I'm so dizzy, my world is spinning...like a whirlpool, it never ends...

Was really dizzy yesterday then when my lips and mouth started tingling I got worried and went to the doctor. I'm OK, but I have a viral infection in my inner, inner ear. It's actually a relief to have a virus. I was getting worked up over being so dizzy and not knowing why. Turns out the tingling lips and mouth was because during dizzy spells I started hyperventillating without realizing it. Tingling like that is a side effect. Never had that before!

I'm under doctors orders to rest, NOT to drive Smiling, and if I feel like I need it, to lay down. So I spent the day sitting or laying down on the couch, playing with DD, and untangling the fringe on my chenille throw. The kitchen's a mess and the floor needs a good vacuum, but I'll deal with it later.

So if your lips start to tingle, or your face or your fingers, slow down your breathing and look around at what's got you worked up, man. Or see your doctor to make sure you're OK!

Can't drive? Yikes! I'm glad

Can't drive? Yikes! I'm glad you are ok... If you are looking for something to do while you are resting, but reading is out because you have to watch your kids (I don't know about you but when I am reading a dragon could fly by and I probably wouldn't even look up) you could try knitting. It sounds quaint and old fashioned, I know, but the more I do it the more I love it. I can keep and eye on my son, do something useful and keep busy, it keeps me from snacking because my hands are so busy, and it makes the 4ooth telling of "Thomas and Percy are friends" or whatever a little easier to take.

This has not been brought to you by Knitters are us, although it sounds enough like a commercial.

I'm a zoned out reader, too

Yes, I can get so into a book that I might not notice a minor earthquake. My mother is the same way. I grew up having to yell "MAH-AHM" to get her attention when she read. I hated it. So I only read at night before I go to bed.

How are you feeling?

Any better now? I suppose there's not much you can take for a virus. I'm glad you are following doctor's orders and getting some rest.

Am much better now

Today I don't feel dizzy at all. I can stand up, sit down, bend over, and walk without any dizziness or lightededness. I'm very pleased! Apparently it was just a 48 hour bug.

I'm feeling a little fuzzy headed but I think that's because I didn't do anything yesterday or this morning and need to clear my head.

I didn't knit while I was dizzy, it was too disconcerting to try to focus on precision handwork while my head felt like it was rolling around on my shoulders. But I'm ready now to start on sleeve #2 of my daughter's sweater. And vacuum, and take care of the recyclables, and contact our realtor...but I'll take it slow. Viruses are not something to take lightly. They're generally a message to slow down and take care of yourself because your wearing yourself out and, in one way or another, suppressing your immune system. IMHO.

I'm glad you feel better. It

I'm glad you feel better. It is so awful to be sick when you have little ones to take care of. I remember before I had kids, when I would get sick (even just a little sick...sometimes even just a-little-bit-of-a-hangover sick, I would take a day off work and feel oh-so-sorry for myself...woe is me. Now, if I feel sick enough to actually notice it or say something or even see a doctor, it scares me!
My knitting does not take too much concentration as I am very new and have so far stayed in the comfort zone of scarves and hats with very basic stiches! I am hoping to branch out in the near future, as I live in so. Cal. and I just do not need that many hats and scarves, nor do my friends!!
Definitely take it slow...take care!

You looked perfectly healthy Wednesday afternoon! John said you looked pretty peaked yesterday when he dropped your girl's coat off. I'm glad you're feeling better!

Do you remember me mentioning

Submitted by Anhata on Fri, 03/05/2004 - 11:37pm.

Do you remember me mentioning before I left Wed. that I was feeling dizzy? It got worse around three that day and even worse around five. By five I wasn't safe to drive.

John came by a little earlier than he said he would. I was still in my PJ's, uncombed hair, with my blanket around my shoulders. Mind you, this is in the p.m., sometime after one I think, the times are fuzzy. I'm surprised he didn't run screaming for the hills at the sight of me. Sticking out tongue

I feel better reading this because I've been overstressed and out of no where today I started feeling really dizzy/faintish and my tongue started tingling at the same time. I was really scared and started to panic but I am going to call the doctor as soon as they open at 9 just in case I need to be seen.
thanks again maybe I am going through something similar
