Part of my New Year's Resolution is to prioritize certain areas in my life. One of those areas is travel. I am in the process of making a vacation list of places I want to visit (or return visit) before I am old and gray.
I'd like to visit Great Britain, esp. Scotland. And I'd like to visit Israel and Egypt. But I'd be happy to travel in my own hemisphere, Canada, Mexico, South America...
the very best part of ANY holiday, whether fantastic or the pits, is coming home. You ALWAYS appreciate home more when you've been away. Nothing else could make me appreciate Singapore so fast as being away from home for a while, whether I'm visiting my parents for a month, or travelling with in-laws for a week.
My choice destinations?? New Zealand, Tasmania, Melbourne. Return trips to Venice and Prague. Boston and almost any part of New England, San Francisco. I did once have Israel on that list, but I can't ever see it being comfortable enough for my squeamishness in my lifetime. The Republic of Ireland... That one's getting more realistic now than it used to be, although it's physically further away! Cairo, Istanbul...

When you've had enough is anybody's guess
if you get on a plane, say for New Orleans

cause I'll be undercover with the girl of my dreams
I'm gonna be right here
I'm a homebody too, but I am eager to get back to London all the same! After that, the rest of the UK. The less touristed parts of Hawaii sound lovely. And truth be told, I really wanna go back to Disneyworld!! After that, it all sounds interesting, but nothing is really calling me right now.
Truth be told, part II: I love to travel but I am not a good traveler. I need to go slow, stay for a long time in each spot, and have impeccable plumbing!
I don't know that song, but I've always liked him. My girls like "Oh Daddy" a lot, and some of his work with King Crimson runs through my head all the time, especially Matte Kudesai, or however you spell that.

I am such a homebody. Really what I want to do more than anything is find that place in the world where I belong and STAY THERE.
