Down a Size

Submitted by Lynn on Thu, 02/05/2004 - 2:33pm.

For the first time in a year or more I am back in my size 22 jeans that I bought just after Louisa was born. (I lost a TON of weight when I was pg with her.) Sure, I've squeezed into them lately, but only if lying down. And I'm on my period, when I swell a bit, even. So I'm thrilled!

I guess your approach to diet is paying off. Smiling

I haven't budged a pound since Emma was born; in fact, I think I've gained!

My Method

Lower carbs, better carbs, carbs shifted to night, higher protein, fermented foods, good fats, trying to get more activity into daily life (as opposed to "exercising). And when I eat carbs I make sure I get good fat and/or protein with it.

And now off to finish cooking fettucine with shrimp, broccoli and cream...

Me Too, It's almost kinda weird...

I'm down 28 pounds since September.

I don't eat sugar or white flour, rice or potatoes. I do eat whole carbohydrates: beans, lentils, barley, oats, brown rice, sweet potatoes, whole wheat bread in moderation, and tons of fruits and veggies.

I have been exercising too, but not much more than I used to. I've always been active and fit, just fat too. Really. I walked 26.2 miles when I weighed 210 lbs. just for the fun of it.

I also have no headaches, or heartburn, sleep better and have more energy. I have found that I no longer think about food all the time either.

I've been fighting this battle for 18 years, but this is the first time I think I'm actually winning...

I eat as much as I want, pay no mind to calories, and have no desire for the sugar now, as the few times I have eaten it since Sept. the effects on my body make it not worth the pain.

I really think it's all about the "better" as Lynn said. Better carbs, healthier, whole foods.
