Sleeping Problems
Hi TNHers!
Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas/Hanukkah/New Year? And welcome back to Shaun, Courtney and Kitty and anyone else I missed jumping back in whilst I've been in Bonny Scotland.
I wonder if any of you have any good ideas to help with a problem I'm having with sleeping. I'm five and a half months pregnant now, and DEFINITELY looking and feeling it (no first-time pregancy non-existent bump for me!). By the end of the night I get really sore hips from sleeping on my side. I also get a sore pelvis. I'm sleeping with a pillow between my legs, which helps a bit, but if anyone has any other ideas I'd be really grateful.
Thanks!
Zillah

This last pregnancy, I slept
This last pregnancy, I slept with a pillow between my knees, one wedged behind my back, and one wedged in front of me while I hugged it. The back one seemed to help the most--I dunno about you, but I do the worse swayback thing when I'm sleeping pregnant or nursing in bed. That way I could actually roll a little bit on my back but still be on my side if that makes sense.
It was the only way I was comfortable after about 3 mos. I am told your joints relax earlier with each pregnancy, so I bet that's why you're having such a rough time!

Did I miss this?
Zillah, I don't think I knew you were preggers! Congrats!
Yes, I used at least 5 pillows too just to get some kind of comfort. Do you use anything under your belly? That allows you to roll forward just a little bit. Maybe it is too soon for that.
(I am not convinced you are that huge. I love the photo of me 6 mos pg. the first time, beaming in my leggings and tucked-in T shirt, thinking I am showing off how gigantic I am. Now I look and think, I wouldn't know that I was pregnant at all!)
Sorry, I wish I had other ideas for you. I surely remember the sore hips, and mainly I remember that they sucked and didn't get much better. I wonder if some kind of hip stretching and yoga before bed would help? Try the cobblers pose, and sitting with your feet wide apart -- they'll be good for you even if they don't help your hips.
