Our current favorite Christmas album
Tunes by famous people like Stevie Wonder and not-so-famous people like Odds Bodkins (who is famous among homeschoolers for his story tapes) make up this delightful collection from the wonderful folks at Music for Little People. It includes two of my absolute favorites, "Little Saint Nick" by the Beach Boys and "Jingle Bells" by the Singing Dogs. It just ain't Yule without them Singing Dogs. Demented tunes like Spike Jones' "All I Want for Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth" and out-and-out rockin' via Chuck Berry's "Run Rudolph Run" meet rappers Run-DMC, Latina folkie Tish Hinojosa and traditional Christmas tunes like Gene Autry's original version of "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" to make this an album almost literally for everyone. I DEFY you not to love this CD!
OK, those of you out there who don't celebrate some form of holiday around the Winter Solstice, be it Christmas or Yule, might not like it. But the rest of you...
