Week One at Home

Today is my first week anniversary of being a SAHS.

This first week, I gave myself permission to be "on vacation at home". I've never really had that opportunity before. Whenever I've had more than a long weekend off work, it has been spent traveling. I don't mean to complain about the past - those were amazing experiences - but it is not the same as having "down" time.

Also, I don't mean I did nothing all week. Each day, I prepared the meals, did the laundry and dishes. I began minimal morning and evening routines. Also, I started small steps in my weekly routines - menu planning, grocery shopping, etc. I even made time for an afternoon visit with a friend.

I felt so tired the first couple days, but each day brought more energy than the previous. I think all I really needed was enough sleep and a healthy diet.

Final note, I haven't had more than a fleeting thought about "my" projects at my former job. I thought I would be concerned about how they were progressing, but I'm not. Smiling
