Broke down today and bought my drop spindle.
Woohoo! Ok, this really is addictive. And not as difficult, initially, as I thought. Now if I can just get yarn that's not one long series of slubs with cobweb-thin spots in the middle, I'll be happy.

When you've settled down to a consistent width, which you will before you know it, you will WANT at some point to spin what we in the spinning world call "designer yarn" and you won't be able to do it! (After a while you will, but it takes some time--I'm still working on it.) Have fun!
