Jackie, babies like the breast from Mommy but they'll sometimes take the bottle from someone else (if Mommy is out of the room). It sounds like you're doing well!
DH had a doc appointment today and I had to come with him because I had some admin-type business at the doc office, so now DH is in class (no time to go home) and I am hanging out on campus. I could be studying but I don't feel like it.
I don't know what is wrong with me today, but I am just not very motivated. DD got a late nap yesterday and so didn't want to go to bed last night. Then, she was cranky and sleepy when it was time to get up this a.m. Mondays are always difficult for me, just because I've had a more leisurely two days and then I have to jump back into a routine. I have been striving to get laundry, etc. done on Thursdays & Fridays so I don't have to spend the weekend doing housework. It works pretty well except that without a real routine, Mondays are hard. My weekends aren't totally hodgepodge, but I do allow a lot of flexibility.
Well, DD is napping now; I plan to wake her if she's not up by 2:30, so I only have another 25 minutes. DH is outside mowing the lawn & wants me to hurry up and go to the grocery so I can get doggie food. But, I can't do that until he comes in to listen/watch DD. Catch-22!
Today's TADAs so far:
* Got DD to preschool on time despite both of us being draggy
* Worked at office 8:45-11:45
* Cleaned glass surfaces in living/foyer
* Dusted living/foyer and my desk and computers
* Made a grocery list
* Washing and load of light clothes
PODA for rest of today:
* Go to grocery store - ugh!
* Load items I want to take to store at my Mom's on Wednesday
* Sweep and vacuum floors (hopefully DH will take DD outside to swim so I can do this one)
* Make my to do list for tomorrow
* After DD goes to bed tonight: straighten my two deep drawers in my dresser and clean out the dressing table next to my bed. If there's time, organize my jewelry box
So, it's not really impressive over here, gals! Hope you all are doing much better than me!!
Well, the termite thing wasn't bad. They drilled around the outside of the house (very noisy!) and that was it. He didn't find any termites except in the wooden posts we knew about. I'm going to have them do my mom's house, since her guarantee expired. It didn't cost near what Mom had said she paid a major name brand chain a few years ago, and no $200/year guarantee, either.\
Jackie, you gush about that baby all you want. It's your right -- nay, your DUTY as a mommy!
I have a large list of things I need to get done and very little motivation.

I think maybe part of my problem is that I just got myself back to a reasonable sleep schedule. I am a night owl by nature, and was really letting nature take over, sleeping from 1am-9am. The past 2 mornings I've been up before 7, which really is better for me, but I am dragging. The other reason is the humidity. Blah.
Went to bed early last night (9 p.m.). I slept so soundly, I didn't even hear the phone ring at 11 p.m. when DH called on his dinner break. Woke up on my own at 5:30 this morning and I actually feel rested. Maybe I'm getting back on track. I sure do need to!
Last evening's TADAs:
* Went to grocery store
* Made dinner (Italian chicken, salad and French bread)
* Got DD in bed by 8:20, though she didn't fall asleep that early
* Picked out clothes for today for DD and myself
* Pre-made part of DD's lunchbox for today
* Dusted and swept remainder of house
Today's PODA:
* Get DD to preschool by 8:45
* Work at office 9-12
* Update checkbook
* Laundry
* Clean bathroom
* Make brownies
* Leave ebay feedback
I hope everyone has a great day. Things seem slow here in comparison to a month ago. Is everyone just tied up with summer busyness? I miss the activity here; it motivates me to do more and to post more as well. I am still trying to limit myself to twice a day, but lately I haven't even been posting that often.
Vonnie-yes i have noticed the slowdown as well but I attribute it to having kids home for summer break,others moving or in the process of moving. You appear to keep things moving ahead,good going.

Glad to have such good neighbors to watch my kids so I can go to this meeting. I watch their son here and there so I guess it works out well.
My hollyhocks opened and they are baby pink. There are some that haven't opened yet so I don't know if they will be the fuschia or yellow ones.
Andrea- how is vacation going? Did things work out with the personality thing?
Jackie-good to "see" you too! Sounds like Alexa is doing well. I agree with Becky,babies who nurse usually take bottles from someone other than their mommies. I guess they smell you and don't want the bottle. Mine did the same thing.
Hey, how 'bout you? (Any other Raffi fans out there?)
I woke up late after a very restless night (DD in bed w/us, 2 sets of extremely powerful thunderstorms...) and found myself all full of p & v. So I will take advantage and get this house in order!

I actually can be here two days in a row. Alexa didnt sleep too well last night, she had a bellyache at 930 was up till 11 and then was pretty restless all night so now she is knocked out this am. She did really well with the bottle this am though. We have tried everything from spraying my perfume on my mom, to all different bottles, DH feeding her not in our rocking chair, in the rocking chair, walking around. She is getting better but still only wants my boobie. She is such a mush. Definitely one thing I wasnt prepared for, this little girl is so attached to me already. Her eyes just melt me when I am trying to give her the bottle, she looks like "why are you shoving this thing in my mouth?". But she is slowly learning. My Mom actually babysat her on Sun pm and she took almost 3oz but was a battle. We will see how she does today.
Hope everyone is having a great day. It is so hot and humid here. Going to my parents hopefully for a swim if Alexa takes a good afternoon nap.

ok, why does it feel so overwhelming and look so pathetic??????
Have a great day Love Jackie
Hello, Flyfriends! I've been pretty busy lately. DS5 (6 on Saturday) got kind of sick, so we've been spending my "spare time" at the doctor's office. He's better now, energetic as always!
I've also been getting geared up for Holiday Grand Plan this year. You can find info at www.OrganizedChristmas.com. I've tried this two years before, didn't do much, but getting better every year. I need a real boost for morale this year, and it's kind of fun thinking about Christmas things now. I heard there was a new Gooseberry book out, and I'd like to go check it out. I also just bought a new sewing machine from HSN.com's sale section. I've been looking at sewing machines for a year now, and this is a good one. Was $500, I got it for $200. That was my budget limit, so I'm thrilled to have gotten such a deal. I bought a few yards of good wool fabric at Goodwill and am thinking about making some mittens with it for gifts.
Ooh! Ooh! I did get the Flylady calendar. A bit pricey, but I really like it. I read somewhere that someone puts their menu on little sticky notes on each day of the calendar. That sounds kind of neat. I guess if something happens one day, it would be easy to "rearrange" the meal schedule to accomodate. I've also started the Control Journal FlyBaby steps, again. Just one tiny little thing at a time, plugging away at it.
Jackie, It's really cool to hear about Alexa. I don't know you too well, but I love hearing about babies. They are challenging, but well worth it.
Jo, mmmmm.... dinner sounds so good!
Heidi and Vonnie, normal Summer slowdown stuff. Hopefully we're all out having fun? Or being driven crazy by kids at home? Take your pick in our house.
Heidi, good neighbors to watch kids are a blessing. I wish we had more. I LOVE hollyhocks and bet yours are just beautiful.
Andrea, have a good trip!
Ugh, I just paid some bills. This month I have to pay for two new insurance policies for my son's cochlear implant processors. Never enough money to do what I'd REALLY like to do. I hate paying bills. They always get me down. So now I will watch some TV, while picking up the kitchen. Whee! Don't I just have crazy fun? (Sarcasm....)
Karin-the hollyhocks are doubles so each flower is really like 2,I like them too,gives height to the garden.
My meeting was cancelled so the kids are home with me. DS9 mowed the front yard and I did the back,he did really well.
Curry chicken and rice for dinner turned out pretty good. I love spicy foods.
Ds and DH are going to a Baseball game tomorrow night so DD and I will probably go to the playground. It will be in the 90's tomorrow so don't want to do any outside stuff during the afternoon hours.
Ds will be going to Disney with his aunt and uncle on the 30th-the 7th. He has been with us before but it has been almost 4 years so he probably doesn't really remember too much of it. He is really excited. I will miss him that week something fierce. We get their 3 month old daughter in exchange!! Lots of coffee and no big plans are in store that week for sure!!!
I don't have to put in any time at the office & DD goes to preschool 8:45 to 12:15! Woohoo! Hopefully, I'm going to swap out some stuff in my kitchen so I can take down the kiddie gate. I am tired, tired, tired of climbing over that thing. And if DD REALLY wants in the kitchen, she knows how to pop the arm up and take it down anyway! I just need to move snack stuff up high and put canned goods down low (removal of temptation!).
Today's TADAs:
* Worked at office (accomplished a little)
* Laundry - wash, dry & put away
* Pressed all of my blouses and pants that needed it (I love to be able to pick whatever from my closet & not have to iron it to wear it)
* Unloaded dishwasher
* Making brownies now
* Swam in pool a little while with DD
* Sorted some of our photos so I can scrapbook them
* Ordered photos from Ofoto using $9.90 in credits I have
* Organized sweater drawer and drawer w/t-shirts & shorts
Still to go:
* Finish brownies
* Run to grocery store to get some milk (oops! got DD's milk & forgot mine yesterday!)
* Get DD in bed by 8:30 so I can scrapbook until 11 or 11:30 (no work tomorrow, so I can take a nap if I need to)
* After DD goes to bed, put some adoption docs in fireproof safe that I thought were already in there!
We ate early with DH before he went to work, so we'll probably have a brownie and some milk for a snack before bathtime.
I emailed Julie the other day & she is having some health problems. That's why she's been scarce posting here as of late. She is having problems with exhaustion and pain in her limbs, probably from something to do with her heart. They are running tests. I'm going to email her in a minute and see how she is feeling now.
Well, I'd better run. I want to go to the grocery as soon as the brownies come out of the oven. Yummm, they smell so good!
Karin, I read the testimonial about the menus on post-it notes, too. I plan to get a small pad of them and use them on my calendar I already have for this year (it has large spaces as well). I hate to mess up a calendar by scratching out menus & such, so this is a great solution for me.
Just checking in, it's been a while. I lurk some, just don't have much to post lately. Still pregnant.... a little over 2 weeks to go. There taking her by C-section on August 6. She's another big one (due to the gestational diabetes) DS6 was 11lbs. 12oz. There thinking she's gona be about 10lbs, we'll see. I'm already measuring full term, so I'm about as big as a Damn house.
It's good to see you Jackie, and so great to hear all about Alexa. You sound so happy and I love the idea of using your train.
I miss all of you and can't wait to get back to a somewhat NORMAL size so I can get busy and so something around here.
No TADA's to post, but I'm slowly but surely getting the nursery done, I'll tada that when I'm done.
Jamie Lea, I am so excited for you! Especially that it is almost over. I remember that feeling. My three stages of pregnancy: 1. Gee, I can't see the cup, hope I'm getting the "sample" in it. 2. Darn, can't reach down there anymore to get a "sample". What am I going to do? 3. Are you kidding me? I broke the toilet? No joke, right before I delivered DS19 months (10 lb. 5.4 oz.), I sat on the toilet in the office and it fell over. I almost died from embarassment, bawled my eyes out, didn't have a "sample" for them. They told me it was broken the day before, should have had me in the other toilet, where was the sign? ARGH!
I hope Julie is doing well. Maybe I'll get an e-mail to her, if I stil have her addy.
Vonnie, I am so happy to have our milk delivered here. It's about $3 a gallon delivered, but hormone and antibiotic free. I HATE shopping for milk with the boys. They go through about five gallons a week, no joke. But as far as ironing, that's it. You've given me the motivation to get the boys in bed and get to my laundry. I LOVE ironing when it's quiet, me watching TV in peace.
It's a slightly foggy morn here in the great state of Alabama. I've been up since 5:30, though you'd not know that by looking at what I have done (not much). DD came and got in my bed at 3 a.m., so I am not dressed yet because I don't want to wake her until 7:30. I didn't sleep much between 3 and 5:30 because I didn't want my alarm to wake her. But, I fell asleep soon after 5:15 and it went off anyway!! Oh, well. She didn't stir anyway.
Today's TADAs so far:
* Folded/hung laundry that I washed/dried last night
* Made today's to do list so I can get a lot done while she's at school
* Made DD's bed and got her room back in order
Then, there's today's PODA:
* Get DD to preschool by 8:45
* Put adoption docs in fireproof safe
* Swap out kitchen cabinets
* Update checkbook
* Clean bathroom
* Work on organizing photos and scrapbooking
* Look for book church will be using in Bible study
Did I tell you that I chopped my hair off? Well, it was only about 2 inches, but it put it back above my shoulders. In some ways, it doesn't feel short because it is one length except for some light layers. I really like it more and more every day. My Mom LOVED it; she wanted to know why I didn't go shorter (she hated my hair long). My MIL HATED it; she asked me if I shrunk my hair in the wash (she, on the other hand, loved my hair long). I have come to the conclusion that my hair is just that -- MINE. I will wear it how I LIKE it and how it's easiest for me. (Side note: MIL doesn't believe in doing things the easiest or most comfortable way. She thinks I should have long hair that I wash and set and sit under a dryer to dry, wear only dresses with PANTYHOSE even in the summer, and cook using on conventional methods -- no crockpots, pressure cookers, etc.)
Hopefully, we'll sell a puppy today. DH is supposed to call a prospect who wants a male. I wish we could get them all sold this week. I don't know why we've still got them; normally, they are sold before they are even 6 weeks old. I think maybe we'll skip the next two breeding periods until the market picks back up.
Well, I need to get moving. Maybe I can get dressed and not wake DD. We'll see!
I'm so angry! I tried posting yesterday and I got a message that I had exceeded posting something or another. Lost my message. Back to the notepad.
Vonnie, cool on the hair. I'm more of a pantsuit type of gal. I feel clunky in dresses, especially when chasing the boys.
Becky, yup, that's what I pay for delivered milk. Way cool. It is cheaper at Costco, but that means dragging the boys all the way there, and usually spending more money than I should. It's not technically "organic" because they haven't gone through the state procedure for the label. But they are a well established farm, always hormone and antibiotic free. They claim to not use pesticides on their grass, but I don't know about their feed.
Hey! What do you know, my post from last night showed up. Yeah!
Okay, garbage and recycling out, plants watered, e-mail caught up, now I need to get back to the kitchen. I folded most of the laundry last night, but still need to iron.
Thanks for all the encouragement from everyone. Especially since yesterday was one of our hardest days. This Mommy thing is such a rollercoaster ride. One day I feel like I get it the next day she cries for 5 hours and I have no idea ehat to do. She had another bellyache form about 2-10pm last night, she cried and cried on and off. I felt so bad. But she seems better today. So thanks, you guys made me feel much better. And she found out how to kick the fish on her bouncy seat and was cracking up this am. It was so sweet.
Jamie Lea, great to "see" you. You sound great, and I am so excited for you. Not much longer to go. How is your youngest Ds doing? Im sure he is excited.
Karin, I hope your Ds is feeling better soon.
well gotta be quick, Alexa has been asleep since 930am and is almost 12pm. She should be waking up any minute starving She probably is still tired from crying yesterday, poor girl.

At least not as long as DD is refusing to take her nap. She was doing everything possible not to fall asleep. So, I have given up and I have put her on the sofa watching Dora. She cannot talk, make noise or get up. It's already 2p.m., so I don't think I even want her to fall asleep now. It will just make bedtime rough.
At least I had 3 1/2 hours while she was at preschool. And boy, did I work my bo-hunkus off!
Today's TADAs:
* Got DD to preschool on time
* Did load of laundry
* Unloaded dishwasher and reloaded
* Switched out all snack/lunch items under bar and put them in high cabinets while moving canned goods to under bar. This is so I can [finally] take down the kiddie gate into the kitchen. We'll see how this goes!
* Got a newspaper and marked sale items I'm interested in
* Made a menu plan for next week; I intend to cook at home for seven nights; eating out is getting ridiculous!
Well, I need to run. DH needs to be getting up. Maybe he'll take DD for a ride in the bike buggy and wear her out!
Maybe that's why I was motivated yesterday, it was much cooler and less humid until late afternoon. Anyway, I got a lot done.

well today I truly felt like a taxi! Took Ds to tutor then went to bank and Pier I while he was at tutor,picked him up and went home. Around 4pm dropped papers off for DH,took DS to book buddies at library,then took him to meet DH so they can go together to the Indians game. Whew....home at last,DD is eating and moping. Think she needs a bath and early bed. Come to think of it,that wouldn't be so bad for me either.

Hot you say? Ha! It is scorching here...I'm melting,melting
Not that I didn't work my bohunkus off yesterday, that is! Today, I put in my 3 1/2 hours at my office. My Mom picks up DD on Thursdays, but today she won't be able to keep her as long as usual. So, I'll have to get done what I want to do and do it quickly.
DD didn't get her nap yesterday (she's 4.5, so I suspect we are probably getting to the end of naps! boohoo!), so I put her in bed at 7:20 p.m. She whimpered for about 5 minutes and when I snuck in to check her at 7:35, she was sound asleep! She slept until 6:45 this morning. Poor baby was tired out. Did I tell you guys that she is finally night potty trained? At least for 3 weeks now. I am glad; pullups are expensive!
Today's PODA:
* Make DD's sack lunch for school
* Get DD to preschool by 8:45
* Work at office 9-12:30
* Take bad check to worthless check unit at DA's office
* Press clothes I washed yesterday that need it (about 3 pieces)
* Check status of Ofoto order
* Make grocery list from my menu plan for next week
I am determined to start cooking Sunday lunch so we don't go out to eat so much. I am so SICK of eating out, plus it gets expensive. And, if we eat at home it's much easier to get DD to go down for a nap on Sunday afternoon.
I started a Job Chart for DD yesterday. Found it at Michael's. It is really basic: make bed, take bath, brush hair, get dressed, positive attitude. She got all but attitude star yesterday. Missing her nap didn't help her attitude at all!
We sold a puppy yesterday! Woohoo! We reduced them to $200, so maybe they will sell now. We sure could use the money to fund the "one year home" party for DD that we plan for August. Still don't have a definite date yet. But, we've got to get one by this weekend. It's already too late to do it the first weekend of August, so we'll see.
I guess I had better run. I need to make DD's lunch and finish my to do list for work. Cya later!!!
dw loaded and unloaded
morning routine
fed neighbor's cat
sorted mail
brought in trash cans
couple calls
printed out form for DH
trimmed DD nails and bangs(i'm really reaching here!)
dropped DS off at Aunt's for overnight

Wonder how long and intricate our TADAs would be if we wrote down every blessed thing we do from sun up to sun down...pages worth I am sure.
Susannah-are you there? or I think you went to South Carolina this week?
Not a particularly stellar day for me today. I have managed to keep the house pretty well straight this week, so there hasn't been much besides laundry and an occasional sweep of the broom here. DD has talked non-stop ever since my Mom brought her home -- and I mean NON-STOP. I have heard "Mama" about 200 times; I am not kidding! I know that I waited for years for someone to call me that, but my Lord, I am growing weary of it tonight! My saving grace is that she's in the tub (talking to me non-stop and when I don't respond, yelling "Mama"!) and she's about to go to bed. Sweet silence, I am ready!!!
Today's TADAs:
* Worked 9 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
* Picked up puppy shot record at vet for puppy purchaser
* Made grocery list based on menu and what I don't have on-hand
* Laundry
* Let DD swim in pool while I got eat up by mosquitos
Once I get DD settled into bed, I plan to enjoy a cup of decaf coffee and watch mindless television. Two things I don't often get to partake in!
That's not good. Is that equivalent to talking to myself? Probably so.
I have been up since 4:50 a.m. Got up without the alarm clock (good thing since I forgot to set it!). Anyway, I thought I'd get completely ready, do some laundry and have my quiet time before DD's normal wake time of 6:45. Wrong! She came ambling into the room at 5:10 a.m.! I cannot catch a break some days! And, it looks like today is going to be a big talking day just like yesterday! It has already started. I wish I could hit auto-pilot with answers so I don't have to really think about what she's saying. I sound like such a bad mother! I really try to be attentive to her most of the time. But, Lord, when exactly am I suppose to get housework done and have time to myself? I'm not talking hours here; I'd be happy to have 30 minutes of time to myself.
Enough whining!!!
Today's PODA:
* Make DD's lunch
* Get DD to preschool on time
* Work at office 9 - 12
* Print out some of the control journal stuff from flylady.net; I want to get mine done once & for all
* Deposit my paycheck & DH's attendance check at credit union
* Laundry
* Sweep floors
* Go to grocery store (assuming DD gets a good nap)
* Go eat dinner with DH at his work tonight
I want to get all of the laundry caught up [surprise! surprise!] for the weekend so I don't have much housework to do. I need to go through some bags of shoes and clothes passed to DD by a cousin. There are a ton of shoes that are her next size in it for the fall/winter. I shouldn't have to buy her any shoes this fall! Woohoo! Also, I want to get my control journal assembled.
The heat wave is kicking me in the tail, big time. I'm picking up now, have to watch a friend's son today, too. Might not get much done because I will have to keep a very close eye on the boys.
I'm with you Vonnie, on finally finishing the Control Journal. I like the baby steps FlyLady has posted on her site for making a CJ. I can't tell you how many times I've started making my CJ and have just never finished. I don't like the binder I have, don't like the pages in pencil, but when it's finally done, I can tweak it and make it more "mine".
Okay, I need to get moving. I really miss coffee in the mornings. My body feels much better, since dropping coffee and changing other things. I just miss it. Maybe I'll try decaf?
Karin- I,too, am watching someone's child this morning for a few hours while she attends a rummage sale nearby. They are playing really nicely for a 2 year old and my 3 year old,so far!
PODA
1 load of laundry
babysit
Wal mart later on
buy MIL gift cert for her bday Saturday/cards
general pick up around house
dinner
Welcome to motherhood, Vonnie! I, too, had a talker!
PODA:
* Wait for charity folks to call to pick up furniture at Mom's house.
* I really should go over to Mom's house and begin cleaning, but I don't want to. The furniture we are going to move over here is still in the way.
The estimate on replacement of the electrical system on the house is $3200. We are selling the house as a fixup, so I believe the buyers should pay for this one. So they may decide to not buy the house after all. I'd like to have it all over with, but I'm kinda hoping the sale falls through. I don't know why.
The family was stranded on vacation with car trouble for a couple days, but they should be on the way home now. Then they can help move furniture over here and I can clean an empty house.
I am SO happy to hear how well your DD is talking, Vonnie. It seems like yesterday that you were worried she would never get English down pat. Even if it's annoying sometimes, it's still a good sign. Maybe you could put her in preschool for longer hours sometimes to get more time to yourself?
PODA:
-take meds (I'm late on them this a.m.)
-shower and get dressed (again- late on that this a.m.)
-take out trash
-do some laundry
-study
-vacuum
-mop
And another thing to do: I saw a new family moving into the apartment downstairs, so I had better make some brownies or something and introduce myself.
before DD and I head out to eat with DH at his work. I am about to put her in the bathtub, wash hair & then I need to trim her bangs. She's beginning to look like a sheepdog!
Today's TADAs (and this will most likely be all for today):
* Took DD to preschool (on time - woohoo!)
* Worked at office 9 a.m. - 12 noon
* Deposited my check & DH's attendance check at bank
* Printed out great info from flylady.net site for my control journal
* Laundry
* Made bread in bread machine (sun dried tomato & basil -- mmmmm)
* Went to grocery store -- big one!! Now I only need to run to meat store tomorrow for two cuts of meat
* Started puppy ad back in newspaper
Well, that's about it folks! I plan to come home after eating with DH, put DD to bed and then sit back and enjoy a nice hot cup of decaf. I may make some muffins tomorrow; that would be good with coffee!
PODA

Vonnie-did you get that coffee break?
DH cooked up a delicious dinner last night:eggplant parmigiana,fried apple slices,green beans. He loves to cook and is a very good cook but just doesn't get to do it that often because he is always working. Nice break for me too.
And it was nice. Stayed up waay too late, watching "What Not To Wear". Of course, DD went to bed 3 hours before me, so she was up & ready to go at 5:15! Ugh! Thankfully, DH was still up (he got off at 2:30 a.m.), so he entertained her until I got up at 6:45.
Talked to my Mom who is going to Pittsburg for 6 days tomorrow. I put her mail on hold for her online (she isn't online at their home yet). She is bringing me some peaches so I can make a peach cobbler. I was planning to get them at the produce stand, so that just saved me some money. I still want to go get some fresh pink-eye, purple hull peas, though. Love those things!!!
My TADAs:
* Pulled out Control Journal and worked some on it
* Organized my calendar (the one I carry with me)
* Laundry -- I've folded & put away two loads; one more in washer & one more in dryer now
* Made a list of errands to do this morning
My PODA:
* Go to office supply place for divider tabs (for control journal)
* Produce stand for peas
* Winn Dixie for ribs and turkey breast
* Make peach cobbler after Mom brings peaches by
* Let DD swim in her pool before lunch
* Sweep floors
* Clean bathroom; especially bathtub
* Finish up laundry - DH's uniforms; one load dark; one load towels
* Mail sympathy card to co-worker
* Slice sundried tomato & basil bread I made yesterday
* Freeze meats not being used until later in week
* Make notes on calendar of when to pull out meats to thaw for dinners
Really not much, though it takes up a lot of room!
Well, I am not dressed nor do I have makeup on, so I need to scat!
Heidi, that dinner sounds yummy. Too bad my DH won't eat eggplant.
Okay, so today I am changing my medication schedule, because now that I am drinking less caffeine, I find I get very tired right after I take my beta-blocker at mid-morning and then I lie around like a slug the rest of the day, so I am going to start taking it at night instead.
So, my PODA starts with yesterday's SLUG list:
-do the dishes!!! mortifying
-do laundry
-study
-vacuum
-mop
-make brownies
Then it continues for today:
-change sheets
-clean oven (overnight)
If this schedule change works out, maybe I will have a chance at a "proper" Shabbat next Friday/ Saturday.
Yesterday's TADA:
At Mom's
* Scrubbed outside of kitchen cabinets. I love that Scumbuster.
* Dusted walls with long-handled thing.
* Washed walls in hallway.
* Cleaned one bathroom thoroughly.
* Helped load things onto charity truck.
* After truck left, I could work where the furniture had been in the way.
At home:
* Four loads of laundry. I had to run to bring it all in when a dust storm came up!
* Swept, mopped floors.
* Enjoyed my last celebratory pint of Ben & Jerry's ice cream. The family comes home tonight, so my celebrating ends.
PODA for today:
* Take a day off and go see a matinee of The Music Man at the dinner theater with my nine-year-old date -- the son of my friend.
JUst poking my head in! We are in Montana now and the most stressful parts of the vacation are over with - the wedding and then being all together with my brother and his family. It went well, but I think everyone is breathing a sigh of relief now that it is just us. They have a 2-year-old are are VERY overprotective about her, her sleep, etc. They were putting her to bed at 6:00 and expecting her to sleep after napping for 4 hours during the day. So we had to have dinner ready at 4:30 pm (I was cooking) - couldn't go in the front door, had to whisper, etc. Very hard with my 5 and 7 year olds. Ah well, it was still fun!
You guys are really plugging away. I am looking forward to getting home and getting back into my routines - we'll be home on the 30th but I'm sure I will check in before then.
Morning to everyone. Lois, don't you hate those "panic" episodes? I have done that myself. Don't worry; I am sure you'll get it all done. Susannah, glad to "see" you back with us. Hope you get everything caught up!
I need to make this one quick so I can jump in the shower before DD wakes up.
Last evenings TADAs:
* Made dinner (meatloaf, mashed potatoes, fresh corn-on-the-cob, fresh purple hull peas, fresh fried okra, bread, and then fresh peach cobbler and vanilla ice cream for dessert)
* Cleaned up kitchen
* Worked on control journal
* Laundry
We have ample leftovers and I don't have much room in the fridge for any more leftovers, so we are going to eat last night's fare again today at lunch. It's nice to have a plan and not have to go out to eat because there's nothing at home.
Today's PODA:
* Sunday School (I teach this morning) and church
* Laundry
* Work on control journal while DD naps

Article in paper about how Sundays are no longer days of rest. People treat them as another day to run errands and shop,etc. It discussed how stores used to always be closed,even gas stations,public transportation,etc. Interesting...
Garage sale yesterday at friend's was successful,she made about $200,I only made about $20. DS sold off some beanie babies and will use his earnings for more stuff...oh joy!
But didn't make much headway. However, I do have a few ta da's:
*Thoroughly cleaned and mopped kitchen. Shifted a bunch of stacks to my desk and the sideboard to be dealt with later.
*Washed and dried car seat covers (blowout diapers, yuk), put seats back together, reinstalled in the van. It's HOT out there!
*Moved some laundry through the machines, but I have a lot of folding yet to do.
My Flylady sink strainer came while I was gone! It's so cute. It's like costume jewelry for the sink. I'm not usually a kitsch-y person, but I LOVE this little strainer with the hearts and the enameled Flylady in it. It works well, too; holds the water in the sink indefinitely. My More Time Moms calendar came, too. Excellent! Can't wait to start scheduling some dates in September.
We had fun in Charleston. We went to the aquarium (great!), the IMAX (okay), Folly Beach, and various restaurants. We swam in the hotel pool. The hotel was really inexpensive, too.
Emma is sooo fussy right now. I don't know how I'm going to get dinner put together. Time for a snack in the high chair, perhaps.
I'm back from another camping family reunion. This time it was my side of the family and it was fun. The campground was yucky though, very dirty, trash on the ground, unsafe playground, sharp shell and shale beach with dead fish in the water, smelly sulfur water for showering and washing dishes. And we were surrounded by other campers whose children has real swearing problems. I just hate hearing those words coming out of little children's mouths. Next year we will try a different campground.

DS and I both have birthdays the end of this week (I was in labor with him all 24 hours of my 23rd birthday) and then the rest of the summer is uneventful. Thank goodness. I have some big plans for painting, making new curtains, and re-organizing.
Sounds like quite the camping trip Jo! You have had a very busy summer! Hope you and DH have great birthdays!
HI Becky!
Susannah, I did not know Flylady sold a sink strainer. I will have to check it out.
DH and I just got back from the local health club - worked out with my Mom, which I desperately needed. Felt good. I'm hoping to get on a better exercise regimen when we get home. We hope to swim this pm in a nearby mountain lake. Tomorrow I'm not sure what we'll do - some sort of outing I'm sure. Then we leave on Wednesday am. It is nice to take a break from flying I must admit!

Slow Start to This Week
* Worked at office 8:45-11:45
* Cleaned glass surfaces in living/foyer
* Dusted living/foyer and my desk and computers
* Made a grocery list

But I Don't Wanna!

Blah.
OK, enough pity party, back to it!
Bye,

Trying to Get Back On Track
Went to bed early last night (9 p.m.). I slept so soundly, I didn't even hear the phone ring at 11 p.m. when DH called on his dinner break. Woke up on my own at 5:30 this morning and I actually feel rested. Maybe I'm getting back on track. I sure do need to!
Last evening's TADAs:
* Went to grocery store

* Work at office 9-12
* Update checkbook

I hope everyone has a great day. Things seem slow here in comparison to a month ago. Is everyone just tied up with summer busyness? I miss the activity here; it motivates me to do more and to post more as well. I am still trying to limit myself to twice a day, but lately I haven't even been posting that often.
Y'all have a good one!

Better go.....later

Hi Flyfriends!!

Heidi, I will let you know tomorrow - we are flying out early in the am to Montana.

TRYING to stay motivated...
--Karin
Good Evening! Karin-the ho
Good Evening!
Better get DD washed and ready to hit the sack.
Have a lovely evening.
Heidi
Tomorrow's My Day!! Wednesday!!
* Pressed all of my blouses and pants that needed it (I love to be able to pick whatever from my closet & not have to iron it to wear it)
* Unloaded dishwasher
* Making brownies now
* Swam in pool a little while with DD
* Sorted some of our photos so I can scrapbook them
* Ordered photos from Ofoto using $9.90 in credits I have
* Organized sweater drawer and drawer w/t-shirts & shorts
Still to go:
* Finish brownies
OK, y'all have a good evening!!!

Vonnie - you are amazing - very focused! Thanks for the news about Julie, I will have to email her!
Hi Karin! You are hanging in there - great job!
I'm off to bed -

:-)
See you guys soon
Miss you all
Jamie Lea
Wow!
--Karin
$3 a gallon???
We haven't had it that cheap in at least 6 months! Maybe at Costco if you buy two gallons at a time, but they don't have 1%.
Good Morning, All!!
* Folded/hung laundry that I washed/dried last night
* Made today's to do list so I can get a lot done while she's at school
* Made DD's bed and got her room back in order
Then, there's today's PODA:
* Get DD to preschool by 8:45
* Put adoption docs in fireproof safe
* Swap out kitchen cabinets
* Update checkbook
* Clean bathroom
We'll see!
Cya!
Vonnie
Is it morning?
Later! --Karin
Hi Flyfriends!!
She should be waking up any minute starving
She probably is still tired from crying yesterday, poor girl.

No Peace At Home
At least not as long as DD is refusing to take her nap. She was doing everything possible not to fall asleep. So, I have given up and I have put her on the sofa watching Dora. She cannot talk, make noise or get up. It's already 2p.m., so I don't think I even want her to fall asleep now. It will just make bedtime rough.
At least I had 3 1/2 hours while she was at preschool. And boy, did I work my bo-hunkus off!
Today's TADAs:
* Got DD to preschool on time
* Did load of laundry
* Unloaded dishwasher and reloaded
Cya!
Vonnie
I have a shiny sink!
Maybe I should see if we have an organic farm nearby that will deliver milk!
YES I realize there are plenty of dairy farms in California, but we don't exactly live in farm country.
I finally shined my sink last night, after 2 weeks or something. I'd been cleaning it out but not getting it, you know, spotless.

Good Evening!
well today I truly felt like a taxi!
TADA
all of the above

Hot you say? Ha! It is scorching here...I'm melting,melting

Back to a Workday
* Get DD to preschool by 8:45
* Work at office 9-12:30

Heidi
I Was Starting to Think I Had Offended Someone...
I'm glad you're here with me, Heidi.
* Worked 9 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
* Picked up puppy shot record at vet for puppy purchaser
* Made grocery list based on menu and what I don't have on-hand
* Laundry
* Let DD swim in pool while I got eat up by mosquitos
Once I get DD settled into bed, I plan to enjoy a cup of decaf coffee and watch mindless television. Two things I don't often get to partake in!
Y'all have a good evening.
Vonnie
Posting Back to Back
That's not good.
* Make DD's lunch
* Get DD to preschool on time
* Work at office 9 - 12
* Print out some of the control journal stuff from flylady.net; I want to get mine done once & for all
* Deposit my paycheck & DH's attendance check at credit union
* Laundry
* Sweep floors
Well, enough. Is anyone else out there today?
Vonnie
I'm here.

Welcome to motherhood, Vonnie
Then they can help move furniture over here and I can clean an empty house.
good news
I am SO happy to hear how well your DD is talking, Vonnie. It seems like yesterday that you were worried she would never get English down pat. Even if it's annoying sometimes, it's still a good sign. Maybe you could put her in preschool for longer hours sometimes to get more time to yourself?
PODA:
-take meds (I'm late on them this a.m.)
-shower and get dressed (again- late on that this a.m.)
-take out trash
-do some laundry
-study
-vacuum
-mop
a couple more things
Ta-da:
-ran to the post office
And another thing to do: I saw a new family moving into the apartment downstairs, so I had better make some brownies or something and introduce myself.
Just Popping My Head In
before DD and I head out to eat with DH at his work. I am about to put her in the bathtub, wash hair & then I need to trim her bangs. She's beginning to look like a sheepdog!
Today's TADAs (and this will most likely be all for today):
* Took DD to preschool (on time - woohoo!)
* Worked at office 9 a.m. - 12 noon
* Deposited my check & DH's attendance check at bank
* Printed out great info from flylady.net site for my control journal
* Laundry
Y'all have a good one, now -- y'hear?

Vonnie-did you get that coffee break?
DH cooked up a delicious dinner last night:eggplant parmigiana,fried apple slices,green beans. He loves to cook and is a very good cook but just doesn't get to do it that often because he is always working. Nice break for me too.
Better light a fire under Dd so we can go.
see you,
Heidi
I Got My Cup of 'Joe, Heidi!
* Produce stand for peas
* Winn Dixie for ribs and turkey breast
* Make peach cobbler after Mom brings peaches by
* Let DD swim in her pool before lunch
* Sweep floors
* Clean bathroom; especially bathtub
Cya!

Hi Flyfriends!
TADA
Yesterday's TADA:
At Mom's
* Scrubbed outside of kitchen cabinets. I love that Scumbuster.
* Dusted walls with long-handled thing.
* Washed walls in hallway.
* Cleaned one bathroom thoroughly.
* Helped load things onto charity truck.
* After truck left, I could work where the furniture had been in the way.
At home:
* Four loads of laundry. I had to run to bring it all in when a dust storm came up!
* Swept, mopped floors.

HI guys -
JUst poking my head in!
Andrea
Hi Y'all!
I'm back, but to tired to post, plus I have a wakeful baby to contend with. Go to sleep, gal!
Summary: We had fun. The house is grungy. May have to skip church tomorrow to do catch-up.
Oh, Michael won his primary by a landslide! Way to go, Michael! Herman Cain lost, dang it.
Love y'all!

I woke up about 2 am with a terrible feeling of panic that I will never finish everything I need to get done by Thursday.
Quick Check-In
Morning to everyone.
* Cleaned up kitchen
* Worked on control journal
* Laundry
We have ample leftovers and I don't have much room in the fridge for any more leftovers, so we are going to eat last night's fare again today at lunch. It's nice to have a plan and not have to go out to eat because there's nothing at home.
Today's PODA:
* Sunday School (I teach this morning) and church
* Laundry
* Work on control journal while DD naps
Should be a pleasant, restful day.
Y'all have a good one!
Vonnie
welcome back Susannah!
There is so much I didn't get to yesterday. Sigh. But I DID do more than I expected. I think this medication change is probably helping.

Need to shower and straighten so off I go.

Skipped Church
Lots to do tonight. More ta da's tomorrow I hope.
Love y'all!
Susannah

Back Too
I'm back from another camping family reunion.

Have a grand Monday everyone!
-Jo
HI
Take care -
Andrea
