Something incredible happened today that makes me question how safe we all really are. My DH flew up to Washington to look at a house that we put on offer on contingent on one of us viewing it.The sellers wanted us to view it by Friday as opposed to Sunday which is what we wanted. I bought the tickets online this morning at around 8:00am. At 10am we found out the sellers agreed to our offer. My DH came home from work immediatley. After changing his clothes we sped down to the airport. I dropped him off with plenty of time to catch his flight. As I was driving home I realized I had enough time to get to the store to pick up some much needed things before my boys got out of school. After a quick trip to the store I came home to drop off the groceries and put them away before I picked up the kids. I checked my answering machine and there was a message from my MIL saying that my DH called her collect to tell her that he forgot his Wallet!!!!!!!
I knew I was going to have to drive back down there to pick him up. She told me that he hadn't called her back and that he had gotten passed security and she thinks he got his boarding pass. I didn't believe her. We have (or so I thought) airport security they are really strict. At this point it was 1:45 his flight left at 1:25pm and we hadn't heard from him. I got on the phone and tried to have him paged at our airport and there was no answer. I called the rental car company and asked if I could fax them any info he needed (drivers liscense, credit card) they said no. So I then called an airport shuttle service and bought him a round trip ticket. Now I had to figure out how to get this information to him. Since I had time until his plane landed I went to FedEx and sent his wallet overnight. It will be there by 10:30am. When I got back MIL called and told me he was in Oakland, Ca (he had a layover). I was flabbergasted!! 
They let him on the plane with no ID what so ever. 
I mean what happened to all the alerts that we where going to have a terrorist attack in the next couple of months.
Anyway, DH has a 2 hour layover in Oakland and he had to get another boarding pass. There was no way he could get by again right? Nope, he got it. As we speak he is flying to Washington.
I have two theories about what happened today.
1.That our "airport security" are just another committee or task force that was invented to make someone look good and put on a good show. Yeah they will harrass you if they are bored or maybe you get an employee who is on a power trip and you'll have a little more trouble but all in all it's just another production courtesy of the Ruling Party.
2. There is a divine source working out there. Who sees every tear, traffic jam, and unqualified teachers, that we have. Who hears every prayer Me, DH, and our children have been praying. All of the "Your will not ours". Who feels all of the pain,frusteration, anger, hurt, resentment, and sadness. Who wants Peace for us more than we want it for ourselves.
I have thought about this a lot today and I KNOW it's the later. I really believe that this is what he had planned for us all along. I don't know how I know but I do!
I just have to believe that because if I don't, I will never fly again.
