Stick It In Your Ear; or, The Nursing Toddler

Shaun's picture

DD almost-2 is a big fan of the breast. She likes to nurse, of course, but she also likes to pretend to nurse, lick the nipple like a lollipop (which I don't always notice right away), and generally play around when mom is too sleepy to be no-nonsense.

Her latest trick, however, is to try to insert the nipple into her ear. Not sure why, but it's so weird that I let her do it just because it is fascinating to watch her and try to imagine what she is thinking. Naturally she's keeping her cards close to her chest -- she just says, "nummy . . . ear."

In other funny kid news, DD almost-6 came into my office and found something on the floor. In total rapture she exclaimed, "Hey, a piece of cardboard that's folded! Cool!" When I told her she could use it she grinned and hugged it tightly to her chest. It's the simple things, really . . .

While I did nurse, I never had one stick it in his ear....

Now, DH on the other hand!!!!!! Sorry I just couldn't resist! Smiling That cracked me up. I do applaude you for letting her be open!!

DS6 is constructing a robot as we speak with egg cartons, cardboard, marbles, ribbon, clay, butter tubs and all the other stuff he "saves". He is truly a pack rat but he does come up with fun things to do with it.

He LOVES cardboard!!! He can play with it for hours!

Enjoy the simply things.....isn't that what we say? And look, they are.....cardboard and boobs!!!! Smiling

Poking kids....

DD10 was a poke-er...but in reverse: she wanted her fingers in my mouth, in my nose, in my ear... Puzzled

She also loves (still) to "use" scraps of anything: cardboard, bubble wrap, and especially fabric! It's like she's finding treasure. Most recently, she's been gathering scraps of foam-core board left from my presentations for interior design class and hoarding them until she "get enough" for her "project." I have no idea what the "project" is or will be....but she assured me that it will be "cool!"

Blessings,
Lenora

nipples in ears

My two stuck nipples in their ears, fingers in my mouth, nose and eyes, you name it. Josie used to nurse as a toddler hanging upside down over my shoulder.
