Removing coffee odour

Honey's picture

I have storage cans for tea, coffee and sugar. On April Fools Day last year, my DS (bless him! Grrr) decided it would be a nice joke to swap the contents around. Of course I discovered it a few hours late and sorted it out. BUT, even though the coffee was only in the sugar tin for a short while, and the tin was washed at the time and has been washed numerous times since, I cannot get the coffee smell out of it. Weird, huh?

Any ideas?

baking soda, maybe?

Have you tried scrubbing it out with a baking soda paste?

Or you could just give up and store coffee in it. Smiling

baking soda

No, haven't tried that, would that be okay to try on metal, d'you think?

I don't want to store coffee in it as it says 'sugar' on the side! Besides, the 'coffee' one has coffee in it, too!
