me out of DS14's 2nd birthday party. I will *never* get over that.
OK, gotta go help DS.
Bye,
-Jo
Are we being a little smarty pants?
Humm? Are we Jenny?!?
Seriously I figure between what I say on this site and my attached "family" website, it could be easily enough put together. But just to be on the safe side I'll have my neighbor the COP be on the lookout for you and Jo!! Just clean the place while your here!
Well got a lot done today, too much to TADA and I'm too tired besides.
See yall in the morning.
Jamie Lea
Morning
Morning Guys!
I'm finally here - been busy of course, but I missed you guys!
Well, my big news today is that I'm 40! I didn't think it would get to me but for some reason I woke up crabby and kind of teary. Maybe it was the Benadryl I took last nite. I do feel blessed though, I am fortunate to have everything I do. The kids gave me two hanging baskets for the front porch - raspberry cascading geraniums and a card. DH is having a party for me Saturday nite - 10 couples I think. Should be fun but I hate being the center of attention.
Well, I do have a PODA today, but will TADA it later. I am going into classes today and also have the spring concert!
Vonnie, I hope you are resting easier, prayers for DD.
Hi Jamie Lea - that's great to have a neighbor to watch your house!
Jo, you are a saint to put up with your MIL, guess you don't really have a choice though do you?
Jenny, sorry those parents were being such jerks about tball, ridiculous.
Hi Becky! Thanks for the Peanuts trivia, those weird voices always puzzled me!
Anne, I'm amazed at your kiddos, wow!
Susannah - hope you make some of those nights out!
Bye guys!
Andrea
Happy Birthday to You...
Happy Birthday to You, Happy Birthday, Dear Andrea, Happy Birthday to Youuuuuuuu! (And many more.)
And birthday (((hugs)))!! May your party be great fun for you!!
Okay on the party at Jamilea's, but by the time I get there she'll be back home! LOL!
The shower was a blast last night. Lots of hilarious games and laughter, and a great time of prayer for the mom-to-be. And good snacks, too.
I have to tell this: one of the games involved putting a grocery sack over our heads, then the leader said, "Now take off something you don't need." Of course, we were supposed to take off the doggone sack, but only one of us got it...and one of the gals took off her bra!
She's like: "Well, it was the first thing I thought of."
Okay, so back to business. I've already done Elias's reading lesson and ReadyWriter and gotten the baby dressed. The girls are supposed to be getting their beds made. We get such a late start in the mornings! It's my fault; I need to amend my wake-up time.
PODA:
*Make a snack for tonight's homegroup; I think I'll do PB&J bars, which I have ingredients for.
*Do laundry
*Round robin
The house is really dirty, especially the carpet, and I'm a bit discouraged on one hand...but on the other, I keep making all these mental plans to paint. First, I think of painting the kids' bathroom, because it would be such a small project and I've already got the "new" shower curtain up so I have colors to work from ($1 at a yard sale--it's so cute!). Family Fun had a great example of making wall stickies with clear contact paper and acrylic paint. I could make little fish to match the shower curtain!
Second, I think of painting the girls' room and putting up a gallery of their drawings, etc. Maybe all along the top of the walls (another Family Fun idea). But their walls need a lot of work first. Lots of holes.
I think I'll finish out this week of homeschooling & running around, and buy paint this weekend. Then we can take a little break to do some redecorating. What say? I think we've already fulfilled our 180 days anyway. I can be repairing the girls' walls this weekend too.
On a more positive note, our grass is filling in out back pretty well.
We still have a lot of bare spots, but maybe DH will overseed this weekend. He's already mowed it twice.
Well, I'd better get myself started.
Love,
Susannah
Mornin'! Just to clarify,
Mornin'!
Just to clarify, I didn't have an US yesterday. We just heard the baby on the doppler thingy.
Catch up today. And it hit me last night that even though I only invited 12 kids over for the birthday party this weekend, there will be about 40 or so people here!! Oops! So must do more cleaning, especially outside. Borrow some chairs and a big table. Take out trash. Wanna find those kittens. And really clean out my truck good, including the back. So much to do.
BTW, finally got the drive the 4-wheeler and it is COOL!!! I'm going to have some fun on it!
Good Afternoon! Happy Birt
Good Afternoon!
Happy Birthday,Andrea! That party sounds like fun, enjoy it!
Jenny-can't wait to see pix of you at 9 mos pregnant riding the 4 wheeler!!!
Susannah-I say go for it with the redecorating. Do the wall clingies stay on with velcro? sounds like fun.

Happy Birthday, Andrea!!! Lo
Happy Birthday, Andrea!!! Lordy, Lordy, looks whos 40!!! LOL!
I just got back from a relaxing ride on the 4-wheeler, about 4 miles thru the pastures. DH decided to take Chance with him to try to sell some hay, so I'm by myself. Going to turn this computer off and get some work done!!
Happy birthday Andrea!
I actually (for the first time in ages) read Flylady's Morning Musing today. The theme was, "There is no wagon to fall off of," if you didn't see it. It was interesting.
PODA:
-see if DH wants to go to school with me today or tomorrow (he has to do one or the other so he can register)
-if he says tomorrow, just get as many Flylady e-mails done as I can because I can wait until then too
We have a guest coming over Saturday night. He's not TOO big on neatness but I want the place to look better when he gets here. Unfortunately the laundry rooms at the apartment complex are supposedly closed for remodeling starting this past Tuesday, through Friday, but when I was going to do laundry Monday I saw that they were already closed. So I'm going to have to handwash a couple of things to make it through.
Happy Birthday Andrea
your party sounds like great fun
There you go again Jenny with the 4-wheeler talk. Well it's just as well I don't have one, no room in my yard to ride one
Way to go on the grass Susannah, I know you've wanted that for a long time.
Well today was park day, paid for an extra yearbook. There only $6.00 and I figrue then I'll have one to put up for both of them.
Almost decided to go van shopping today but I talked myself out of it. This is about the time I/we usually start itching for a new one, the warranty on mine just ran out. I'm going to TRY to make it 2 more years, get it paid off and then have a while to enjoy that xtra money. Besides, there's not really anything out there that I like better than what I've got now.
PODA
*finish reading for the day (maybe do a little American Heritage)
*figure out what's for dinner.
*spiffy downstairs
See you gals later.

As always, things change at the last minute.
I was in the middle of douching the truck, and DH called. Emergency!! He and Chance had gone out to lunch, and were ready to leave when he realized he had no wallet or money. So, I had to go to town and bail him out. Maybe I should have seen if they would just make him do dishes. Ended up running an errand with him, got back in time to pick up the girls from school, and only that wiped me out. I don't wanna work anymore today.
Sounds like a good opportunity to just work on the Powerpoint stuff and make the music CDs for tomorrow.
BTW, no luck in finding the kittens. She's got them hid pretty good and won't come when I call her, only when she is ready for food.
Vonnie
I left you a PM last night with my email address, so come over and give me a shout when you're ready...
Kerri.
Oh, give me a break! Where i
Oh, give me a break! Where is everyone this morning!!!???
Well, this day has just started out lovely. All was well, went to help with practice for kindergraduation. It was my job to move and set up the computer for the slide show and get that and the music ready to roll. Then DH calls, broke down, needs me to come get him NOW! Told him to give me 10 minutes. Arguement ensued. Explicits said (him. I wanted to but I'm having an argument on my cell phone in the middle of the high school hall and here comes the principle. No, I can't cuss right now). He hung up in a huff, said he'll just call his dad. Called me back, what's the number to the Ford house? Called back again, no parts store in Clovis or Portales had the part he needed. I'm stressed, the coke machine at the school was sold out. Chance doesn't want to sit and behave, wants to be with his sisters, who are practicing the graduation. Screaming. More screaming. Finally, I have to leave.
So, today I'm a failure. I couldn't help with graduation practice because of Chance, and couldn't help DH because of graduation practice.
Gotta do my school news for the newspaper, laundry, clean the house some. Mow some maybe. Find some table and chair for party this weekend. Make list of stuff to buy for party. Find out if we are having ball practice tomorrow, if so, need to make notes for the kids to give out at school. And I want to just go back to bed.
maybe I'll have something GOOD to report later.
Good Afternoon! Poor Jenny

Whoo!
Jenny, I have so been there with the screaming toddler thing. And the irritable husband thing. You have my empathy.
For a while there, I started skipping things that involved driving all the way to another town only to have 2 toddlers asleep in the van by the time I got there, screaming and crying if I woke them up, then all over the place once they calmed down. They're better now.
TA DA:
Scary.
Cleaned up and decluttered my master bath, bedroom closet, and bedroom. Picked up/vacuumed living room. Mopped kitchen, scrubbed nasty walls by table where kids drop food, cleaned windows, did/put away dishes. Did some laundry, folded some (not all), put away some (not all), went to a moms' night out at an Italian restaurant. Came home, prepped for tomorrow's end-of-school party. Wrote out grocery list. Anna Kate's 9th birthday is tomorrow. Will have to go grocery shopping with kids after end-of-school picnic if we want a cake/dinner/balloons.
My knees are aching and it's midnight, and it's storming outside, so...night-night y'all!
Love,
Susannah
friday
HI all,
DH is home today. He has already started on cleaning the bathrooms. DS is in Washington DC until Sunday. DD has nearly finished all unpacking from college and decluttering closets and clothes. Now to move the bags of stuff to the garbage and yard sale pile. Our annual yard sale in June 11. So the next few weeks will be daily booging with yard sale in mind. (I know it's not a flylady thing, but is ours)
PODA
clean bathrooms (DH and DD)
vacuum entire house
dust entire house
2-3 loads of laundry
that should make for a nice and tidy house
Tonite Armed Forces formal dinner with Senator Mitch McConnell and about 1000 guests. DH was suppose to be at the head table. He told them he was bringing me and our DD19 they said it would not be appropriate for 3 at the head table just 2, so DH said put us at another table, sitting with my family is more important than sitting at the head table. He is such the family man. I do hope they do the courtesy of introducing him (he is currently the head of the ky air national guard) but, it's no big deal to him.
Well, off to help get things done. E-mail check, checkbook balanced and bills paid on line.
Have a great Friday
Susan

Morning!
Bout time ya'll peeked your heads in!!
Susan, I bet it's good to have DD home! Say, does your DH have any influence with the BRAC people? We need some help over here, badly.
K. grad was good last night. Chance was a little terror, but what else is new. Same this morning for the awards assembly for the elem. kids. Home for about an hour or so, I want to get the lawn mowed. I have a HUGE list for today:
*mow (yard and other places)
*errands (about 7 different places at least)
*two of those are to get cake and food for cookout tomorrow
*go by community building and steal tables and chairs (yeah, when I planned this birthday, I forgot I don't have seating for 40!!)
*ball practice at 5:30 back in town
I might steal the tables and chairs in the morning when I'm stealing all the ice out of the ice machine there. I'm making two things of homemade ice cream in the morning.
Someone remind me that pregnant women can't drink? I'm going to need some margaritas tomorrow. lol!
Ok, gotta get the yard mowed. Pick up DD8 from school at noon, last day!! and go to town. Have a great day!
Good Morning
what's left of it...
DH went in late this morning so that's my excuse for having done nothing.
My goal for the day, hoping posting will keep me accountable!
*do SOMETHING in everyroom (even if it's just something quick.
*last day in the 1/2 bath and pantry zone (try to make it count)
*homeschool
*get ready for company tomorrow night
see yall in a bit

Our End of Year picnic has been postponed, so I spackled in the girls' room and finished pushing laundry through machines.
I thought I'd started the crock-pot this morning, but I forgot to plug it in! LOL! So it's on "high" right now in hopes of finishing by dinner. My mom is coming over for birthday cake and presents.
Boiling eggs right now 'cause we're starving and it's about the only food in the house.
At some point, kids and I will take off for the store.
Oh, the Italian place also serves Greek, so I got a gyro and brought one home for DH too.
It was fun. More laughing ladies. Nice & relaxing. Made a yard saling date with a friend.
Later!
Susannah
Oh, and DH shaved the boys' heads. 3yo practically has to be put in a leg lock to get it done. What a circus! But once he was done, he calmed right down.
Mermaid Chair
Susannah, Mermaid Chair is a new book by the author of The Secret Life of Bees. I haven't read it but assume if you liked one you'd like the other.
Jenny, reminding you that pregnant women can't drink. Lucky me, I have an aversion to alcohol now. As well as to food.
Hi everyone else. I had art history class yesterday. It's a good class but FOUR HOURS long twice a week, so my butt was really sore after the end from sitting on the hard chair. Came home and slept for fourteen hours, except one of the cats woke me up every two. Trying to get me ready for the baby I guess. Anyway, we're having that guest over tomorrow night. PODA:
-eat something (yuck) before I pass out
-pick up the living room
-clean the downstairs bathroom and kitchen
-get DH to help with whatever I can, when he gets up from his nap
-take a nap myself
Ok, I'm beat. I got nearly
Ok, I'm beat.
I got nearly everything done on my list. All errands, groceries, mowing done. Tomorrow need to steal table and chairs, ice, make ice cream, pick up some stuff outside, and clean up the house a little.
Came home to the surprise that our AC is putting out hot air. Crap. And it's supposed to hit 100 tomorrow! And it's the weekend. Well, so it goes.
Have a nice night.
Morning
Wow Jenny, I'm proud of you!
I'll have to check out that book Becky, I loved the other one. I just started the Kite Runner for my book club.
Well, we have a very busy day ahead with baseball game, dance recital, and my party! I have to admit it will be a bit of a relief when it is over!
Andrea
Good Morning! Susannah- I
Good Morning!
Susannah- I wouldn't suggest leaving any kids unattended in a store play area...there are some groceries around here that have a sign in desk and a gated area supervised by child care workers. I think the Giant Eagle chain is the big one promoting it lately. Sorry if it came across wrong.
Andrea-I know what you mean about looking foward to a party but being happy to have it all done with too. "Mermaid Chair" was good though I liked the Secret Life of Bees better.
PODA
morning routine
shower and dress
read paper
take kids to fair
come home to dinner
take DS to musical and fireworks
Pretty easy weekend here, just laying low.
Heidi
TADA
I finished that PODA from yesterday! Picked up the living room, cleaned the kitchen and bathroom. With DH's help.
It still doesn't look great but it's halfway presentable.
Ha ha!
I thought Heidi was *painting* a Mermaid Chair. A la Family Fun or something. Oh well... No time to read fiction these days, alas. Not if I want to post on TNH.
Sorry about the A/C, Jenny. I just heard on the radio it was in the triple digits out your way. Got an oscillating fan?
DH just got home! He'd been out riding (motorcycles) today. He's all in one piece (whew).
TA DA's:
)
*Yesterday, went yard saling with my friend. Found good stuff, like better quality hair clippers (ours pull--$3!!) and a nice 3-CD stereo ($15) for DH to use when working in the garage. Friend found what she was looking for, too (boys' clothes).
*Went to Mom's after lunch with all the kids and started working on bibs. Brought home stuff to do with that.
*Made supper
*Folded laundry (DH helped
*Put away laundry
*Tried to watch Return of the Jedi. But it looks kinda dumb now. And our video tape quality has degraded.
*Got up, made it to church only 15 minutes late.
*Had the famous sticky chicken with Mom at our house. Oh, that gravy. Finished off birthday cake.
*Started sewing ties on a bib for a shower gift (another shower tomorrow night...we have a very productive church).
PODA:
*Put another coat of spackle on the girls' walls
*Iron the ironing pile.
*Maybe pick up sale meat at local grocery store. Oh, we need milk! *Definitely* go to the grocery store. Right now, as a matter of fact.
Later!
Susannah
The party is over!
Only 25 showed, but it was fun anyway. It was the kids most bestest friends, anyway. Good time was had by all.
Today was nothing but busy. Church, two receptions (one for grads, one for a 50th anniversary), and we went out to lunch. Home now, have headache. Just wanted to pop in.
AC is working for the moment, PTL. It's in the mid 90's and that would REALLY suck!!! LOL!
Will see ya'll in the morning.
New thread coming up!
The trouble with bucket seats is that not everybody has the same size bucket~Maxine
polycystic kidney disease
Vonnie, Kerri, like her mother, has polycystic kidney disease. You should talk to her about it.
Mermaid chair?
Do tell! Sounds cute.
I probably wouldn't use the child play area if they had one, not even locally. I'm too scared to leave 'em alone. I shop at a Super Wal-Mart in the next town...too big! DH is out doing errands or I'd leave them at home.
