Just Us Chickens (or Mother Hen and Chick)

DH is out of town on business 'til Friday so DD and I are knocking around the house, just the two of us. I don't think she really understands yet that he's going to be gone for several days. Or maybe she does understand but she's cool with it right now, or will be until I correct her next, thus becoming the "bad guy" and she "wants Daddy". Am I borrowing trouble or what?

I feel so silly that this throws me off my routine, but it really does. We arrange our routine around his work schedule, and now, without his being here, I have no external schedule anymore. Mind you, I'm not hoplessly lost or anything, it's just strange. He hasn't been on a business trip in so long, I've forgotten what it was like.

So we're just taking it easy and loose, and getting used to living, however temporarily, in a testosterone free zone. Miss him.

Daddy's girls

When my DD13.5 was a preschooler, DH traveled quite a bit. I worked full time, and dd~3.5 loved her "school" and teachers...

HOWEVER, whenever DH was gone for a full week (or more), I could COUNT on day 4 being a total loss. One or both of us were going to have a melt down! I used to warn her teachers "Its the fourth day!" when I dropped her off at school.

Dh is, at the moment. in Kansas City...Missouri? Kansas? I'm not sure which Laughing out loud I know he flew into Missouri, then drove to Kansas and then drove somewhere else!

<= bad wife!...not keeping track!... I love cell phones!

He's travelling quite a bit these days, but usually for only 2-3 days at a time. We deal with it...sigh

I don't sleep well when he's gone, though, (hence the 1:20 am post!) DD13.5 has to be up at 6:00 am, DD9 at 7:00am, and I have a 12 hour day on campus!

I must TRY to get some sleep

Be well!
Lenora...also swimming in a sea of estrogen! Eye-wink
