TA DA's today are:

*One load laundry washed, one dried and one folded
*Dressed to shoes
*Homeschooled (even with fractious 5yo)
*Pot roast in crock pot
*Lunch served
Next on the PODA is our therapy appt. It's a pool day.
Impressive TADA Susannah! Home schooling's about all I get done lately!
Sounds like you had a nice trip Andrea, glad your back
Well I have a mini TADA
2 loads of laundry done to finish
homeschooled
dusted family room
spiffied a bit in the kitchen
My Goal for the week is to get caught up on laundry, yea I think that was my goal last week, but I gotta do it, it's draining me. I've done 2 loads today, with one still in the dryer, need to fold that before bed and then get going with it again first thing in the morning. I figure I'm about 4 loads from being caught up. I feel awful admitting to being that behind, but oh well, "it" happens!
It's been a busy couple of days. Went to the accountant yesterday with all of our tax stuff (can't believe they are due next week!). Our old CPA retired, this lady has took over his business, and so far I like her. All our old files were still there, so I didn't have to explain too much to her. Went to Hobby Lobby to get the scrapbooking stickers they forgot to put in my bag last week (and bought a couple more). Then last night we went to our Varsity girls district game in Dora (an hour away). We lost, story here: http://www.pntonline.com/engine.pl?station=portales&template=storyfull.h...
Sunday was church (DH stayed home with Chance, so it was nice to be able to pay attention to the service for a change), Saturday was a home game against Dora JV and varsity boys and girls, and Friday was JV and varsity boys. We have seen 9 ball games in the past few days, and still at least one more Saturday (varsity boys district). I had subbed Friday, too.
Thank the Lord it is snowing today! We need the moisture so bad! Maybe we will get 80 inches! (I wish, probably just 1 or 2).
Lazy day planned. Maybe some laundry, but I think I will try to scrapbook alot. I've gotten a ton done. Once I realized that keeping toys pickup after Chance is pointless, I quit! Now I have more time for other things! LOL!
DH is very sick and I made an appt for him this afternoon. I suspect pneumonia. Keep us in your thoughts.
Was nice enough yesterday to take DD2 outside to ride her trike up and down the block. I guess it was about 40 degrees out. A virtual heatwave for us!
Scrapping sounds really good,Jenny. I don't use the supplies for that though I do make greeting cards with most of the papers,stickers,etc. It is fun and addictive. I guess you all are a big sports town. Alot of games in just a few days and your kids aren't even involved in all that yet...whew...
Susannah-how did the pool go? Do you get access to it during therapy,too?
Andrea-glad you are back but missed the post that you were even out of town. was the trip for fun or "business"?
Well,TADA:
laundry put away
bed made
DS off to school
DD2 fed,dressed and washed
Me too!
couple phone calls made
paperwork put in mail
After lunch is the doctor appt so DD2 will probably have a late nap when we get back,maybe she will nap in the car.
Great TA DA's! Heidi, I hope your DH is okay. Please convey my get well wishes.
Well, I couldn't get online, so I composed an essay in Word to copy here:
You know how Flylady reassures us that housework done incorrectly still blesses the family. I believe that, by the way. As this book I’m reading (PDL) points out, even the simplest, most imperfectly done task, done gladly for God, can be an act of worship.
Well, my problem is not so much being a perfectionist with a particular cleaning task (like scrubbing all the grout with a toothbrush when the toilet has grunge growing in it). I can swish and swipe without a twinge of guilt. My problem is that I want to get the whole house straight in one day and keep it that way. I have to accept that even if I rose at 5 a.m. and diligently avoided the computer and followed all the zone work and missions I still probably couldn’t do it. I am coming to believe it is impossible to keep a 1690 sq. ft. house straight when 7 people are living in it (and only one person is doing the cleaning up). First of all, not all this stuff is mine. Granted, I have power to declutter about 75% of it. But the 25% that is DH’s is pretty clutter-y and I can’t touch it...the tools & junk in the garage for instance, or the piles and piles of books in our foyer. Or the stacks of paper on his desk. So I let that stuff go rather than nag my poor DH about it. Second, the ongoing tasks quickly overwhelm if you miss even one tiny little beat. In what seems like seconds, laundry grows to scary proportions, kitchen counters get covered with goop, suddenly there are no clean drinking glasses...you get the picture. And it’s impossible to go through life without missing a beat. Stuff happens, ya know. So I’m left feeling like I’m one tiny person struggling to hold back a tidal wave of chaos. (Can you detect the self-pity here?)
I think I still have a “failure” monster hanging on by tooth-and-nails in my mind. I haven’t completely shaken it off. And when I “fail” to “keep my house,” as in keep it put together, it whispers that I could do better, I’m lazy, I’m bad at my chosen career, etc. Or maybe I’m just incapable, I don’t have the same abilities as other women. After all, I’ve been “baby-stepping” for four years now!!
I don’t believe God would have me feel that way. This whole thing really is a mental struggle, an attitude issue. FlyLady is right about that.
I’m planning to streamline our lives a little. I’ve been on WIC this last couple of years because my last two pregnancies were state-funded (ironic, given my conservative principles). Well, I called them today to withdraw. I thought about it and, even though I was grateful for the help and the nurse has always been very kind and respectful to me, there are privacy issues and it just complicates my life. The kids get weighed and checked by their pediatrician already, so taking them to the health dept. is superfluous and basically just jumping through hoops for a little free milk. Tuna, beans, etc. are cheap to buy anyway. I don’t need nutrition education...my mother was a home ec. major at LSU and I went to school on an army base. I got all the anti-smoking. tooth-cleaning, food-groups-awareness, avoiding-plastic-explosives training I could ever use in grade school. I was immunized right in the school cafeteria. I know how to stay alive and avoid cavities!
I may get the children off state-funded health care as well. At the very least, I’m going to ask Anna Kate’s therapists to propose an end-game, so we can stop going there. They are very nice and I like them, but they haven’t said a word to me about how long this will go on. I want them to “graduate” her so that she leaves feeling confident. Lately she’s been asking me, “How come I have to go to therapy; I’m coordinated. See?” [moving her arms around in big circles]. When I tell her she can quit anytime she wants, she says, “Naw, it’s still kinda fun.” So I’ve kept on, but there’s no reason for other taxpayers to continue to fund our “fun.” I see the other children who come in there...strapped into wheelchairs, hanging on to walkers, barely able to communicate. They need the therapy. We don’t.
There are medical cooperatives that we could join. I’m strongly considering that, coupled with a medical savings account. I have no medical coverage right now so it would actually be an improvement.
Anyhow, I didn’t mean to write an essay, but these things have been bugging me off and on for a long time.
PODA:
*Slay the laundry beast
*Homeschool
*This & that.
Well,DH indeed has pneumonia in his right lung. He is on antibiotics and bedrest for 1 week. If he doesn't stay in bed he has to go to the hospital. I think the thought of being in the hospital scared him right into bed.
Since all the running to doctor and xray and back to doctor,the afternoon melted away. Just gonna throw something quick together for dinner and help DS with homework,that's it.
Susannah- follow your heart,you only know what is best for your family. It feels good to write it all out and stare at it though doesn't it?
Boy, have I had a tough time getting on the site! It is way past my bedtime, so I'll just say that I've been glad to read through and catch up with you all -- always soooo much going on!
Susannah, you gotta ease up on yourself! Babies make life hard, that's all there is to it! This too shall pass . . . this too shall pass . . .
I think we found our school today! It is the neighborhood school for the next neighborhood over, and DH and I absolutely loved it. There are two catches: in order for the school to pay for full-day kindergarten, there is a fee-based program (I won't explain this in detail, but it is apparently common in our state, if not our district, because parents are demanding full day but the funding isn't there for it.) More important is that we are lower on the list for the school because we are not in the 'hood, so we may not get a spot.
(This is life in the big city with tons of magnet and charter public schools as well as private schools. The choices are truly mind-boggling: Spanish-immersion, French-immersion, science partnership, classical education, multiple intelligences, performing arts, visual arts, and on and on, plus the neighborhood schools. And all this great choice with no vouchers! -- sorry, couldn't resist -- )
I'd better head for bed. I've been taking tap dance lessons on the weekend, and now I've moved up a level to a late class on Tuesday nights, which means I am wired when I really need to go to bed and get ready for an early morning.
I'm glad you've found one to suit you, Shaun! I'm more of a half-day proponent myself, but that would be my can't-sit-still kids.
Here's hoping it all works out well for you!
Heidi, take care of that DH! Make him stay still!
My baby is pretty agreeable. I am without excuse. Except for my supposition that it's IMPOSSIBLE! I've sorta given up these last couple of days. Not completely, I've done dishes and washed laundry and vacuumed & stuff, but mostly just sat around and noodled on the computer or thought about stuff.
TA DAs today:
*Homeschooled lite
*Found a babysitter, but turns out DH doesn't want the expense so he's staying home.
*Made bed & dressed to shoes.
*Cleaned out hamster cage last night.
*Put in a call to YMCA; there's a lock-in Friday night for the girls' ages, but I missed the payment deadline.
I'm going to see the Passion of the Christ today with friends from church. I'll let you know what I think of it. I'm looking forward to it in a way, and yet dreading it in another way. I have trouble with cruelty in films and I've always had trouble with crucifixion of Christ scenes, and all the reviews say this is very graphic. Then again, some are saying it's homoerotic, so there ya go. Who knows what to expect?
Good Afternoon!
Ds had a half day today again due to parent/teacher conferences. So after he left this morning, i took DD2 to storytime at the library. DH called after so we went home. Now we will go to the store and pick up a few things. So...
TADA
Zippo
PODA
dinner
homework
bath for DD
I started The Secret Life of Bees and really think it's good. I think someone here may have read it but don't remember who.
DH is doing fair, today is 2 days on antibiotic so it starts to kick in about now.
That was me Heidi! Loved that book - hope DH is himself again soon, hard to be in bed! Yes, the kids and I went to Arizona to visit my parents - it was great!
The school sounds good Shaun - hope you can get in. Yes, you have many more choices than we do, doesn't surprise me for MN. We can choose between traditional and multi-age in our public school and then of course there are the parochials (not so expensive) and the private schools (big bucks).
I am not feeling well and life is busier than ever. had to paint a refrigerator box today for DS7's play. Still not done. Work tomorrow and our sitter called in sick! Aaaargh!
Well now the plot thickens and DS9 is home today from school complaining of cold symptoms. I have my own makeshift hospital here. I better not come down with anything or the whole ship will sink!!
So any plans are pretty much out the window as I have 2 sickies on my hands. Think good thoughts,guys.
Andrea-so it was you who read Secret Life of Bees. I'm really enjoying it alot.
Jenny- did you all get all that snow? I heard on the news that some areas got almost 2 ft. Wow.
Well, thanks for all the well wishes and i will check in later. Off to call Ds in sick to school.
It snowed last night. Looks like about 1/2 inch...enough to cover the ground. Kids are thrilled! Our usual Feb. snowfall.
Poor Heidi. Praying that you stay healthy!
I came down with something last night during the movie. After some tylenol, I feel a bit better this morning.
TA DAs from last night:
*Forced myself to stay up and clean LR, guest bath and dishes/sink, though I could not swallow!
SLUG:
*Didn't fold laundry
*Didn't clear hot spot
*Didn't clean kitchen floor & counters
*Not showered/dressed yet this morning
Seems like Emma was up 5 or 6 times last night. Most of the time I resettled her with the paci, but nursed a couple of times too. She did real well at the movie.
I may have to skip my sleepover if I'm still sick tomorrow, but I'm still going to get the girls to their lock-in.
Susannah-hang in there. Hope you feel better ASAP. but while you are under the weather,let the house stuff go or have the family pitch in to help.
i've been hanging out at the computer alot this morning as I am pretty much destined to be home all day taking care of the family.
DD2 is now in her 3rd outfit of the morning. I think we will save alot of money not sending her to college since it looks like she has chosen her career...stripper!
We find out in about 3 weeks if she will be attending the preschool at the elementary school DS goes to. I really liked it and it is so close and inexpensive,I hope she is able to go.
We got about 3 inches of snow. Would have been more, but it was pretty warm when it started and much melted. It continued all day long really heavy, and was just wonderful!! Some of the higher elevations (7,000+ ft) got the 2 feet of it. Here in the high plains, about 4,000 ft above sea level, it wasn't near as much. It was a great wet snow, lets hope it's the start of a change in the weather patterns and we get more precip.
I need to do some laundry and make my bed still. Type my news column and send it in, pick up a little. Useless mopping the kitchen with mud outside. Make brownies for DD6's class bake sale tomorrow. And scrapbook? We'll see!
Sorry about all the sickie's out there! Hope everyone gets better soon!
Jenny, front page! I'm impressed. And what a cutie, but you already knew that
Heidi, I hope your family's better soon so mommy can get some rest.
Andrea, are you feeling better? What sort of play is DS in ?
I'm maintaining, but still haven't "caught up" on laundry. I went to the Dr. this morning and DS5 was able to go back with me and hear the baby's heartbeat. I think he's almost as excited as me!
After the Dr.'s office we met Dh for a late lunch, that's been about it for today.
Ok, I'm off to watch "The Apprentice", see you guys tomorrow.
Jamie Lea
~~~~~ Good vibes to Heidi's DH. My mom used to get pnuemonia frequently, so I'm keeping him in my prayers. He should be feeling better now that he's on antibiotics.
I spent a most exciting day on the lot where my church will be building. The workers were clearing away debris. We bought the property four years ago, and it has taken this long to get the approval from the city to begin to build.
I don't have much to report. I've been lazy. Especially where the laundry is concerned. Sore throat again last night.
I did bake that berry pie and it's very good. The crust is very tender & flaky.
Lois, congratulations on the go-ahead to build! That's wonderful!
Jenny, hoping you get more moisture where that came from. We had another snowfall last night but it started melting away almost immediately. As far as I'm concerned, that's one of the advantages of living in GA. It's pretty when it first falls, but yucky if it stays around.
I'd post a PODA, but probably won't do it. I really do need to move some laundry, though. The main thing is getting the girls to their sleepover tonight. I'm a little nervous about that, for some reason, but they'll be together and I told them they could call me at any time if they want to back out. It's not the first time they've slept over somewhere; they stayed at their aunt's when they were younger. I was nervous about that too! LOL! Boy, when it comes time to cut these apron strings, it's not gonna be easy.
Becky- sorry to hear you aren't well either. Here's to a speedy recovery.
susannah- how is your sore throat? Hopefully you are on the mend as well.
thanks to all who thought good thoughts for DH. His appetite is back and is feeling better. but he still must remain in bed and not overdo or we will end up at square one. i know he is going bonkers just lying around. Oh, how much i would enjoy that for a week!!
Took DD2 to an indoor playground with some friends yesterday. Good fun. We packed lunches and all ate there as well.
DS is sleeping over at his Aunt and Uncle's and probably will stay again tonight. I miss him when he goes but he always has a good time there.
Andrea- I finished "Bees" last night. So awesome,huh? Everyone out there should read it too. i have been alternating between reading a classic and then a modern day bestseller. So next is Jane Eyre.
Well gonna go read the paper and have some coffee before we get ready to take DH back to the Dr. this am.
PODA;
Dr appt
deposit at bank
walk
light putzing around house
Glad you liked it Heidi! Wonder if she's written anything else. Yes, I'd love to lay around too!
Yes, curious to hear about the sleepover Susannah! How are you feeling?
Hope you are back up to snuff soon Becky.
well, I'm doing some paid work now - working on a short PODA for today. So far I've gone to Curves and Wal-mart - also emptied dw. Really need to clean my bathroom, especially after cleaning out our vacuum in there. Need to start a vacuum thread, we're considering a new one.
Sorry you are not feeling well, Becky. It can't be easy to do school when you feel bad.
Glad hubby's making progress, Heidi. I always think I'd like bed rest, but I'd probably go crazy too!
I picked the girls up a couple of hours ago, and they seem to have had a good time. As usual, it's not easy to get it all out of them, even playing 20 questions! I think they enjoyed midnight swimming the most. The lady in charge told me Anna Kate had had a leg cramp and was crying this morning, but when I questioned Anna she didn't seem all that upset about it. They said they missed me...a little.
So there's another adventure under our belts.
DH came home with only two hamsters yesterday. Looks like we have 7 in this next litter. The kids are fighting over holding them right now. I don't like the boys to hold them, they get a little manhandled. Plus, with my cold I don't want to have to catch them if they get loose. Human viruses can kill hamsters.
We are out of money and soon to be out of groceries! Well, I guess we can drink water if we run out of milk, juice and sugar for kool-aid. Funny, when you have no money it's almost like you are free from worries over it. Nothing to be done!
Emma feels a bit warm to me, but the ear thermometer doesn't register a fever. I've been worried she might catch this thing. I've had sore throat & no other symptoms, but today I feel more symptoms coming on. Bummer!
I did do a bunch of laundry yesterday, including folding. But I stalled at putting away the kids' clothes and I have more to wash, esp. diapers. I was going to make chicken last night, but my chicken pieces smelled horrible when I pulled them out of the fridge. What a waste! We had eggs & biscuits instead.
I'm getting hungry now, since I had only chocolate milk for breakfast. Oughta go rustle something up, though I don't really feel like eating, or more precisely, swallowing.
Speaking of which, I've lost five pounds this week. I don't know if it's eating less, drinking more water for the throat, or switching to lower fat milk.
Yes, I'm sure we'll manage groceries somehow. The Lord always takes good care of us. I've got canned food, etc. in the cupboards and some in the freezer, but the kids' favorite things to drink & eat run out quickly. I think I have meals for another week or so and by then DH should have finished another job, weather permitting. We are stocked up on t.p., thank heaven! And my laundry soap should hold out.
I'm feeling lousy. Blech! This sore throat has persisted since Wed. and now I've got the sinus junk too. Whine, whine!
I think I'll just do laundry today. TA DAs are, I straightened up a bit last night and did the dishes and mopped the kitchen floor. The kitchen's in good shape. I did not do a final vacuum of the LR. Had already vacuumed twice! I don't know how the kids manage to get junk on the carpet so fast.
Good Morning!
Sunday a day of rest...Ha I already TADA:
2 loads laundry in progress
DD2 fed,changed,dressed,watching cartoons with DH
paid several bills
put some photos in album
dw loaded
me showered,fed,dressed
read Sunday paper
Whew... Ds should be coming home around lunch time. They were supposed to go ice skating last night so am anxious to hear how it went since he has never been before. I would have gotton a call if broken bones were involved so it can't be that bad!! LOL.
will take kids outside for a walk or to the park again since it is supposed to hit low 50's today.
still need to buy lunch meat for the week and i am low on laundry detergent. Other than that, I am done for the Day of Rest...
You too Heidi! You deserve it! You actually got a lot done.
I'm headed out to take the kids for a swim (indoor of course). I may soak in the hot tub, though I don't relish the thought of squeezing into my suit in February.
Well DS is off to school and today is food shopping day. We will get lunch meat at BJ's(never went yesterday) and regular stuff at Aldi.
DD2 needs a spring weight jacket so may try to hit the thrift store and see. i hate to buy a new one since she will only be wearing it for 2-3 months off and on plus it will get dirty playing in the yard,park,etc. I hate buying something brand new and 2 days later there I am trying to get grass or mud stains out!!
Hope Becky and susuannah are feeling up to snuff today.
Mount Washmore?
Jamie, I am always behind on laundry! It is hard to get together enough quarters, even when I air-dry.
I finally gave in and put a litter box in the cats' new spot. They are happy to have a new bathroom installed.
Our kitchen is appalling and I am slowly fixing it up today.
I did a couple of desk chores.
Susannah
sounds streamlined
And I assume you could always put the kids back on WIC, etc., if taking them off doesn't work out, so it's not as though you have a lot to lose.
Congratulations on the snow Jenny.
Heidi, I hope DH is okay.
TADA (the day is halfway there): brought up laundry from laundry room
put on shoes
had coffee and milk for breakfast (I know, I know)
took meds
PODA finish homework
hang laundry to dry
load and run dishwasher
make lunch
go to class
I can wear both shoes again most of the day because my stress fracture is healing.
Well,DH indeed has pneumonia
Well,DH indeed has pneumonia in his right lung. He is on antibiotics and bedrest for 1 week. If he doesn't stay in bed he has to go to the hospital. I think the thought of being in the hospital scared him right into bed.
Since all the running to doctor and xray and back to doctor,the afternoon melted away. Just gonna throw something quick together for dinner and help DS with homework,that's it.
Susannah- follow your heart,you only know what is best for your family. It feels good to write it all out and stare at it though doesn't it?
Better run.
See you guys later.
Heidi
Becky did you post that horrible breakfast on ...new you ??
horrible breakfast
I thought I did, maybe not. I'll go check.
hello, finally
Boy, have I had a tough time getting on the site! It is way past my bedtime, so I'll just say that I've been glad to read through and catch up with you all -- always soooo much going on!
Susannah, you gotta ease up on yourself! Babies make life hard, that's all there is to it! This too shall pass . . . this too shall pass . . .
I think we found our school today! It is the neighborhood school for the next neighborhood over, and DH and I absolutely loved it. There are two catches: in order for the school to pay for full-day kindergarten, there is a fee-based program (I won't explain this in detail, but it is apparently common in our state, if not our district, because parents are demanding full day but the funding isn't there for it.) More important is that we are lower on the list for the school because we are not in the 'hood, so we may not get a spot.
(This is life in the big city with tons of magnet and charter public schools as well as private schools. The choices are truly mind-boggling: Spanish-immersion, French-immersion, science partnership, classical education, multiple intelligences, performing arts, visual arts, and on and on, plus the neighborhood schools. And all this great choice with no vouchers!
-- sorry, couldn't resist -- )
I'd better head for bed. I've been taking tap dance lessons on the weekend, and now I've moved up a level to a late class on Tuesday nights, which means I am wired when I really need to go to bed and get ready for an early morning.
Have a great week all!
Shaun
Schools
I'm glad you've found one to suit you, Shaun! I'm more of a half-day proponent myself, but that would be my can't-sit-still kids.
Here's hoping it all works out well for you!
Heidi, take care of that DH! Make him stay still!
My baby is pretty agreeable. I am without excuse. Except for my supposition that it's IMPOSSIBLE! I've sorta given up these last couple of days. Not completely, I've done dishes and washed laundry and vacuumed & stuff, but mostly just sat around and noodled on the computer or thought about stuff.
TA DAs today:
*Homeschooled lite
*Found a babysitter, but turns out DH doesn't want the expense so he's staying home.
*Made bed & dressed to shoes.
*Cleaned out hamster cage last night.
*Put in a call to YMCA; there's a lock-in Friday night for the girls' ages, but I missed the payment deadline.
I'm going to see the Passion of the Christ today with friends from church. I'll let you know what I think of it. I'm looking forward to it in a way, and yet dreading it in another way. I have trouble with cruelty in films and I've always had trouble with crucifixion of Christ scenes, and all the reviews say this is very graphic. Then again, some are saying it's homoerotic, so there ya go. Who knows what to expect?
Love y'all!
Susannah
Good Afternoon!
Ds had a half day today again due to parent/teacher conferences. So after he left this morning, i took DD2 to storytime at the library. DH called after so we went home. Now we will go to the store and pick up a few things. So...
I started The Secret Life of Bees and really think it's good. I think someone here may have read it but don't remember who.
DH is doing fair, today is 2 days on antibiotic so it starts to kick in about now.
Well better round the kids up to go to the store.
Have a good evening you all.
Heidi
Secret Life
Hi guys!
That was me Heidi! Loved that book - hope DH is himself again soon, hard to be in bed! Yes, the kids and I went to Arizona to visit my parents - it was great!
The school sounds good Shaun - hope you can get in. Yes, you have many more choices than we do, doesn't surprise me for MN. We can choose between traditional and multi-age in our public school and then of course there are the parochials (not so expensive) and the private schools (big bucks).
I am not feeling well and life is busier than ever. had to paint a refrigerator box today for DS7's play. Still not done. Work tomorrow and our sitter called in sick! Aaaargh!
Catch ya later -
Andrea
good Morning! Well now the
good Morning!
Well now the plot thickens and DS9 is home today from school complaining of cold symptoms. I have my own makeshift hospital here. I better not come down with anything or the whole ship will sink!!
So any plans are pretty much out the window as I have 2 sickies on my hands. Think good thoughts,guys.
Andrea-so it was you who read Secret Life of Bees. I'm really enjoying it alot.
Jenny- did you all get all that snow? I heard on the news that some areas got almost 2 ft. Wow.
Well, thanks for all the well wishes and i will check in later. Off to call Ds in sick to school.
Have a pleasant day everyone.
Heidi
Wintry Wonderland
It snowed last night. Looks like about 1/2 inch...enough to cover the ground. Kids are thrilled! Our usual Feb. snowfall.
Poor Heidi. Praying that you stay healthy!
I came down with something last night during the movie. After some tylenol, I feel a bit better this morning.
TA DAs from last night:
*Forced myself to stay up and clean LR, guest bath and dishes/sink, though I could not swallow!
SLUG:
*Didn't fold laundry
*Didn't clear hot spot
*Didn't clean kitchen floor & counters
*Not showered/dressed yet this morning
Seems like Emma was up 5 or 6 times last night. Most of the time I resettled her with the paci, but nursed a couple of times too. She did real well at the movie.
I may have to skip my sleepover if I'm still sick tomorrow, but I'm still going to get the girls to their lock-in.
Susannah-hang in there. Hope
Susannah-hang in there. Hope you feel better ASAP. but while you are under the weather,let the house stuff go or have the family pitch in to help.
i've been hanging out at the computer alot this morning as I am pretty much destined to be home all day taking care of the family.
DD2 is now in her 3rd outfit of the morning. I think we will save alot of money not sending her to college since it looks like she has chosen her career...stripper!
We find out in about 3 weeks if she will be attending the preschool at the elementary school DS goes to. I really liked it and it is so close and inexpensive,I hope she is able to go.
Surely I will be back.
Heidi
Snow
We got about 3 inches of snow. Would have been more, but it was pretty warm when it started and much melted. It continued all day long really heavy, and was just wonderful!! Some of the higher elevations (7,000+ ft) got the 2 feet of it. Here in the high plains, about 4,000 ft above sea level, it wasn't near as much. It was a great wet snow, lets hope it's the start of a change in the weather patterns and we get more precip.
Thought ya'll would like to see my baby girl made the front page of the paper!!
http://www.pntonline.com/engine.pl?station=portales&template=storyfull.h...
She had a ball just playing in the mud at the Ag Expo!
I need to do some laundry and make my bed still. Type my news column and send it in, pick up a little. Useless mopping the kitchen with mud outside. Make brownies for DD6's class bake sale tomorrow. And scrapbook? We'll see!
Sorry about all the sickie's out there! Hope everyone gets better soon!
Afternoon flypals
Jenny, front page! I'm impressed. And what a cutie, but you already knew that
Heidi, I hope your family's better soon so mommy can get some rest.
Andrea, are you feeling better? What sort of play is DS in ?
I'm maintaining, but still haven't "caught up" on laundry. I went to the Dr. this morning and DS5 was able to go back with me and hear the baby's heartbeat. I think he's almost as excited as me!
After the Dr.'s office we met Dh for a late lunch, that's been about it for today.
Ok, I'm off to watch "The Apprentice", see you guys tomorrow.
hi all
Hi, I'm lurking.
Good vibes ~~~~~
Hello, Ladies
~~~~~ Good vibes to Heidi's DH. My mom used to get pnuemonia frequently, so I'm keeping him in my prayers. He should be feeling better now that he's on antibiotics.
I spent a most exciting day on the lot where my church will be building. The workers were clearing away debris. We bought the property four years ago, and it has taken this long to get the approval from the city to begin to build.
Cute Picture!
Kid + mud = ecstasy! Great picture, Jenny.
I don't have much to report. I've been lazy. Especially where the laundry is concerned. Sore throat again last night.
I did bake that berry pie and it's very good. The crust is very tender & flaky.
Lois, congratulations on the go-ahead to build! That's wonderful!
Jenny, hoping you get more moisture where that came from. We had another snowfall last night but it started melting away almost immediately. As far as I'm concerned, that's one of the advantages of living in GA. It's pretty when it first falls, but yucky if it stays around.
I'd post a PODA, but probably won't do it. I really do need to move some laundry, though. The main thing is getting the girls to their sleepover tonight. I'm a little nervous about that, for some reason, but they'll be together and I told them they could call me at any time if they want to back out. It's not the first time they've slept over somewhere; they stayed at their aunt's when they were younger. I was nervous about that too! LOL! Boy, when it comes time to cut these apron strings, it's not gonna be easy.
Best get dressed. Love y'all!
Susannah
still lurking
Hope you feel better soon Susannah.
I've not been feeling well myself. A cold, or steroid withdrawal, or something.
Becky- sorry to hear you aren
Becky- sorry to hear you aren't well either. Here's to a speedy recovery.
susannah- how is your sore throat? Hopefully you are on the mend as well.
thanks to all who thought good thoughts for DH. His appetite is back and is feeling better. but he still must remain in bed and not overdo or we will end up at square one. i know he is going bonkers just lying around. Oh, how much i would enjoy that for a week!!
Took DD2 to an indoor playground with some friends yesterday. Good fun. We packed lunches and all ate there as well.
DS is sleeping over at his Aunt and Uncle's and probably will stay again tonight. I miss him when he goes but he always has a good time there.
Andrea- I finished "Bees" last night. So awesome,huh? Everyone out there should read it too. i have been alternating between reading a classic and then a modern day bestseller. So next is Jane Eyre.
Well gonna go read the paper and have some coffee before we get ready to take DH back to the Dr. this am.
PODA;

PS: Susannah-how did the sleepover go?
Talk to you all later.
Heidi
Good Morning Ladies!!
HI guys!
Glad you liked it Heidi! Wonder if she's written anything else. Yes, I'd love to lay around too!
Yes, curious to hear about the sleepover Susannah! How are you feeling?
Hope you are back up to snuff soon Becky.
well, I'm doing some paid work now - working on a short PODA for today. So far I've gone to Curves and Wal-mart - also emptied dw. Really need to clean my bathroom, especially after cleaning out our vacuum in there. Need to start a vacuum thread, we're considering a new one.
I'm off!
Andrea
Prayers for Sick Ones
Sorry you are not feeling well, Becky. It can't be easy to do school when you feel bad.
Glad hubby's making progress, Heidi. I always think I'd like bed rest, but I'd probably go crazy too!
I picked the girls up a couple of hours ago, and they seem to have had a good time. As usual, it's not easy to get it all out of them, even playing 20 questions! I think they enjoyed midnight swimming the most. The lady in charge told me Anna Kate had had a leg cramp and was crying this morning, but when I questioned Anna she didn't seem all that upset about it. They said they missed me...a little.
So there's another adventure under our belts.
DH came home with only two hamsters yesterday. Looks like we have 7 in this next litter. The kids are fighting over holding them right now. I don't like the boys to hold them, they get a little manhandled. Plus, with my cold I don't want to have to catch them if they get loose. Human viruses can kill hamsters.
We are out of money and soon to be out of groceries!
Well, I guess we can drink water if we run out of milk, juice and sugar for kool-aid. Funny, when you have no money it's almost like you are free from worries over it. Nothing to be done!
Emma feels a bit warm to me, but the ear thermometer doesn't register a fever. I've been worried she might catch this thing. I've had sore throat & no other symptoms, but today I feel more symptoms coming on. Bummer!
I did do a bunch of laundry yesterday, including folding. But I stalled at putting away the kids' clothes and I have more to wash, esp. diapers. I was going to make chicken last night, but my chicken pieces smelled horrible when I pulled them out of the fridge. What a waste! We had eggs & biscuits instead.
I'm getting hungry now, since I had only chocolate milk for breakfast. Oughta go rustle something up, though I don't really feel like eating, or more precisely, swallowing.
Speaking of which, I've lost five pounds this week. I don't know if it's eating less, drinking more water for the throat, or switching to lower fat milk.
Love y'all!
Susannah
Good Evening! Dr appt went
Good Evening!
Dr appt went well. Dh will go back to work on Wednesday and see how it goes.
The temps were in the high 40's low 50's today so took DD to the park and boy was it packed. Guess everyone had the same idea.
came home and made spaghetti and salad, gave Dd a bath, and here I am.
Hope everyone had a good day today.
See ya.

Hello
Hello, Ladies.
Becky, I hope you'll be feeling better soon!
Heidi, I'm glad your DH is doing better. I'm sure he'll be back on his feet in no time!
Bronwyn, when is your mother coming to visit?
Nothing new to report. No news is good news!
hello
Susannah, I hope you can get food anyway.
Heidi, I'm glad your DH feels better.
I went to a school-related conference today (yesterday, I guess) and did precisely zero flying. Then I took a nap.
I'm going to go back to bed now.
Mornin'!
Yes, I'm sure we'll manage groceries somehow. The Lord always takes good care of us. I've got canned food, etc. in the cupboards and some in the freezer, but the kids' favorite things to drink & eat run out quickly. I think I have meals for another week or so and by then DH should have finished another job, weather permitting. We are stocked up on t.p., thank heaven!
And my laundry soap should hold out.
I'm feeling lousy. Blech! This sore throat has persisted since Wed. and now I've got the sinus junk too. Whine, whine!
I think I'll just do laundry today. TA DAs are, I straightened up a bit last night and did the dishes and mopped the kitchen floor. The kitchen's in good shape. I did not do a final vacuum of the LR. Had already vacuumed twice! I don't know how the kids manage to get junk on the carpet so fast.
Best go get dressed.
Love,
Susannah
Good Morning! Sunday a day o
Good Morning!
Sunday a day of rest...Ha I already TADA:
2 loads laundry in progress
DD2 fed,changed,dressed,watching cartoons with DH
paid several bills
put some photos in album
dw loaded
me showered,fed,dressed
read Sunday paper
Whew... Ds should be coming home around lunch time. They were supposed to go ice skating last night so am anxious to hear how it went since he has never been before. I would have gotton a call if broken bones were involved so it can't be that bad!! LOL.
will take kids outside for a walk or to the park again since it is supposed to hit low 50's today.
still need to buy lunch meat for the week and i am low on laundry detergent. Other than that, I am done for the Day of Rest...
Have a wonderful day you all.
Heidi
swimming!
You too Heidi! You deserve it! You actually got a lot done.
I'm headed out to take the kids for a swim (indoor of course). I may soak in the hot tub, though I don't relish the thought of squeezing into my suit in February.
Andrea

Good Morning!
Well DS is off to school and today is food shopping day. We will get lunch meat at BJ's(never went yesterday) and regular stuff at Aldi.
DD2 needs a spring weight jacket so may try to hit the thrift store and see. i hate to buy a new one since she will only be wearing it for 2-3 months off and on plus it will get dirty playing in the yard,park,etc. I hate buying something brand new and 2 days later there I am trying to get grass or mud stains out!!
Hope Becky and susuannah are feeling up to snuff today.
Hello to everyone.
Check in later.
