Jam-How long will it last? Comment on this item

I found a couple of tiny jars of jam in my pantry that have been there for ????? At least 5, maybe as many as 7 years. They have never been opened. I cannot see any expiry date on the jars. I opened one last night and the seal popped nicely. I had a teensy taste and it tasted ok. Is it still good? I'm afraid to eat it, but I want to. You might check dates on storYou might check dates on store jams to see how long the expiration dates are dated ahead.. .just for an idea. I'd think they would last a long time if the seal was good. I know we ate some of my mom's jelly several years after she passed away, but it was the freezer kind. Personally, I'd probably pitch it just to be on the safe side, but it very well may still be fine. Post new comment |
