Adoption Update: The Application, The Referral
Well, yesterday I handed a 2-inch thick stack of paper that represents 6 months of work on Frank's and my part to the lady at the post office. $9.90 and a big white envelope later, it was gone. I felt like I was sending a body part away with strangers. I requested return receipt so that I know it got there. Frank said, "Well, if it doesn't get there, you're still going to have to redo all that work even if it's the post office's fault." Thanks, Frank!
Today I called AFAA to make sure the homestudy had been received via email. While I was talking to the woman I asked about the little boy from the July 2003 listing of available children. He's been adopted. I'm glad for him; he hasn't had to spend all this time in a group home. They are mailing me a current list of available children, and Frank and I can pick a child off that list.
I should get the list Saturday. I should get the list Saturday. I should get the list SATURDAY!! I might know on Saturday WHO MY SON IS GOING TO BE!!! How will I survive until then??
