Star Struck: Elizabeth Edwards: A Challenge!

Submitted by lgunnoe on Wed, 11/10/2004 - 6:05am.

I saw "Elizabeth Edwards" in the "Who's New" section and thought, "Wonder if it's really.....naw....can't be...."

Then I read Mrs. Edwards' lovely reply to Lynn's blog about the chemo caps...

Welcome to TNH, Mrs. Edwards. This community has been a wonderful support of friendship and community for us all. My prayers are with you for health and healing; for strength and courage; and for peace and love to surround you and all those who love and care for you.

Now, a confession (already noted a while back on "New You,"): I haven't been to the doctor in almost 4 years. I'm making the appointment today.

What are YOU putting off concerning your health, my TNH friends? I challenge us all to make those appointments today! Do you need a physical? A pap teat? A mamogram? Done your monthly breast self-exam lately? Do you know your "heart-health?" If you're up-to-date on those tests, have you seen the dentist lately? Do you need to join a gym/exercise class? Need to see a nutritionist? Need to join a smoking cessation group?

I'm sure many of you are really good about doing all these things....if you're not....

I can't knit; I can pick up the phone, make an appointment, and have that check-up!

I think I'll start a thread where we can report what we're doing to be more proactive about our health.

Who's in?

Blessings!

Having just come out of Hysterectomy surgery, ecstatic that the cancer is caught and I can live the rest of my life without the fear of those severe precancerous cells invading my body.
PLEASE go to your doctor for the Pap, 36 or older...mamogram. It is quick, and for most,semi-painless. Laughing out loud But takes only minutes.
If you hate going to the doctor, find one you like. After years of feeling stupid for menstrual pains, I found a doctor who listened and I Praise God I did! I have 4 children who need a healthy momma. Anything you can do, to keep yourself healthy.
We can nag/encourage to declutter our closets, these are areas that need attention now!
You start that thread, and I'll lurk and encourage and crack the whip. Laughing out loud
