For Americans who like old-fashioned Coca-Cola
I probably should have posted this earlier, but oh well. In the US since the 1970s or so, Coke has been made with corn syrup; before that, and in most other countries, it is/ was made with cane sugar, which IMO tastes better. However, observant Jews are not supposed to consume corn products during Passover, so in the Passover sections of supermarkets through the 13th or so, Kosher-For-Passover Coca-Cola made with cane sugar may be available. Most large supermarkets in cities with any kind of Jewish population will carry some Passover foods (usually in an end-of-aisle seasonal display), but they might not have Coke; you might have to go to a Jewish market for that-- most big cities have at least one, and you don't have to be Jewish to go. Those of you who live in states near Mexico (like me) may have noticed that Mexican Coca-Cola is also made with cane sugar. I don't know about Canada.
Please note that this does not make Coke healthy!

It may not make it healthy, but it sure makes it tastier! Thanks for posting this!
The Canadian Coca-Cola I've had was also made with real sugar. It's surprising how much better it tastes than US Coca-Cola.

For the sake of correctness,
For the sake of correctness, I should say that Jews of eastern European heritage (Ashkenazic, like me) are not supposed to eat corn products during Passover if they are observant; those whose ancestors came from other places (which includes most Israeli Jews) have different rules and I think they are allowed to have corn.
corn syrup vs cane sugar
Actually, while it wouldn't make the Coke HEALTHY, it would make it a little LESS UNhealthy to use cane sugar over corn syrup, especially since so many folks have corn sensitivities.

Healthy Coke?? - GIMME!!!
I just went to the cupboard to check the bottle we have left over from CNY (I'm not kidding!) and all it says is sugar. Doesn't say where it's made either, just that it's bottled here. Most of the sugar over here is cane sugar, so I would guess it's more likely to be cane sugar than corn syrup, although maybe not if it comes in from China.
interesting though... thanks Becky! Shame it's the gas and the temperature that do me the most damage!!

I think most non-US Coke is made with cane sugar. It is in the UK as far as I know, Kerri, so if it does not taste very strange to you, it probably is regular sugar.
It occurs to me that some stores might just put it in the soda aisle instead of in the Kosher-For-Passover section. It has a different color cap or something.
Coke with cane sugar
It is possible to order a number of sodas (in glass) with cane sugar...including Coke on the Internet. It also appears Corn Syrup may be linked to obesity and diabetes...so we may see the return to cane based products....One can only hope.
