FIL in hospital

Submitted by Becky on Fri, 02/04/2005 - 4:22pm.

We just got a phone call from DH's grandmother that Billy, my FIL, is in the hospital recovering from a heart attack. DH is of course very upset, more so because his mother died of a heart attack about five and a half years ago. Grandma did say that FIL was recovering, which is good, and there was some ambiguous indication that he might be able to come soon.

Should be, he might be able to come HOME soon. (I can't figure out how to edit my post when it's the forum topic.)

Sorry to hear about DH's Dad, Becky.
Hopefully we will recover fully and well. I have a relative who had a heart attack a decade ago, and he is fit as a fiddle now.

Thinking of Billy, you and DH, and his family.

We are flying out on an emergency fare to see him tonight (I can't visit the hospital with my cold but I can give DH moral support), and I don't think I will have internet access there. We are supposed to be back Monday if (fingers crossed) all goes well.

the heads up to take whatever steps need to be taken. Fingers crossed it'll be no worse than that, but I'm sure DH is very worried and emotional. Hope you can both find the strength you need, and your FIL too.

for everyone, but how fortunate that your FIL seems to be getting good care and has such a concerned, loving family. I'm sure it'll do you all some good to go and see what's what. You'll get much better information about everything in person.

Wishing you a safe journey there and back, and a quick and speedy recovery for your FIL.

FIL doing better

Submitted by Becky on Tue, 02/08/2005 - 8:27pm.

Hi! Thanks so much for the well-wishes. It means a lot. FIL is doing much better now and came home today. We stayed over an extra day because FIL usually lives with his mother and helps take care of her, so we didn't want her to be by herself for too long. Grandma is healthy, but not terribly strong, and would have been lonely. Now that FIL is home, his sister, DH's aunt, is going to be staying with them to help with him and their mother both.
