I'm in the midst of research right now
I have not done a lot of research previously, just the promotional blurbs on foster adoptin websites.
The benefit of the Foster Family Care Network is the massive amounts of training and support the foster parents recieve. You literally have a whole team at your back with 24 support. This is because a) it's private organizations, not the state, and b) because it's "theraputic" foster care (read: rehabilitative).
And this may not work for us. DH is open to adopting from foster care, but only up to a point. Mild disabilities/challenges he feels he can deal with but when you start talking about blind or deaf children, wheelchairs, and other significant disabilities he's not comfortable with it. Which I feel I must honor. One should know one's limits so as to avoid heartache down the road.
It's all new right now, but I'm trying to educate myself as quick as I can.
