kids and money
Hello everyone:
I am a high school teacher, and my students desperately need your help. You can help by answering these 2 questions:
1- What do you wish your parents had taught you about money?
2- Share some stories/ real life experiences where you learned money lessons the hard way.
My students and I thank you all in advance. These answers are truly going to help these kids become financially literate!

More info, Please...
I would be more comfortable replying if I could verify anything about your request:
School Name & phone? School e-mail for replies?
Course name/content?
...and why are you asking "strangers?"...Have you asked the kids to interview the grown-ups in their own lives for this information? It seems that would be more impactful for them.
Just asking!

reply kids and money
question one. how to spend it wisly.
question 2. first thing you need to know. look at is how much money you have coming in. so you can pre pair a budget. hardly anything is ever free. keep that in mind. bills add up fast. along with late fees that could save you $1,200.00 a year or more. now another thing to look at is do i really need this item i'm about to buy or do i just really want it. if you end up buying everything you want. you might end up not being able to afford what you really need. a apartment or car. even to eat sometimes. also we have all had times when friends ask for money. make it clear unless it's a gift. you want to get the money back. 5 bucks is a lot different then a grand. so keep in mind to always make good spending choices that wont hurt you. they way things are going right now. if you have a job keep it. it will also help build up your resume and show other company's that your not just going to quite after you get a paycheck. plus with your responsibilities your bills arn't going to say ok don't pay us. that's not going to happen. also know who your real friends are. i have three categories i use to call my friends fall under. it's important to know. like when i help out my real friends when they are in need of money i know the deed will never go unpaid in one way or another. i have a friend that owes me six grand. i never ask for any of the money back. why. when my car breaks down he is always there to fix it for me. i just have to buy the parts. there for i never worry about asking for any money back even when i'm going through a hard time. the key to always having money so you can go out and have a good time plus get everything you want. is smart spending. something that just came out costs 500 bucks. wait a month and hay look it's now only 400 bucks. waiting a month for something you want can save you money not only then but also in the long run. so you can afford more stuff. like food and paying bills. watch out for scams. make sure everything is legit before committing to anything. for example. on line collage. even though you think it will further your future. just how well respected and accepted the most important part is that on line collage. if you look into credited on line schools. you will find most are just a joke and are not accepted as a credited collage. so your degree from there really just wasted your money. you want a school to be recognized. one good way of doing so is seeing if your state board of education recognizes them as a credited collage. another way. see if you can transfer credits. are you even getting credits. just because its a online called collage. doesn't mean your not getting ripped off. i recommend a online university. you see the word university. yeah that is recognized by the board of education. so you know your not getting ripped off. plus more company's will also recognize them as well. credits cards. oh gees. people please if your not getting a intrest rate 10% or lower. you don't want nore need it. credit cards are designed so when you miss a payment the make big bucks off you just like loans. a credit card is nice to have for emergency's or something you can afford plus have the money just not with you at the time. but get reckless and it could take years to pay off. building your credit is important and will help you through out your life. make a bad move and it can set you back 7 years or more. easy way to build your credit. get a small loan. most are 5 thousand at the least. go in the bank and just tell them you want a personal loan. if you need to put something up to get do it. here's the trick. you don't need the loan at this time. in fact for your first loan you should have 5 thousand bucks put away. how to really make it work. don't spend any of that loan money you got. take the loan money and use that to make the monthly payments back to the bank on. use your saved money to add the intrest on the loan every month to your loan bank payment. tip. also pay the loan off a little faster before the final due date. make double payments every month back on your loan. banks really hate but want tell you that. in time you will get bigger loans and the bank will be more willing to help you out when you need it. i have learned all this the hard way on my own. because my family just screws everybody else over. don't become greedy and remember to be nice to people. or you might just end up all lonely with nothing. greed to money is what turns us into monsters. don't let that happen too you. because most of my family i choose not to speak to anymore. people wake up. get away from all the negitive stuff in your life. don't always be nagitive. you don't want to be know as a jerk. so be nice and don't forget the world does not revolve around you. just because my grand mother has loads of money i choose not to be part of her life plus i want nothing when she dies. i'm just gonna give a nice speach for her at her funeral. now how to you want to be remembered by people. make a difference and do something good for others. remember these days shape how you will grow up for the rest of your life. it's up too you make your own choices so you will have lots of real friends and lead a great life you can be proud of. and remember by sharing your kindness a part of you lives on forever through friends and family. sharing story's about you and carrying on the good you have done for others. the key to having a good life is the key to leading a good life. i wish you all well on your journey through life.
Thanks for the tip!
Thanks for the tip, Igunnoe. You certainly don't have to reply if you don't feel "comfortable." I don't feel comfortable giving "stangers" my personal information over the internet.
Most folks have helped so far because they care about students learning about money. This is an important subject that adults need to take time to train the next generation about.
Anyone who doesn't mind helping, my students would love to hear from you. Thanks!

I wish my parent's had taught me how to find good deals and budget. I know how to save and spend well!
