As long as I'm living, my baby you'll be........
You may all be familiar with this story, the book seems to be very popular in the US and Canada. I heard about it for the first time this week, and I came across this link to the author reading the story to a group of children.
When I came across it it really resonated with me as the little song in the story is just how I feel about DS12. His 13th birthday is looming and I've been thinking about how he is growing into a man, but will always be my baby...
I love this story. I might just have to buy the book.

Oh, I love that book!
That books been around for a while! My grandma used to read it to my brother and sister (they're 9 and 12 years younger than me). And my mother in law bought it for my daughter. You're right, it's an awesome book. And it describes a lot of things perfectly. The beginning describes how I feel toward my children, but that end describes how I feel about my mom. Oh, great. I'm getting teary. Must be that time of the month.
I may still have the darned thing memorized
We ended up with two copies somehow after our first one's birth. It was his absolute favorite read-to-me book for a while, so we had it every night for months on end. It gets a bit cloying after that much exposure, but he never noticed...he still drags it out to look at the pictures now and then.
DW can't read it without getting choked up, though.
My baby you'll be ...
My Mom gave me that books when DS7 was born. I also cannot read it without crying, there's something about it ...
Read from the Pulpit!
Years ago, I had a pastor who read that book from the pulpit--and got choked up while reading it too! Of course, we have since acquired it and I have read it many times to my kids. They like me to rock them "back and forth, back and forth" while I read the words. I like it and think it's a fun read, but, while it's a very sweet book, it doesn't make me cry. Sometimes I think I'm totally unsentimental! LOL!
No, Not Really
I just thought of a book that *always* makes me cry. It's called "The Bear That Heard Crying," and it's based on a true story of a little girl who got lost in the woods and was protected by a bear. The reunion of the family always brings me to tears.

I'll love you forever
I'll like you for always!
My mother gave copies of this to both of her sons-in-law for THEM to give to their mothers on Mother's day the year of our weddings (my sis and I married just a couple of months apart!)....much crying ensued!
Of course we also have it at home and occasionally one of the DDs or I will "sing" the first line and then we finish it together....
Its a MUST HAVE!
