Yep, That John Kerry's Not Much of a War Hero...Until You Read His Record

John Kerry has released his war records, as demanded by his detractors trying to find some little kernel of truth in their claims that he's really not such a war hero--after all, they managed to smear Max Cleland, a guy who lost limbs in Vietnam, how hard could it be to find something on Kerry? Apparently, pretty hard.
Not only was Kerry wounded, not only did he save members of his command, he VOLUNTEERED for duty in-country, and more. Compare and contrast with Mr. AWOL-from-his-nepotistic-National-Guard-Duty. The crew at DailyKos wraps it up pretty well, and quite partisanly, but hey, you already know where I stand in all this. Just sayin'.

They're backpedaling so fast...
Republicans started out with nasty comments like:
"John Kerry is not a war hero...He couldn't tie the shoes of some of the people in Coastal Division 11."
and now they're issuing statements like:
"Republicans said they had simply questioned Kerry's initial refusal to make the records available because he claimed on "Meet the Press" on Sunday that all of his military records were open for inspection"
Yeah, right. Hmm, who's more legitimate as the Commander in Chief? Someone who volunteered to fight in Vietnam and got a silver star, a bronze star, and three purple hearts or someone who got his daddy to get him into the National Guard and refused to be deployed overseas?
Hmmm.
