Amazon Review:More is more sometimes, at least in the world of small appliances. KitchenAid has introduced a new member of the stand mixer family, known as the Artisan mixer. It has a tilting head, like the KSM90, but it has a larger 5 qt. capacity bowl. It also gives you more oomph, as in 325 watts of cookie dough busting power. What's not to love? If you've been considering a stand mixer, this may be the perfect "starter model" for you.

NOTE: THE AMAZON PRICE IS MUCH MUCH LOWER THAN WHAT IS SHOWN! GO TO AMAZON FOR THE ACCURATE PRICE!!
This is my red KitchenAid mixer. I love it MADLY. I have two gizmos that attach to it--the food grinder for making and stuffing sausage, and the grain mill for grinding flour and cracking grains for porridge. They work fabulously. And it's a pretty good mixer, too! Plus also it's my favorite shade of red!
With my KitchenAid I can cook from scratch more efficiently. We eat fresher, better tasting, healthier food. If you're a scratch cook, a stand mixer is a necessity, and they just don't get much better than a KitchenAid Artisan for the average home cook. This thing will be an heirloom for one of my girls, and possibly for one of their kids too.
Do get the splash guard. When this thing gets going, you'll end up with cake batter on the ceiling without it.
I could live without my crockpot, I could live without my rice cooker. I could even live without my toaster oven. But the KitchenAid Artisan is the one kitchen appliance I couldn't live without.
