The Harbinger of Spring has arrived! It's not the daffodils, though they are blooming in great profusion, it's not the songbirds, though they're back en force, it's those orange and white construction cones that are popping up like mushrooms everywhere! And we are celebrating the return of Spring by putting in a bid on a sweet little 1.7 acre lot north of Vernonia, Oregon! Spring has sprung!
We're going to sign the papers tomorrow, and, God, the Universe, and chirping chickadees willing, we'll be accepted and on our way to owning some real estate for the first time in our lives! A bit of earth to call Home! It's a wooded, quiet but not too secluded spot in the country. Well, quiet except for the birds who are trying to drown each other out with their spring courtship calls, and ditto the frogs at night! And the property has a stream running throught the back of the lot that rushes by merrily. You can hear the sound of the water from the road. It's like a little slice of Heaven on earth! Here's keeping my fingers and toes crossed that the deal goes through. We've been looking since July last year and are starting to get panic-y, we wanted to start building a house this spring! There's enough room for DH's pole barn, a garage, house, and a vegetable garden, rose garden, and an orchard for me! I'm trying not to get too excited until they accept our offer, but I'm feeling lucky today!
So, watch out for those flaggers and sign-bearers! Slow down for those construction crews! Expect delays! It's Construction Season! Boy, I'm really getting into the Spirit of Spring right now. I can hardly wait for Easter!
