Its my dad, again...

My mother called en route to the hospital behind the EMS unit. My dad seems to have had some kind of seizure. He has only been home from TN (Turkey hunting season, you know) since Wed. and my mother has felt that he hasn't been "right." Of course, my dad is stubborn as a mule about health issues (and everything else too Sticking out tongue ).

My mom told me not to come right now, until they "know something," but waiting is hard...

Your prayers and good thoughts would be most welcome.

Thanks,
Lenora

Not a seizure...

Submitted by lgunnoe on Mon, 04/19/2004 - 3:55am.

Exaustion and pnumonia (sp?) Idiotic man sat out in the woods, cold and wet, for ten days waiting for a turkey to come along...

They admitted him to the hospital and will run a few more tests this morning, but my mom is not expecting anything drastic (or 'new') to show up.

...The man is 77, works 50 hours a week, is diabetic with heat problems, and spent 10 days traipsing through the Tennessee hills hunting wild turkeys...

Yep, that's my dad! Big grin

Keep prayin' though, friends, as he is NOT a great patient...

Thanks,
Lenora

PS Hi DebbieH! How is darling Amber???? Did I see that you are expecting again? Blessings!

I hope your dad is feeling better. He sounds a lot like my dad and DH. Hopefully this will remind him to slow down and enjoy life at a slower pace. Thank GOD its not more serious. How did exhaustion pnumonia lead to a seizure? Prayers for your mom too! I know how frightening it is to witness someone you love having a seizure!

Dad is sweet as pie with every female to whom he is not married! Eye-wink

Actually, he and my mother are a wonderful pair, and madly in love (after 41 years!) but my dad does tend to take his anger/fear out on my mom....pretty typical, though, I suppose...at least my mom is well aware of what motivates his bad tempers and deals with it fairly well.

I spoke with him this afternoon (I'm sick and couldn't go to the hospital) and he said "I'm going home tomorrow and back to work on Wed." I asked, "Oh! What time did the doctor say you'd be home?" And my dad replied...."I haven't TOLD him yet." Puzzled Laughing out loud

Well, at this point, we can't really CHANGE him...and aside from his taking better care of his health, we don't really want to! We just gotta love him!

I hope things go well for you with your dad. Sometimes these guys can be so stubborn!!! They don't like to be sick. So they just wish it away and therefore they're not. Some good rest and antibiotics should do him good.

As bad as pneumonia can be at your dad's age (he sounds pretty tough though!) I can only say I'm seriously relieved that's all it is. I'm sure your mother will want to scold him like crazy for frightening her like that - I know I would!

thinking of you all...

Kerri.
