Five years ago today, The New Homemaker officially went "live." I had no ad budget, no staff, no readers and very little content. Today I still have no ad budget and no staff, but TNH has over 500 pages of mostly original content and 5,000 unique visitors a day--nearly all of whom arrived by word of mouth. We've gone through at least three major site revisions (that I can remember...) and I'm still transitioning us into this new format. Hopefully I'll be done with that by the time we turn six.

We had talked about something special for TNH's birthday. What I'd like to see are your best recollections about special moments here in the last five years. Can you do that? That's be great.

You have created a vibrant, supportive and friendly community that can still vigorously debate issues. Do you know how rare that is on the Internet? Do you know how special you all are? Well, you are. I just made this space; you guys "live" here and make it what it is. I cannot tell you how much you all mean to me.
